I think his injury record has played against him, as well as other goalkeeper's doing well in his absence (Elliot, Darlow, and we've high hopes for Freddie Woodman)
Because Krul has tenure, he's on quite big money, and Benitez seems to trust Elliot, leaving Krul kicking about doing nothing.
