Boydy engaging in a bit of class warfare.
Boydy engaging in a bit of class warfare.
I'm siding with Boyd on this one, to be honest. First Dates is reality TV and it has no place in this thread.
Gogglebox and Firstdates = Golden age of TV
TV really is a bit piss poor these days, isn't it.
At the moment my weekly viewing rotation is Quantico (shit), Arrow (bad) and Castle (mindlessly dumb) and nothing else. I turned on that The Knick late last night and it seemed like it was going to be super depressing.
It's rubbish but somewhat watchable. Homeland meets Saved By The Bell is the best I can describe it.
Why do you watch things you don't enjoy?
He had a kid with it and now he has to pretend he likes it for the kid's sake.
It's better than Hollyoaks. By rubbish I don't mean actively bad but it's just twaddle to be on the background while you do something interesting with your time.
Bloke just got an injection of cocaine into the penis on The Knick. Blimey.
At what point does that become your best option?
The worst option was to reheat last nights leftovers while watching it.
By Bono's daughter into Clive Owen no less.
Edit: The cocaine into the dick, not the leftovers.
Where can I get a pair of Thack's shoes? (The white leather boots) They're boss.

Is that blood or shit dawbed on the front of them?
Blood. It's a medical show based in the early 1900s.
edit: And having finished the second episode, it's pretty good. Might be the new Boardwalk Empire (in that it's clearly bloody brilliant but it's still a bit boring)
Surprised not many people know about the show. It's superb.
It's on Cinemax.
P.S. What happened to that David Simon show about the Mayor of Harlem or whatever?
TV is as good as it's been for years. I reckon there are more genuinely brilliant shows on over the course of this year than there have been in any of the last few. 2008 stands apart, in that Mad Men was underway, Breaking bad kicked off, you had the final seasons of The Wire and The Shield, Sons of Anarchy started, which was great for about two years, Battlestar Galactica was at its best. I'm definitely forgetting a load of megahits and other quality programs.
And Chuck had its best season. Definitely not 'great', but for what it was season two of that was an almost perfect twenty odd episodes.
It isn't that TV is bad at the moment, it's that the good stuff is spread out over so many different networks, cable providers, and streaming services, that you actually have to look to find it.
Started watching Ballers and it is top.
Think I watched four episodes in a row. It's a bit like Entourage, and I noticed a lot of familiar names in the credits so I guess that explains that.
I'm a twit
Nah, it can go in shite. Or start a soap thread. Or an Eastenders thread. I think there was one on the last board but no one posted about it much.
This thread worked fine on the old board so I don't why you're being a knobhead about it now.
Those all sound fine, sure. No one person decides. If someone posts something that doesn't really belong here (like reality shite) then you'll get the reaction that we saw. It's hardly a big deal.
How bizarre. As a general rule, if it's scripted it goes in here, if it's reality it goes in the other one. I love the mention of a French subtitled program though, just to preemptively get a dig in at snobbery which doesn't exist.
The old TV Guide thread started out as a means of letting people know if something good was about to start on domestic TV here, but it gradually became about reality TV and the odd gem like 'The Trip'. That seemed like a handy divide, so it's been preserved in the new threads.
There is no panel making decisions on which shows you can or can't post about, and I'm sure this is about the fifth time I've had to tell you that.
Anyone find subtitles for season 2 of The Returned?
How good has season two of Fargo been so far? Season one obviously was really good, but I feel like this is noticeably better than that even.
Wait, is that Scream Queens thing new? I've just spotted a bird in the trailer that I'm near sure is Ariana Grande, but in the trailers the show itself looks late 90's.
She's in it.

The show is amazing.

They're pushing a trailer really heavily on E4 all week. I'd caught a few glimpses and thought it was some cult teen film from around American Pie times. Looks so old.
6 episode of under the dome and I don't get the bad reviews of you guys. Just awesome! Jim is a totally legend!
Finished Catastrophe, really good watch.
@Boydy season 2 starts tonight on C4.
Leftovers (season 1) is mental. Me and the missus absolutely love it.
Giving Supergirl pilot ep a watch.
A black Jimmy Olson!
The problem with the Supergirl pilot were the fight scenes, especially the one near the end.
Hopefully that is purely because it's a pilot though and they'll get better once the actual episodes are out.
Leftovers was brilliant. Barmy but satisfying. The music throughout was fantastic.
So Breaking Bad is back

Whoa.
I feel like it could dent the series' reputation by being awful in some way... But more likely it'll be really good, or at least as good as the dodgier episodes that popped up occasionally.
Somehow I doubt that the majority are. What a stupid decision.Breaking Bad fans around the world are celebrating
Typical Jeet

I'm blaming Regista.
