Hop House isn’t great.
Here @John, is there anything you'd compare it to that's easier to get? Wouldn't mind bringing a few home like it. Can't find bottles of this anywhere.
Asked my cousin and he gets it direct from the company. Forty odd quid. For twelve bottles so I was right in remembering it's pricey.

It must be ridiculously delicious for you to pay that.
Or it’s your wife’s birthday soon.

You could probably phone and find out where their nearest stockist is.
In a hotel, alone, in Ipswich tonight so thought I’d get some cans in. The shop opposite was Polish and only stocks Polish food and drink, seemingly. I have 4 pints of Kalnapilis Grand Select. It’s fucking shite.
Not s decent pub you could have walked to?
Tyskie is Polish and drinkable is it not?
Yeah actually Tyskie, or even Zwyiec is absolutely everywhere and spot on.
This stuff looked alright. Never mind, I’ll still neck it.
But go out. I've sat in Premier Inns and Travelodges with a few pints and a bag of crisps manys a night but it's better than sitting in.
Tyskie bombs.

I’m staying here. The bar charges £5 a pint, there’s a PlayStation, a FREE POOLTABLE, it encourages the bants and - worst of all - half the people I’m training are here, so I’d have to socialise. Fuck that.
I’ll sit here with my disappointing beer, a BBC documentary about babies about to die, TTH and try to resist wrapping the curtain tie around my neck.
I've only ever had to stay in a hotel for work once, it was dead fun.
Was in Birmingham for a museum industry conference. Despite living 30 minutes away on the train, my 60-something American boss paid for a hotel for me because "hey Igor, I guess you've never gone somewhere "ON BUSINESS", so I thought you might enjoy it". On day one of two she got really pissed cus the restaurant she went to get lunch in caught on fucking fire so they sent them to a bar with vouchers for a couple of hours to say sorry, then came back and loudly called some bloke at another company a creep, then said "Y'know what Igor, this conference kinda sucks, hotel is still paid for so you can stick around if you fancy it, take tomorrow off".
I took a four pack of stella back to my room, watched about 4 hours of an Australia vs New Zealand test match, then ambled home the next day. I fucking loved that boss.
Going this pub on Saturday. Easily the best pub for miles.
72 pints up for grabs too. Only four of us going so that’s 18 pints each. I genuinely reckon one of us could drink 18 pints and still get home.

"Old Fogorn", a barley wine by Anchor. Fucking hell it's good stuff.
I'd a feed of Heineken last night. It really is the McDonalds of beer.
Their porter is one of my favorites. I think their Christmas special was also quite good. There were a couple others I really liked but I can't remember right now. Everything I've tried from them has been good.
Is Don De Dieu common over there? It is so good.
This one? https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/22/694/
Had never heard of it before now. Have you not posted much about your excellent taste in beer or have I just missed / forgotten it? The Anchor Porter is superb.
That's the one. I usually don't like beers with high alcohol content, but that one is superb.
I have posted a bit before, but haven't in a while. I do love me a good beer.
Was probably about €7 in that kip too.
What's the best supermarket for a range of decent beers? Going away for a long weekend with a few other couples so will be taking a few cans/bottles (we almost had a 72 pint keg coming with us but decided against it considering we all have babies) and will go to a supermarket to stock up sometime this week. Also, any suggestions for specific beers welcomed.

I like Morrisons over Asda, they have a big selection and a nice 3 bottles for a fiver thing.
If I lived over there I'd be balls deep in cider.
Anything that’s not your bog standard ten lagers, really. I think I’d like a selection of different 330ml cans of weird and wonderful flavours.

In which case what you probably want is a wanky beer nerd shop rather than a supermarket but you'll get a decent-ish variety in any of the big ones, probably.
Went to Asda and they had quite a lot of choice and a lot in the 4 for £6 deal; then went to Morrisons and it was even better cos every beer was in the same priced deal. Ended up with 4 from Asda and 8 from Morrisons.

Any recommendations for a wine version of Beer52?
Nope, grow a penis.
Aren't there (literally) a million different wine club type things? HSBC or someone (Amazon?) is always hawking flyers for something like Laithwaites (?) whenever they send me anything in the post, but that looks more of a mixed case wine merchant jobbie.
I was hoping for something that isn't generic bollocks, obviously
Why don't you just pop into Majestic?
Had Tynt Meadow last night which is brewed by some monks in Leicestershire and is the first English Trappist beer. Very nice it is too.
What % is it?
