I bought Japanese whisky (Nikka) for the first time after wanting to try it for quite some time. It’s ok, but I do prefer most Scottish single malts over it.

I think I had the Nikka coffee one but was drunk and can't remember. I really like the Yamazaki though.
I'm into that. Will keep you posted.
I've just opened banana bread beer by Wells. Initial thoughts are if I had more than one bottle I'd drink this all night. Dangerously good.
People always think that with ones like that, and then by number 3 they're completely sick of it.
True. It could be similar but I do love banana bread.
The Aldi pils is decent as well - Perlenbacher.
The wife said she’d pick me a beer out the conservatory to have with my curry. Only got me a bloody stout.
I mean it’s really nice, but doesn’t go with a curry. Was hoping for that can of piss lager I still have from Switzerland.

Got a bottle of Blackwoods 60 gin at Christmas that I've been putting off opening because the very notion of sixty percent gin gives me gut rot. Opened it last night and good heavens, it's dangerous. It doesn't taste significantly stronger than normal stuff but it will blow your head off.
Nothing exciting going on but I've got a few cans of Old Engine Oil to see me through the Owl. It really is lovely stuff.
Keeping it clean with a few bottles of Staropramen, which, given I'm going to be up at 6 in all likelihood is a poor idea.
Seen panic over this on Twitter.

Only night in - other than Tuesday - since last weekend until my 21st on Monday. No better time to bring out the abundance of Merlot I’ve been bought. Beautiful.
Innis & Gunn Gunnpowder for me tonight.
Their stuff always reads like the sort of thing I'd enjoy but I haven't found one by them I've really liked yet.
Some serious friendzoning going on in the background of that Waff picture. Also some serious need for a new table.
This is one of my favourite things on the internetz: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-trending-37363350
Trying this Guinness Milk Stout and it might be the best thing I've had of theirs.
Aldi Scottish beer fest is on now. I've had Cafe Racer which is included before and it's fucking smashing so I'll be getting in about some more of that.
Shouldn't really be drinking but I'm heading to the Bru House in town tonight. Their stuff is lovely in bottles so looking forward to some proper pints of it.
Dark Matter, Fiery Ginger Beer and root ginger as a garnish. YUM.
Not massively into hoppy beer but I really bloody like Purity's Longhorn. Super smooth.
The shit you give people for what they drink, Magic, and you're putting root ginger in your booze?
Don't tarnish my garnish.
Finishing up a couple I got from work. Lancaster Bomber is nowt special but it's alreet. Pedigree's kinda nice. I'm not good at this. I tolerate most drinks.
I’ve had a bud light and some Langley Gin.
Having a beer described as a "whisky infused blood orange marmalade pale ale." It's smashing.
Not enough roots in there for you?
How was that Bru House place you went to?
Certainly in Scotland brewpubs seem to be becoming more of a thing, though probably slow. In Shilling in Glasgow you can see all the gear where they brew their stuff through glass behind the bar.
Some Irish stuff on in Brewdog, @Giggles.
White Hag - The Puca
Kinnegar - Noch Eins
Kinnegar - Big Bunny
Dot Brewing - American Stout
Boundary - Gift
Had any of them? The first sounds like it'd be lovely or awful with lemongrass, ginger (alright, Magic?) and hibiscus. Last one just sounds like a big, beefy stout you could damage yourself on.
So I had The Puca and Gift. Both are nice. Puca is far less weird than it sounds and would be bang on for guzzling in a beer garden in summer. Gift is basically the strong stout you described us getting wankered on in a theoretical meet in the last WDYTOE.
Couldn't have told you based on that because it was on tap so it's for the best you were able to work it out.
It was really good though. At that strength you could be on it all day.
Just went down to the offie get some White Hag (Damn you @Ian), they had the lemon sour and got some of the session IPA too. The lad asked me if I wanted a bag and he gave me a tidy little Franciscan Well 6 tin cooler bag for free.
EDIT: Got a can of White Hag New England IPA and a stout called Laídir which should be good because it's the Irish word for strong. Never tasted either before.

Got some promising stuff at Good Spirits Co, yesterday.
Couple of Tiny Rebel ones (Stay Puft and Chocolate Stay Puft, two variants on a marshmallow porter, which is a new one on me but I love Tiny Rebel's stuff so I have high hopes), Nøgne Ø (had to copy-paste the funny vowels) Imperial Stout and one of had before and is one of my favourites: Caribbean Chocolate Cake.
What an evening it's going to be.
EDIT: The two Tiny Rebel ones were nice, this Imperial Stout is very nice indeed.

Picked up some bottles of this today in Newry. Not expecting a big pile as stuff like IPA would be seen as for 'fruity boys' in the wee country, but it was only 72p a bottle.
I've just opened one of these: https://www.sharpsbrewery.co.uk/our-...evensouls.html
And it's a pleasant surprise. Not a huge fan of Sharps but this is pretty decent.
Got a bottle of 'Drumshanbo Gunpowder' gin as a gift so I've opened that tonight and it's not bad.
That Yardsman is surprisingly nice for the money. Serious value.
Got a subscription to Beer52 from my workmates for my birthday and the first lot came today. Surprisingly good selection - bit of FourPure and some other breweries I'd not heard of (it's the ones in the main picture here: https://www.beer52.com).
Appleton Estate Reserve Blend Rum, 70 cl https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01BNUC8..._ct16Ab3R74ZH5
Cracking rum this.
