They'll give it to Kathryn Bigelow.
They'll give it to Kathryn Bigelow.
I'm more liberal on Bond things than most people, but surely the whole point of him is that he doesn't get killed off.
Who cares what they do with Bond? Just make an entertaining action film. Who gives a shit about continuity or if he's black or whatever.
Kill him off, it's only a code name.
Forgot that it was the BOND family house.
But what difference does it make? It’s not as if the casting of a black actor means he’ll swap his Martini for a KFC.
Is that what you’re worried about?
Other than the fact his old man wasn't around, his background as described in the books would make it very difficult to be black.
Make they a Chinese lesbian.
How true are the films to the books though? Isn't it pretty loose?
Regardless, the character is the character. Why not make him American?
Because Americans suck.
Arrival was a good watch. 7/10 from. Next on the list is Gravity.
Ant-Man and The Wasp is good fun.
I love how hiring one of the most famous actors on the planet = 'being snowflaked'.
Bond has to be cool, suave, handsome and badass so it's basically between him and Statham at this point.
Definitely not judging the whole thing on the color of his skin though. Nothing to do with that.
James Bond isn't black, so yes, what else would it be based on?
We live in world of pure fuckery. Outrage for an alleged black james bond. Actresses can't play a character who is a lesbian in a movie if she has been laid down by a man before in real life.
De-aged Samuel L Jackson for the Captain Marvel-movie is some mind-bending shit:
Pretty soon, Carrie Fisher will have appeared in more films posthumously than she ever did alive.
Haven’t they just died his hair?
No, it's still alive.
Because James Bond isn't black. They've been making Bond films for sixty years, and, apart from some of them being a bit camp, the character has had clearly defined personality traits and habits (but never a DB9) through all of them. He is effectively 'real' from a casting point of view, and he happens to be white.
Presumably that defined character wasn't Scottish either?
or Australian or Irish.
David Beckham for the next bond @5000/1
Ian Fleming made him Scottish (and half-Swiss) to incorporate aspects of how Sean Connery played him, and that background is a plot point in GoldenEye, so he can't have been Double O'Seven in that. Lads you're contesting facts here. What's the point?
I get that James Bond has to be a certain way (which rules out women, I think), I just don't get how black skin interferes with any of it.
What about Sanjeev Bhaskar as a desi Bond? 'Miss Moneypenny, you're just my cup of tea.'
Watched Alien Covenant tonight, it was alright.
Gravity was ok. 6/10.
Ive added all of the superhero movies to the watchlist. Besides Batman, I never gave a fuck to watch any other superhero movie. They are even teaming superheroes together. I just don't have the energy for it.
I assume you're watching films on the laptop while trying to complete that absurd Gran Turismo challenge? Superhero films are absolutely perfect for that.
I did the first season of 24 in one sitting while getting through the endurance races on GT3.
No, im watching movies while in bed and because I keep falling to sleep. It takes about 3 days to cover 30 minutes.
I don't watch superhero movies besides the Batman solo franchise. Looking through IMDB there are so many superheroes movies now. They dont interest me at all but ive got them on list to watch.
I still haven't watched a single episode of
Breaking bad
24
Sons of anarchy
The one with the dragons and white hair
People around me talk about them all the time. Im not excited to watch movies or TV shows at all. If its not gaming or sports. I have very little interest.
I can't remember which one I watched now but it was either Alien Covenant or Prometheus. I was confused throughout the whole movie. Then i immediately watched the other movie and one of the characters from either Alien Covenant or Prometheus was also in Alien Covenant or Prometheus. I turned it off within 5 minutes and didnt make it to the second movie.
For all its flaws Prometheus was much better. Scott caved a bit much to fans wanting more of the Alien in it, not to mention it had bugger all originality to it. I'd say I still liked it a bit but that's probably more to do with happily watching Fassbender.
Was a pity as this prologue gave me the horn-
Definitely one to have seen at the cinema in 3D. That was my peak cinematic experience. Just me and my mate in the biggest screen in cineworld.
Just watched A Most Violent Year. Why is it so highly rated? It's really dull.
Probably because it's really dull.
I had no idea that was highly rated, heard from most its a bit average.
Watched Searching today, that's a well done thriller.
Also watched the new Mission Impossible the other week and its fucking brilliant.
And Oslo, August 31st in a hipster coffee cafe on Tuesday with the missus which was well shot and massively depressing.
Watching Yardie on Sunday, mainly excited for Stephen Graham + patois.
It's got 89% on RT.
Critics are cunts, they rate Blade Runner ffs
Avengers: Infinity War has super high IMDB reviewes. Ill try and watch it at some stage over the weekend.
Don’t just dive in there!
