I had jury duty this morning and it was this. Didn't get called up, free to go. Thank fuck.

Yeah. That sounds like a prescription for antidepressants.
Fuck me, that sounds like a lucky escape.

Frig.
I met someone who killed their kids when I did forensic psych for my elective. Weird experience.
Had to read the whole report of the enquiry as well which was harrowing.
Speaking with sick shit apparently my boy worked at an auto parts store with one of these sick fucks:

The text messages in the story make me so fucking angry.
Not available in our region.
What kind of name is Lafe?
I got the gist from the article title, to be honest.
That drives me fucking insane when it happens to me.
Anyways, basically two freak shows texting each other about some druggie's 3 year old daughter and how the mom is a deadbeat and might just let them do things to the child but in the meantime the one guy is trying to make it so the child is comfortable with him and has even looked up ways to knock the kid out without her remembering what happened
at one point mans tells his friend he can't wait to get his tongue around some... ya it's pretty fucking grimy and i hope both people die.
Anyone ever read the court notes from Ian Watkins' trial? That's some rancid shit.
Apparently some guy from Steps is also named Ian Watkins and ffs that has to be a bit shit to have to introduce yourself as "Ian Watkins, the singer, but no not that one".
I regret googling the court notes because I now, again, want to die.
Yeah when I used to go places like that, I was glad to not know the backstory.
You could always tell the noncey ones though because the staff couldn’t help their extra disdain for them.

Australia moves to the left!
The Greens dragging Labor left is also worth noting.
I'd have put all my money on H being the nonce back then to be fair.
'Medium Security' just instinctively sounds wrong for someone who offed their kids. My dad worked in a mental health facility with a 'Low Security' ward for a few years and some of the people he mentioned being held under those conditions sounded like they should have been treated like Garland Green.
That said, a few years ago in the psychiatric care unit of that same hospital a woman with a fairly extensive history of suicide attempts did herself in with a fucking scarf she won in a game of bingo organised by the nurses, so maybe that place just ought to be shut down.
This is getting fucking ridicolous, seriosuly. People are so sensetive about everything, its embarassing.
Are them VW's that idiots put eyelashes on racist if your car is black? Where is the line here?
Is it cultural appropriation that I'm white and have a huge dick? Makes you think.

I hope they got caught on CCTV for that.
In a now deleted tweet the operator replied: ‘Sorry, the train has been travelling up from Sunderland with only the rear car in operation as someone has defecated on the train and has covered 3 seats with faeces.
I was informed last night, that Apu from The Simpsons could possibly be dropped becuse of all this policital correctness cultural appropriation theme that is going on around the world. Its fucked up that people cant even act and make stories anymore if it is true.
The argument they have is that Apu is a stereotype.
Which he is.
As is - every - fucking - character. Why Apu is the issue and not BumbleBee Man or Cleetus or..., who knows?
The reason Apu is the issue is that Hari Kondabolu did a piece on how growing up the primary way people would take the piss out of him was doing the Apu voice at him. The character itself is actually pretty nuanced, the only stereotypical aspects are the voice and the corner shop, and were he voiced by an actual Indian man I don't think anyone would care. Picture Hank Azaria doing the voice though and you begin to see why it might make people uncomfortable.
Apu being voiced by someone who looks like Hank, I understand the backlash. But it is still acting at the end of the day by displaying your talents.
Azaria revealed that he draws inspiration from an Indian shopkeeper who committed the heinous crime of.... asking him not to drink a drink he hadn't actually paid for.
Not that that makes any difference to whether the character is a problem or not, just that it makes Azaria look like an arse.
Was there another character from the subcontinent on American tv in the 80’s - 90’s? I can barely think of a Hispanic or Asian character. There was Ponch from CHiPs, Jimmy Smitts, and who else? I seem to remember some detective on Miami Vice with a Japanese backstory who was played by James Edward Olmos or something. It is odd, and completely unsurprising, that a white guy impersonating an Indian guy would have been it. Which is the actual point they are making.
Wait, this all started because a 30-something couldn't get over being bullied at school? Fuck the media. Also, that court thing is really well dodged...
24 year old shagging a barely legal lass that's accused of killing his 6 year old kid. Peak Scotland.Giving evidence from behind a screen at the High Court in Glasgow, 18-year-old Ms McLachlan said she had been dating Alesha's father Robert MacPhail, 26, for about two years.

The victim's mother was 16 when she gave birth as well. He has a type.
His current one is innocent though. The accused is as guilty as they come. I'm fairly baffled as to who has advised him it was a good idea to go with this defence.
I saw the opening remarks in court and there's no way it'll be anything other than a unanimous guilty verdict. The poor fuckers in the jury having to sit through two weeks of this.
From the outline reports on the beeb this does sound like an all time wtf defence.
Maybe not quite the Huntley 'they just died in the bath' effort, but close and maybe better in terms of mad conspiracy. It'll probably turn out to be true in 30 years.
No one really advises a defendant as to plea. Technically, you have to take them at their word and if they say they didn't do it, you go with it. You only advise a guilty plea if they actually full on say they did it, or recuse yourself when they don't.

Fair enough. His mum or someone should really have stepped in and given him the "are you sure m8", though.
I'd still have the dad down as a wildcard theory. Anyway, more nonce talk:

"I applied to marry an English-speaking fighter between 20 and 25 years old," she said.
Ten days later she married a 27-year-old Dutch man who had converted to Islam.
I know it's always the way with these cases but every news article updating the Alesha MacPhail case just gets fucking worse.
BTW James why would you get called up for Jury duty for that? Aren't you in Newcastle?
Why do I have that idea? Maybe I'm confusing you with someone from before.
Do you support Newcastle then?
But then you live in Glasgow, I take it yeah?
You’re confusing him with Sandman because he used to do drugs.
Dino is the Greek sink-pisser.
And the one who got caught wanking by his Grandad.
