Such a shame, he was starting to look really good.
Such a shame, he was starting to look really good.
If he's torn a cruciate or something then even if the surgery is genuinely successful then recovery can be very long. Doesn't mean he can't come back.
His mental strength will be as Important as his physical recovery. Djibril Cisse never looked the same after his nightmare. A footballer that’s terrified of injury is going to struggle as much as any injured one.
Oxlade just needed to work on his end product which is something all the wide English men since Beckham didn't have. I like what he did though. Accomplished all he could have with Arsenal and then decided to take a step-down in order to make a step up. Now he is fucked for another year because of a bad knee.
In other news, Klopp at Liverpool has spent over £300m in just under three years.
I'm just about to return to playing football after rupturing my ACL last April (surgery in September). I can confirm that even playing casual training games is scary when you first go back to training, let alone an actual match. I can run 10km no problem now, but the thought of putting my foot into a tackle is still very scary.
Even getting your studs caught will put you on edge. That's how a lad at work tore his.
Sky Italia saying Chelsea after Pjanic as well. Their midfield options would be fucking mental if that happened.
Kante must be off surely. Take his lovely head to Spain and rack up more titles.
Did anyone see the video of Pogba leading the French team singing the N'Golo Kante song when they got back to Paris? Kante's face was great.
Real Madrid don't buy black players, luckily.
Ive never tore or broken anything. Worst injury ive had is bucking my toe on the side of the bed. Done this countless times. Even playing football after that, it is in the back of your mind. I can imagine coming back from a tear is scary on another level.
I've done my other side knee that isn't ACL (should Google it) blocking a pass. No surgery but just completely unable to play for about 6 weeks then another couple of months rehabbing. I think I did play a cup final after taking pain killers which was probably dumb.
Anyway, heard mourinho was his dour self yesterday. Roll on the season.
We're being linked with Higuain now. Don't think there's ever been a stronger Operation candidate than he.
Looks like Schmiechel is off. And naturally we are replacing him with Liverpool's fourth choice keeper. Really liked the business we did early this window but losing two key players is a blow.
Danny Ward is great.
You should go for Tom Heaton given the Pope is likely to be Burnley's number 1.
Thought we'd try for Butland. Surely he won't play in the Championship.
Don't you disrespect Danny Ward by inferring he's 4th choice. Everyone on the board is ahead of Karius in the pecking order now.
It seems to be a very slow market this year. Did the WC just park everything? A lot for most teams to do in only 2-3 weeks.
Spurs and Burnley yet to make a single signing. There's gonna be a mad rush now you'd imagine. European clubs will be rubbing their hands together with glee.
The last few days and deadline day and going to explode surely.
From a Liverpool perspective - I'm pretty happy. If Alisson goes through, that means we've added a goalkeeper, together with Keita and Fabinho in midfield and Shaqiri as back up to the front 3. I actually would have preferred giving Woodburn and Ojo more minutes rather than sign Shaqiri, but for 13m, it's pretty low risk.
Our biggest problem now is offloading the turd;
Lolris Karius
Si Mignolet
Raggy Klavan
Grujic (loan somewhere)
Alb Moreno (keep around for the lol's, perhaps)
Div Origi (12m to Huddersfield, surely?)
Danny Ings (love him, but no place for him)
Dan Sturridge
Laz Markovic (lol)
If we can somehow recoup 30m-40m for that lot, job done.
You'll struggle to offload Sturridge. Who is going to pay those wages for someone with that injury record.
Harry Forrester, just released by Rangers yesterday, is off to play under John Toshack for an Iranian side with 'Tractor' in their name.
Just seen this (he's been in a couple of our international squads). Bit of a strange move.

Salford spending mega money for non league. Must have a league one budget based on what theyve done so far.
Rooney had a terrific season a couple of years ago but he's been trending down for a while now and lost what little pace he had. He should do fine at that level on instincts and finishing alone though.
We've signed 25 year old goalkeeper Jonathan Bond from Reading (who?) and Sam Johnstone from Man Utd. The latter is meant to be quite good, no? Also Kyle Bartley. Know the name but not a lot else.
Less confident about us boing boinging back to the promised land, but I'm not particularly arsed. Prem's shite anyway.
I'll always hold a soft spot for Sam Johnstone as in my FIFA career once he lead the team to treble glory after Dave decided he wanted to put in a transfer request in the middle of fucking March (and I had already sold our other backup because when in the fuck do you ever need a backup gk in FIFA).
Bartley is a bit of a nutcase.

Alisson is official.
I think that's a decent buy, in spite of all my beliefs about South American goalkeepers. They start the season as clear favourites for a comfortable title win, which is exactly where I want them.
How are they 'clear favourites for a comfortable title win' after Man City's season last year?
I'm only scouse baiting, but the useless man yoo fans always bite first.
Nah mate I was playing along with your plan.

May get £20m back if lucky.
The Alisson signing especially says to me Klopp thinks the team is ready to win things and now. The squad has also got a lot stronger. I still imagine Woodburn will get some chances, though maybe not so much Ojo.
Rumour is we're still having Fekir on top of all this as well. Crazy to see us finally spending after the saving up period.
Allison has terrible skin once you look at his properly. His face looks like a cheese grater. Going to Liverpool is a good thing though. Both Klopp and Firminio had fucked up teeth when they first arrived but have since had them fixed. RAWK NHS working nice.
I'm sure they'll be able to get Nivea on the case.
Agent Firmino with 2 signings in the off-season. And we thought he couldn't get any better.
Always winning he said. Lad, Liverpool won the league cup in 2012 and an FA Cup in 2006. They are on a drought.Originally Posted by Alisson
They have put together a nice team though over the past few seasons. Some good signings and they have a lot of depth now. They definatly have a better team than Chelsea and Man Utd right now. Losing back to back european finals is a massaive heartbreak.
SSN are reporting Chelsea and Juventus are in contact over Higuain. That looks like such a horrible signing. Its two years too late.
Just fucking play Giroud. He WILL score goals for them if they do.
I'd argue a striker is (for once) the least of our concerns - if Hazard and Courtois are off, then we can't necessarily replace them but we do need to come up with some sort of solid alternative.
Morata did great considering 99% of the strikers have had the 'operation'
I would rather take Zaha over Higuain at Chelsea
What's the deal with this guy Madrid just bought? Vinicius Jr?
