I've been watching that Manhunt: Unabomber thing on Netflix. Got one episode left. It's alright but nothing special.

It has got future @igor_balis in it though:

Four in now and it's fucking great.

Did you finish Counterpart? I thought there was one dud episode but on the whole it was excellent. Simmons somehow got more nuanced and impressive as it went and there's probably an argument to be made that he actually gave four distinct performances over the series.

It's fantastic, isn't it? I think the end of episode three:

Was the point at which I decided I needed to just blast through all the remaining episodes. I kind of wish I had slowed down a bit now though, because I miss it. There's really not a remotely even average episode amongst them.

I got about half way through Counterpart. I'll go back to it and finish it up now, if the season is over.

I enjoyed it, but I agree it was nothing special. I didn't like the way they "Hollywood-fied" certain aspects of the case, but I suppose it's to be expected.

Yeah the season finished a couple of weeks ago.

Get on The Terror. Based on things you've mentioned in this thread before I reckon you'll love it.

    The Terror looks really cool.

But also a bit dark and I like my casual comedies.

Glenn Howerton's new show A.P. Bio is pretty good. He's basically playing Dennis again (albeit a more intelligent Dennis) so if you like It's Always Sunny, you'll like it.

I just watched the first episode of the new series of the Crystal Maze with the record-breakingly bad contestants. At one point one of them looked at a little stepladder to get them into the next room and said "How do I climb this?" so frankly I think they should consider it a win that none of them died.

That was truly spectacular. I feel like he offered them way more help than usual, but they were too stupid to listen to him. He must have told them where the mistake was in the synonym game 3 times (if not more) and they just ignored him.

Yeah, the synonyms were a particular highlight. I mean he sometimes gives pretty strong hints but in that he was literally telling them where they'd fucked up.

Watched the first 7 episodes of The Terror over the weekend. Really enjoying it, it deserves the praise it's getting in this thread. I have no idea what's going to go down in the final three episodes.

I set up TV Time on my phone today. It alerts you to when new episodes of shows you watch are on, including new seasons. Perfect for those of you who download everything every week.

Good torrent sites have a notification system that automatically informs you when new episodes of a show you watch come out.

What are you getting for that referral?

Its top. I didn’t know Handsmaid Tale was already two episodes in. That shall never happen again now.

We both get one month free VIF whatever that is, but I’ve already got it. I just copied the link from another forum as figured some people on here may want to set it up. If you don’t want a free premium month just search your phones AppStore for TV Time.

It stays that way for most of season 1 and then suddenly actually becomes good.

Latest season has largely been meh but the last couple of episodes were really good.

I really enjoyed The Terror. I didn't quite predict the ending, but I guessed something along those lines. I felt like a unique show - I can't really compare it to anything else I've seen.

Arrested Development Season 4 Remix: Fateful Consequences will be released on Netflix this Friday.

Hurwitz has decided to re-edit season 4 into 22 episodes with all Bluths in every episode.

Will be interesting to see if this makes the season any better.

Since I caught up with all existing Brooklyn Nine Nine episodes, I've started watching Parks and Recreation from the start. Into the 3rd season now and it has me somehow, and I'm not sure why because on the surface, it just seems like a slightly worse version of The Office. Still, I really like it so I'm not complaining.

Parks gets better as it goes on I think. I'm about season 4 but I like it. First series of b99 isn't really doing it for me.

It's not bad but I really didn't like the Rashomon style they had to employ due to scheduling.

Not a patch on the first two seasons.

Series 4 definitely wasn't as enjoyable as the others, it's weird though, it's a lot better once you've watched the whole thing than it seems to be when you're watching it. It will be interesting to see how it compares once it's been re-worked.

Is Taskmaster a whole new series or just a two-parter? I'll wait for the rest if there's going to be a whole series.

Can't remember who else watches The Americans but does anyone else think the latest season isn't that good? I think I've seen three episodes now and I'm losing interest. It's the last one though, isn't it? Might as well see it out now.

    @phonics

I've finally taken you up on your long standing Person of Interest recommendation, and I'm really enjoying it. I won't lie, I found it to be a bit of a slog at first. I stalled a bit about five or six episodes in and thought about giving up, but then the episode where they first introduced Elias really piqued my interest, and then a few episodes after that I was totally hooked in by the one where:

    Toggle Spoiler

Since then they've really started examining the backstory and tying all the various threads together, and it feels a lot less like a "case of the week" thing and more like a fully formed story.

Also, I initially thought that Jim Caviezel playing Reese as this relatively silent, tough guy type would start to wear thin but it's actually had the opposite effect, I just think it's cool as fuck now every time he turns up and decks everybody.

It is the last season, yeah. Every time a new season of it starts I watch the first couple and then tail off. I always come back to it though. It's just that, for some reason, it's a show that I find almost impossible to watch as it airs each week. It always results in me losing interest. But if I can watch them all back to back I generally really enjoy it.

Parks and Rec is done by the same people as Brooklyn Nine Nine, but the characters have far better depth and the storylines don't become one note Peralta-Holt fests.

It's from the same era as The Office. It's just different.

The show gets even better when Adam Scott and Rob Lowe have their characters introduced.

    I disagree.

I hated Rob Lowe's character although he does seem to grow on me after every re-watch.

I only watched a 2 or 3 episodes of AD season 4 and lost interest. I'll definitely be giving it a go again with this.
Same here. Actually looking forward to it. And then season 5!

The American version of Taskmaster is, as expected, complete bobbins. One episode in and there's already been CGI, and the 'do something in reverse' challenge, for which they were given one hour prep time, featured both a flag with 'Impeach Trump' stitched into it, and a professionally printed sign complete with a fairly complex logo.

It probably doesn't help that one of the contestants is a pound shop Joan Rivers, but it's crap anyway.

Being crap at things and self deprecation are important qualities of the show, no surprise that an American version doesn't do that properly.
