I think FC4 has a few of those small improvements because I'm sure FC3, much as I loved it, was full of little niggles that I don't feel so much now.

Anyway, RPS does top 25 stealth games.

Makes me want to get Commandos 2 on the go again. Leaving a an entire base full of black-eyed, trussed up Nazis was mega satisfying. I should play Desperados.

Bloodborne picked up the pace with two more bosses down. Witches get stitches and Vicars get... I dunno, stabbed. I'm still none the wiser about the story. Everyone's putting way too much faith in the Healing Church which makes me think they're bent or straight up evil. I dunno what the Old Ones are but if you roll around Cathedral Ward with 40 insight, there's a big 'something' clutching on to the chapel. I don't care for Lovecraft but, man, that's an image. On to Bergenwyrth. Wherever that is. I'll ask NPCs for directions or something.

For all the mysteries these games trade in, at least Dark Souls shoved you in the right direction and fed you enough backstory to give context to what you were doing. So far its "You're a Hunter. Hunt." and the townsfolk are either off their tits on blood (Damn you, Healing Church!) or shit-talking hunters for being hunters. And I wish there was more to the NPCs. They lack a bit of history.

Chaos Theory will always be my favourite, never has piling up unconscious guards been so much grabby fun.

Thief II is, rightfully, number 1 and should be forever more. Can't wait for the Dishonored sequel.

Saboteur at 17! Even though sometimes the stealth was just the AI not detecting you running right in front of them.

Finally bothered to try this again. That's the right place but they're not there and neither is my stuff so nothing's happening. I guess that's the end of Far Cry 3 for me. So annoying as I was really enjoying it.

That's really annoying. Get on 4 instead. There's enough of us to warrant a thread for it probably.

Oh is there a 'restart mission' option on the main menu? I'm guessing that isn't working for you, though..

I don't think so. There isn't one in the pause menu where it normally was but I didn't check the main menu very closely.

    Isn't 4 still expensive?

I seem to have a knack of long range grenade launching now.

Cleared out almost a whole outpost using the M-79 whilst walking towards the outpost from about 300 yards.

    Indeed.

Also, as good as the tuktuks are, they're no match for 2 rhinos

Steaming down the road and trying to run them both down didn't end too well. They took the initial hit, stepped back and then rammed my tuktuk so hard it started flipping over.

Has anyone tried taking on a fortress before weakening it? I took out de Pleur's last night after weakening it and it didn't seem that difficult. Hunkered into a building with a rocket launcher to deal with the helicopters and everything else was fairly straightforward, just seemed like a glorified outpost. I've already weakened Noore's, but I'm definitely gonna try the next one while it's strong.

In the City of Pain one when I tried to carry the fucker out I ended up grenade launching far away from me to send enemies scurrying there so I could get through without constantly putting him down. Ballache.

Almost any Steam game you can do this with, in my experience. Many others as well though not always as easily. I've actually got a disc/uPlay copy and even then loading it into your Steam library you can just follow the Steam instructions and it'll sort 'em out.

How does one weaken it? Is it story missions or something? I don't if the ones I've done have been weakened or not.

The tooltip on the map says to do more story missions to weaken them.

If I have it installed through Uplay can I link it to Steam then? That would be easier.

My problem was getting round to the slaves, I was always spotted. Oh and I wasn't listening to how the mission was meant to be done at the start so I went all in with my grenade launcher.

First slave I freed seemed to make every enemy know exactly where I was which was annoying.

When I was leaving with the fucker I didn't put him down once. I died the first time as I accidentally grenade launched myself but the second I just lobbed loads of bait round and whilst walking I kept throwing grenades as well as using my launcher. I think I cleared almost the whole camp.

@Ian - they get weakened when you deal with the fortress' leader, so once you did City of Pain de Pleur's fortress was weakened.

I died twice in the City of Pain when trying to free the slaves, but thankfully both times I was discovered just as I was about to free one, so it gave me the checkpoint both times. You need to remember to use those hunting syringes that show where every enemy is - they're so useful. It's a pity the mechanism for using them on the XB1 is so janky.

That I did but I'm just so fucking shit at stealthing. The few guys I did kill, were always found even if I put them in the bushes. I decided on my last run that I'd go for the slave that was furthest away and then I came back for the other, seemed to work a lot better for me.

Oh and about Yogi and Reggie:

Yep. Go to your library, Add Game at the bottom, "non steam game" at the bottom, right click on the game once it's there and follow the instructions in that same RPS link and treat it as if it were a Steam game.

Bloodborne's new patch adds some stuff. Although the size of it indicates the DLC will be an unlock rather than downloading new content. So far I've seen a new hunter in the worst possible spot, an NPC that offers a covenant but strangely no further summonable NPCs.

Their snake head summon is now an item you can use. Also, it took three days to beat these guys.

I've not been bothering with the races after the first one. I'm into the northern half of the map, but only just. I think I'm going to get all the radio towers and outposts and fortresses done first so I can unlock any more weapons which rely on that sort of thing.

I was a bit annoyed to find the top half was gated as I'm really liking just uncovering the map and hoovering up icons but t did prompt me to start doing assassinations and hostage rescues etc.

I didn't realise it was gated originally.

I set a waypoint for an outpost in the north, hit autodrive and left it.

I was taken to the bridge and was destroyed in about 10 seconds.

Are you clearing every icon off the map that you can, then? Masks of Yaulung, for example, I've sort of lost interest in unless I happen to stumble across one. I like the little notes and stuff but I fear there's nothing going to come of it and they're not that interesting to hunt down. Lost letters and Ghale's journals I'll probably seek out and I'll clear up any side missions I'm actually interested in.

I'm getting all the blue things (masks, letters, journals, spinnaroonie wheels) and going to all the different locations, I don't have any expectation of anything happening I'm just a gaming kleptomaniac. I have turned off the loot chests though as they're pointless at this stage.

I considered trying it with a gyrocopter but I'm assuming the game will just not let me or insta-kill me past a certain point.

I'm the opposite, I couldn't give a shit about the story but I am very much enjoying all the faff, it's good faff with enough extra emergent faff going on to keep it interesting. It won't be long before I have to do some story stuff to open up the other part of the map in order to access additional faff.

It varies from game to game with me. In thi I'm not going to be hunting down every icon but I will go for every quesion mark.

I'll go every-nook-and-cranny mode when there's stuff to read and have a nose at. I look forward to hacking into people's computers and reading their emails once the new Deus Ex comes out.

Oh and all the combat and stuff...

    Taking on Pagan Min's fortress

Don't even bother if you don't take out the alarms, they just keep sending helicopters as soon as one is destroyed.
