I have a big chunky fan from the 1980s which stays on all night and turns my room into a Mecca of cool, like Ronnie Scott's circa 1965.

Utter shit. Miserable.
Weather is crap too. May as well be independent.
I might just sleep in the garden tonight. It'd probably be worth getting bitten to shit to get a good night's sleep.
There's something to be said for rigging a one man tent up.
There's a sheet of tarpaulin I could wrap myself up in.
Tents are brutal when you wake up though
Sticky as a bakers bollocks. I've been peeling my Jacobs off my thigh all day.
It's warm here but in no way nice, grey skies all day but 24°. My balls will need to be jimmied off my leg later on.
That doesn't sound like something Jimmy would be in to.
Today was hot. Sitting in a car all day when it's hot isn't good, even with maximum air con blasting.
So when I got in from work I veeted my complete down-belows. Tomorrow shall hopefully be much more comfortable.
Also put a bit of veet in my nostrils to get rid of any excess nose hair.![]()
I'm a twit
It's currently "33" degrees here in sunny Orlando.
And rainin' memes.
Full-body hairless is the only true way to avoid the heat. Trust me, I'm a doctor.
Went out on the bike and got fucking drenched.![]()
47.3C in Cordoba today.
A new Spanish record high.
Rain, when you've got something to do, can be quite nice. Rain, when you have nothing to do, is so fucking irritating.
Other way around mate
Well, I had work in mind with "something to do" but if you've got to skirt about town then its a pain, aye.
It's bad enough that you can see it getting dark earlier and earlier at this time of year but the weather here's been so fucking shit for the last month it's making it even worse. It might as well be Autumn already.

Irma is about to go in. One of the strongest ever.
Why the hell would anyone want to live in Florida?
I like to think the two sentences were stand alone in nature.
Sharknado is gonna be real
Are you likely to have to evacuate @bruhnaldo?
All of the US has to deal with something: hurricanes, tornados, fires, lead in the water...
Pig in a wig as president
The reporting of hurricanes (over here) really annoys me, we have British subjects and crown dependencies, not to mention whole other small countries, being blown away by this but the focus is always OH MY GOD IT MIGHT HIT AMERICA in 72 HOURS!!!!!
90% of buildings destroyed in Antigua. Fucking hell.![]()
That's in Barbuda. Only one dead which is a pretty solid effort.
The crown dependencies are too small to provide dramatic helicopter footage and NARRATIVE, unfortunately.
The footage I've seen is pretty fucking dramatic.
Not of long traffic tailbacks with gratuitous shots of law enforcement personnel 'taking charge'.
I watched a documentary about NELSON'S DOCKYARD in Antigua the other day. Sounded like hell on earth.
Nah, we're a good 70 miles inland. Most of the most damaging stuff happens closer to shore. Our biggest concern will likely be tornadoes and things like that. That being said, the bottom right quadrant of the storm is the strongest and generally produces the most tornadoes. That bit will likely end up staying offshore and away from us.
I'll probably end up at the hospital my mom works at hanging out there. More likely to keep power throughout obviously.
Really? I thought the strongest winds were around the eye and that was going bang up the middle of the state?
Well the winds are stronger closer to the center, yes, but in Florida everything is built to a pretty high wind standard so generally the wind isn't the main problem.
Mind you, the pressure + wind can shatter windows ... the wind can pick up loose debris and send it flying like a missile ... all of that is very dangerous but since most people are indoors/boarded windows that type of stuff isn't usually what causes the loss of life here in Florida anyways.
As far as the eye goes:
Most of the models have it slamming into my old hometown down south ()and then bouncing off along the coastline.
If that holds true, we'll surely get some hurricane force winds, rain, and things of that nature. The storm is much too big to not cause any damage to us here in the center of the state. But it'll mostly be vegetation ripped up, roofs coming apart, trees and things hitting cars/homes.. things of that nature.
The winds aren't to mess with though. This is a shot from Andrew back in '92

they're expecting the same type of landfall unfortunately. i'm quite a bit nervous for all of my friends back down home to be honest.
Yeah, I'd be shitting myself. Although a small part of me would love to experience what it's like. Stay safe anyway, we'd have a serious lack of dank memes if you carc it.
If I lived in its path I'd be in the car right now, driving to Kansas to stay in the cheapest motel I could find and live on drive-thru McDonalds for the next month before returning to survey the wreckage.
Kansas you'd probably die a tornado-related death too. It's not safe anywhere man.
Wyoming then, assuming there's enough petrol in the world to drive there.
Go to San Francisco, where the weather is bland and the people are insufferable.
SF just had its record highest temperature a few days ago, topped 104 I think.
not that you're wrong
