You'll probably end up having to use him as a tight end in three weeks time.
You'll probably end up having to use him as a tight end in three weeks time.
Justin Forsett has been cut
Ozzie must be on the fucking whiskey.
So Terrence West starting with Buck Allen (who was being projected to be cut) as backup until Lorenzo Taliaferro and Kenneth Dixon are back from injuries.
The Sanchize
Lol at that Bradford trade btw, fucking mental.
He's only signed for the Cowboys![]()
So apparently we've been trying to shop Bradford out since we saw Wentz debut. Our asking price was high and putting people off, but Teddys knee exploding pushed the Vikings into it as they think they've got a shot in the play-offs. The only problem for them is Bradford hasn't posted a winning season since 2008.
We've got our 1st round pick back and that 4th rounder could move up to a 3 or even a 2 depending how the Vikings do this season.
The problem is now Chase Daniel thought he was the backup to Bradford, but has been told Wentz is almost straight in the team when fit again. He's not a happy chappy.
A Football Life are finally going to cover Jim Brown![]()
Apparently there's a reasonable chance the Ravens will just re-sign Forsett to a lower contract.
He will be back.
We only have 2 fit RB's for the first 2, possibly 3 games.
Hester is also joining today.
I imagine that we'll move Elam to IR and cut one of the backup CB's to make room.
Money is usually guaranteed once a certain date is hit, then bonuses on top etc.
Does back teams/players up into a corner sometimes though.
Within a particular season of a contract perhaps. What I mean is if you sign a 3 year $10million contract, you should be getting $10million. What it really means is contracts are completely irrelevant if they're not 'guaranteed'.
Feel like the players union missed a trick within the whole CBA thing. The Bosa stuff this year also highlighted the flaws in the CBA. If 'star' rookies are feeling ripped off then somethings gone a bit wrong. It really shouldn't be difficult for the NFL to standardise it either.
Before I order Sky, are they actually showing the NFL on Sundays this year? They've nothing on their listings bar the small hours games on Thursday and Monday and Redzone for Sunday. Bit of a shitter of nobody is showing Sunday.
They are.
Next Sunday will be Packers/Jaguars and then Giants/Cowboys
So two of the guys who shouldn't have been cut (Ochi and Butler) got pissed that the Ravens wanted them for their practice squad and have gone and signed for the Jets and Buccaneers practice squads.
I would be shocked if a team doesn't put him on their active roster before this month is up.
He should have made the team last year but they put him on the practice squad and it's more stunning that he was cut that Forsett this year. Played well in games last year due to injuries and was making plays for fun in the pre-season.
I believe Sky are showing TNF, SNF and MNF as normal.
Not sure about the London games though.
The London games are usually on the BBC anyway.
The BBC have them again this year.
Where did you see the Sky line up for this Sunday evening @Mahow? I couldn't find anything bar Red Zone on their website.
Red Zone in HD for 4 weeks on SSMIX from Sunday.
So we've named Wentz as week 1 starter. I would not have predicted any of this when we drafted him.
Forsett has re-signed for us.
Be interesting to see what happens. It looks like the coaching staff see the number 1 as rooms Kenneth Dixon and Forsett would have stayed away had he been fit. RBBC with West until Dixon is back.
So apparently Bruce Miller went to a hotel on Sunday night and was told it was fully booked. He returned on Monday morning, knocked on a room's door at the hotel. A 29 year old male answered, told him he had the wrong room and Miller decided to fight with him.
The guy was staying with his 70 year old father and he tried to help his son so Miller punched him in the face and broke some bones. He was arrested after running to a hotel across the street where this video of him bloodied was captured:
49ers have since cut him and Miller is being charged for 'battery and assault with a deadly weapon, which was not a firearm. Miller also faces charges of aggravated assault, elder abuse, threats and battery'

Mental.
So the Saints have cut QB Garrett Grayson (last years 3rd rounder).
That leaves them with Brees and Luke McCown. They must have had zero faith in him going forward as a potential successor.
Lord Brees-us has signed a new 5 year contract(he's 37) that can void to 2 years. $44m fully guaranteed over the next 2 seasons. It also has a no trade clause so he'll be retiring in New Orleans.
This also saves the Saints a shit load of money, while avoiding having to tag him going into next season. That would have cost them $43m in cap space alone.
Sounds like Denver's plan this year is to squeeze every penny they've paid for out of CJ Anderson, get Booker taking some of that load and basically trying to run a tedious ground-and-pound offense to protect Siemian and let the defense do the rest.
If the D follows up on last year and we have an eye-bleedingly hideous offense doing it's fair share I'll be loving life.

Got the same contract back too.The NFL's new injured reserve rule allows teams to designate one player for return as long as that player remained on the roster for one day after final cuts. Baltimore's brass wanted the option to designate either defensive tackle Carl Davis or safety Matt Elam for a midseason return.
The Ravens essentially convinced Forsett to function as a human loophole. As a vested veteran, he immediately reached free agency rather than being exposed to the other 31 teams on the waiver wire. The running back received a couple of calls over the weekend from interested teams, but no offers were close to Baltimore's.
To sweeten the pot, the Ravens included a $100,000 incentive if Forsett surpasses last year's rushing total of 641 yards.
Not a bad way to get round the new rule and what should be an easy extra $100k for Forsett.
Noticed that the UK could finally use Draftkings
I'm in the following contests:
With these two lineups:
How much will I get back from my $13-odd? Probably nothing.
I still don't get what they actually did with Forsett from that article. Why is it of benefit regarding Davis or Elam?
If they had moved Davis or Elam to IR before the final cuts they wouldn't have been able to do the IR with return. They'd have been out the whole season.
As it is one of them could start practising again in week 6 and be playing by week 8.
Davis will be the favourite unless we get some safety issues or a big name player gets injured for multiple weeks.

Reggie Yates presents a look at America as seen through the eyes of the NFL. Reggie travels to Green Bay, Wisconsin, to meet with the Green Bay Packers, visit a cheese factory and meet the superfans. The Packers are the only NFL team owned by their fans, and Reggie meets key local characters who epitomise the city's passion for the game. Travelling through the small town of Green Bay and the broader Wisconsin area, Reggie soon realises why they are considered to be the most hardcore supporters in the whole of the US.
Fuck Reggie Yates and fuck the Packers, it could have had potential without them.

TEBOWMANIA is back in New York with the Mets.
I've cracked open a beer and put some chips & onion rings in the oven
It's going to be 13-7 or something horrible, but who gives a shit, we have football again.
Yet another shit version of the American national anthem. Thanks
One day they'll get someone to sing it who doesn't just use it to show off how many different notes they can hit over the course of a single word with no interest in actually singing a song well. Taking a breath mid-way through a word is the sign of a particularly excellent vocalist.
Big Trev looking better than Manning did last season.
I didn't realise Star Lotoulelei was part lion.
Denver looking much better than last year on offence. That's pretty worrying if their defence hasn't suddenly turned to shit.
What a great first carry, well played Booker.
BookerBet they wish they'd kept Hillman now.
Nah, don't throw to Benjamin. He doesn't need yards or touchdowns. While you're at it Cam, don't bother throwing to Olsen either.
Janovich showing Booker what to do on the first carry of your career.
He's been a beast this far, blocking so well for Anderson.
What a mong, jumping for that.
Looks like Cam might've picked up a knock on that sack from DeMarcus Ware...
