Just seen this. I was going to get the Nintendo mini but might hold off for this.
I'm very much interested.
Any price rumours?
Is it a game or system? Always interested in some Nintendo.
System. Looks like its combining their handheld and console markets with a modular tablet thing. Looks interesting but might be too big for a commute. What I'd really like is for them to crack wide-open their Virtual Console pricing.
Ah right. Fuck that so. I want to see a proper system I can play on my TV rather than this mobile gaming shite.
You can play it on the TV.

Yea it's a proper console that turns into a handheld, like the Wii-U but taken one step further. Looks amazing to be honest. That Zelda game is going to be immense too.
The thing to consider is where it's getting the power from. Is it a low resolution screen that when docked uses the a CPU in the base to upscale it? Or is the power in the tablet bit with a terrible battery time? I don't see how they can have both.
Looks awful. Having all these interchangeable controllers, screens is an absolute nightmare. Nobody will even use the mobile system, it just isn't practical.
Nintendo are a fucking car crash who don't realise their time is done. Make games for mobile or eat shit and die. No-one will buy your bullshit hardware any more outside of Japanese deviant and Cheetos-fingered Reddit man-children
The problem is it isn't a handheld console, it is a games console which becomes portable for whatever reason. Have you seen the size of the fucker? No one is going to lug one of those around, bearing in mind they more than likely already have a phone and/or a tablet. Also having those little side controllers which can detach is stupid, firstly because they seem to be designed for tiny hands and secondly because they will easily get lost.
Whatever wanky new bollocks Nintendo comes up with won't matter as long as they can get developers and publishers on board with some decent games, plus it'll sell eleventy million in Japan anyway.
I will make one prediction, I bet they're hard to get hold of at release. Not because it'll be that popular but because they'll under-produce it so there's lots of stories about how it's sold out everywhere.
It looks the same size as a Kindle or an iPad mini...
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2016/1...sual-analysis/That analysis shows the Nintendo Switch has a roughly 6.5" screen and individual controllers slightly smaller than those on the NES.
So about an inch bigger than an iPhone 7 plus. FUCKING HUUUUUUUUUUGE.
Much too big to be playing games with a controller input method. Maybe once I get my hands on it and give it a go, it might be fantastic to use, but at the moment it looks like it will be a pain.
Then dock it to your TV and play with a normal controller?
Did anyone get one?
Not yet as there's about 3 games including Just Dance.... but I will get one when there's enough games to make it worth it.
My friend got one on launch & he's coming round with it tomorrow evening, so it'll be interesting to see how amazing Zelda is, and how shit everything else is.
I really think they've botched it yet again here. One notable title at release (although Zelda is a console seller) and they've priced it about £50 too high.
Plus I've been hearing horror stories about the memory, only 32GB and can only be expanded through SD Cards.
I want one. Really, really badly. As a PC gamer the consoles offer me nothing outside of the odd exclusive but the idea that I could bring this to work and just play Zelda, which coincidentally looks like one of the coolest games ever, on my lunchbreak is enough to make me consider taking the dive. Even at that awful price. I'd be fine with the price if you got the Pro Controller as well but the fact that you don't get a game let alone the controller is just mental.
Jesus, it's £280? For some reason I had it in my head it was around the £220 mark especially as one of the websites was doing it for £198 as a pre-order.
I'll be waiting for some deals then.
Mario Kart is a re-release of 8 which I hated. Splatoon is a crap shooter. No idea what Marios going to be like. It's a bit shite really.
So far so Nintendo. Still at least you can pay for a 30 year old rom that you get to keep for a whole month!
I'm also willing to bet that Zelda has a dungeon where you lower the water level and one based around switches that change the landscape around in some way, because they all do.
Chance of playing pirated games on it though like the DS with flash cards?
I'm waiting til they do a revision.
I've just bought a second hand Wii U with Pro Controller for £150. Guy I know was sent two copies of the new Zelda due to Amazon fuck up, so he's lending me his spare.
Just get a cheap Wii U and play Zelda, there's barely any fucking difference between the two bar Wii U is 720p, Switch is 900p(!). Joke of a machine.
Also, the frame rate is horrendous on the new Dragon Quest, its not even an intensive game.
I got one. It's incredible. What a solid piece of tech. If it came with Twitter and a SIM slot I could almost consider getting rid of my phone.
Where did you steal it from?
From this month on, I'm debt free. 2 years of back taxes, 4 months of rent and another grand in living expenses paid off in 6 months.
I'm in the green baby
Are there any non-Zelda good games out for it yet?
Puyo Puyo Tetris?
Finally picked one up today as Smyths Toys had a bundle with Zelda. It's amazing.
My brother brought his Switch over. Mario Kart is great.
I might have to pick one up in a few months but that would mean no PS4 Pro for me right now (my current PS4 is louder than Magic's wife with the kickboxer).
Who has got one then? Get your friend codes out
Will find mine in a bit.
Friend code is SW-5338-9618-7876
Just pricing up a bundle here - might pick one up next week. Apart from the console + games, what other shit do I need? A docking station seems pretty essential. Anything else? Chargers/batteries/other portability-enabling things?
I'm kinda in the same boat. If I get anything, it'll be storage. The thing comes with a dock as standard.
A pro controller maybe?
It comes with a docking station. The only thing I'd recommend is getting some form of pro controller for when you're sitting down. The rest is just nonsense they sell to idiots.
Edit: there is one thing, a micro SD card for storage. Make sure to check the type though as Nintendo only accepts certain ones.
Alright cool, thanks chaps.
If it comes with a docking station, why are they selling this: https://www.game.co.uk/en/nintendo-s...tation-1891389 ?
A case with slots for your games and one of these stands for train journeys - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01...w4L&ref=plSrch better viewing angles than kickstand and let's you charge whilst playing.
I've never had the joycons die on me yet, so I'd recommend holding off on buying batteries, see how you get on without.
Yeah and theyre so light (it's literally a cheap piece of plastic with a couple of ports in)
