Army of One is a story about that nutter in America who went to Pakistan to find Bin Laden. It's also not very good, albeit I did enjoy Russell Brand's turn as God.

I found Sully to be really enjoyable and about as good as it could have been given the limited source material. Quite impressive that Eastwood could even get close to making a movie out of it, let alone come up with what what he did.

It's a shame that the whole 'out to get them' theme isn't exactly accurate. Taints it a bit for me although granted they needed some sort of drama in the film.

Any sign of Rogue One on Kodi yet? First few on the list last time I checked were cams.

I'd heard too that it was exaggerated and dramatic license taken, but it never felt too extreme for me (I suspect these investigations are very thorough) and it made for a brilliant final scene.

Captain Fantastic is so bloody good, I absolutely loved it.

Mr Church is boring Oscar bait, that not even a redemption-seeking Eddie Murphy (starring in the 'magical negro' role) can save.

Just seen Arrival. Slightly underwhelmed, but good nonetheless.
I thought the score was really off - they really needed someone Zimmerman, but I guess with him doing Interstellar, it would have been a bit awkward.

    One question though...

I watched The Girl On The Train which was depressing but okay. The one who plays Megan is weirdly super hot. Apparently it's a very good representation of the book.

She's one of those odd cases of an actress who comes out of nowhere and is suddenly in everything, having seemingly made about eight films at once.

    Anyone seen Nocturnal Animals?

I thought it was fantastic, a really clever story and the look of it is stunning. Really polished

Who knew Tom Ford could direct as well as that.

The score is good too, very Hitchock era.

I really enjoyed Silence. Took a while to get used to Spider-Man playing a priest, but after I got past that I thought Garfield was brilliant. The acting was very powerful throughout.

    Didn't even feel overly long.

I thought silence was alright. Garfield is brilliant in it but I did get a bit bored at some points. A solid 7/10 but nothing groundbreaking.

That also seems to randomly happen in the sense that a known but mediocre actor or actress all of a sudden turns out super-talented (like not making a one-off good film like many comedians tend to do, but proper turn badass at acting), like Matthew McConaughey.

The Nice Guys was.... weird. But quite good. It was kinda funny, but also kinda not so funny. Like you kind of sat the chuckling a bit but couldn't figure out if the film was making a joke or not. Worth the watch though.

Patriot's Day - Actually not that bad. It looks at the FBI/police angle, but also follows a few of the runners or people at the marathon. Its primarily about the aftermath, with the bombing basically happening within the first 40 minutes. It does go all MURICA at the end and slaps on the sentimentality (fantastic bit of HAVE FEELINGS HERE during a Wahlberg monologue) but its a solid film.

Hidden Figures - What could be a very interesting story gets too caught up in the saccharine, alongside the politics of the 60s. Plays a lot towards the Oscar nods with its constant portrayal of racism (albeit slight racism) and how these intelligent, bright women were kept down, but the actual story of what they did at NASA and the change it brought is fascinating. Essentially a lazy Sunday afternoon movie. Solid performances by the three leads.

Just watched Patriots Day. It should probably have been called Boston Strong, but other than that it was fairly enjoyable. Was surprised to see a rapper called Token pop up, albeit for about nine seconds. I'm going watching him next month.
