I'm a spastic, I meant Chris Armstrong
Ian Wright - I'm sure he missed 98 with injury after his heroics against Italy
Oh, I misread, I thought it was played at a world cup but didn't score. Disrespecting the memory of '06 with Yorke and Adebayor picks there.
Les Ferdinand for the top one?
Or Robbie Fowler?
Gary McAllister
Steven Fletcher
Shane Long
I thought of McAllister but then remembered his missed penalty in 98. I've just realised that was Euro 96.
As for Ferdinand, I was sure he played at 98, but I'm probably confusing it with Euro 96 again.
Peter Beardsley
Ian Woan
Steve Stone
Stuart Ripley
Kevin Gallagher
Mike Newell
None of the above is the missing players. Cant find any data that suggests Les played at Euro 96 or World Cup 98. He was on the bench for nine games across both competitions.
They are both English though.
Scored their first Premier League's goals in 92/93 and 99/00

Negative
David Hirst must be close too? Probably scored more PL goals than Smith given that by early 95 the latter was knackered. Paul Furlong too. Lee Sharpe probably had enough games to hit the mark but wasn’t the most prolific.
Paul Kitson
Paul Rideout
Danny Murphy
Rob Lee
Lee Clarke
Tim Sherwood
Dean Sturridge
Adam Johnson
Jay Rodriguez
Rod Wallace is the only other player I can think of from the inaugural season who might’ve scored enough.
I think I've got it - Nicky Barmby (or Barnaby as I used to call him)
That was the final one. Easy enough.
