I do appreciate the Champions League is a huge deal for the players, but I swear you didn't used to get literally half of them crying.

Utterly fucking beautiful that
Karius will probably need therapy after this. What a shitshow.
Gary Neville BANTERING half of Liverpool into a coma on Twitter. #scenes #whatatimetobealive
Bale’s off then.
Come to Liverpool, fella.
I'm a twit
I'd bankrupt Newcastle just to bring Bale there. As for Karius, it's the first one that gets me. The shit punch can just kinda happen but Benzema's was just dumb.
What's the 'keeper bealing to the fans for? They've done worse in finals.
Steven Gerrard is the real winner tonight.

Karius fucking it up just makes it extra special.
Can't fault the outfield players. In good hands with Klopp in charge.
They were dogshit.
Bale's first is the best goal I've seen in yonks. Incredible. Marcelo with the weaker foot cross too, love that guy.
Even without the Karius howlers, Liverpool a bit disappointing second half? I don't know if it was Salah blues but I thought they'd have the energy to really go for it once 2-1 down.
Villa lost
Liverpool lost
It looked to me like Ramos locked Salah's arm in his when he went to the ground. Is that a fair assessment?
I hate Liverpool. but Ramos a nasty player. Really dirty, and probably the cause of Salah's injury through foul play.
EDIT: Going through the match thread suggests that this is basically accepted knowledge. What a bastard Ramos is.
Egypt and Spain could meet in the first knockout round of the World Cup. I hope they do, Salah's fit and scores 3 to knock Spain out.
Ramos is one of the last proper defenders about. Snide, aggressive and can actually defend.
Yeah he's a cunt but I'd love him at United. Best CB in the world.
Quite disappointed that wasn't a picture of Smalling tbh
Obviously he doesn't know it's going to end with a dislocated shoulder but he knew what he was doing with his arm. It was calculated.
Bale's goal as good as it was does anyone else think De Gea or another top class keeper saves that. I honestly think Karius could have done better with it. The less said about the other two the better, but surely at the very least it means we buy a new keeper or stick James Milner in there for a season.
It looked a lot more central on the replays, so I think the height and dip might have deceived him a bit. I'm not putting it in the 'could have done better' pile, but it wasn't unstoppable either.
We were debating the Zidane/Bale thing where I was watching it, as soon as he scored it. I was the only person in the room who thought Zidane's was better, but it was.
The technique on Zidane's is completely out of this world, but Bale for the spectacle takes it for me.
Whether he would have gotten to it or not, Karius didn't even try for Bale's goal. He never fully extends his arms.
Overhead kicks obviously require a certain technique, but you are basically directing it towards goal. You can't pick your spot with them. Zidane picked the top corner out with his ten minutes before it hit his foot, which is why it will always be better than any bicycle/scissor goal.
Anyway lads, sign the petition:
It seems to mainly be seething Egyptians rather than Scousers, and aren't they the biggest bunch of spirit-defying cunts in the whole footballing world?Sergio Ramos intentionally kept Mohamed Salah's arm under his armpit, causing dislocation of his shoulder. Not only missing the rest of the game, but also missing the FIFA World Cup 2018... Sergio Ramos represents an awful example to future generations of football players. Instead of winning matches fairly, he uses tricks that defy the spirit of the game and fair play.
Hot take: Would Zidane be a successful manager at another club? Will we ever find out?
Also, it's astonishing that he's pretty close to being even more successful as a manager than he was as a player. France next, I assume.
Why would we never find out? He'll get sacked by Real at some point one would assume.
He does well to keep everyone going and interested (although botching the league raises questions there), but the squad he has at his disposal is clearly ninety per cent of it. Even at the height of 'Pep Watch' I was willing to concede that he was doing something different. Madrid play the same as everybody else. They just have good defenders, the best midfield in the world, several quality attackers, and Ronaldo wasting big teams on his own. Arsene Wenger could win the Champions' League with that lot. He's more Luis Enrique than 'Pep'.
