Barnsley have made more from John Stones moving to City than their annual turnover last year.
It might as well be, to be honest.
City have literally unlimited resources and need homegrown players, so Everton could pretty much name their price.
It still means they lose one of their best footballing assets and get a jobber. The football media hasn't yet adjusted to money now being irrelevant within the Premier League.

Gabriel Barbosa, 27m

If Leicester sign Barbosa and we don't make a move. I'm done.
Brazil doesn't do wonderkids anymore.
Have you seen the guy play? He's good.
Instead we're being linked to Mario Icardi who, from every highlight reel I've seen, hasn't scored more than 5 goals from outside the 6 yard area with the goalkeeper on the opposite side of the net in his entire career. A guy who's more famous for banging, and subsequently marrying, his best mates wife. At least Chelsea were decent when they were a bunch of overpaid scumbags.
It would be very Arsenal to be linked with Higuain for a decade then sign the wrong round faced Argie playing in Italy.
Can someone explain the Paulp Ogba meme to me?
Bolasie for a fee 'rising to £30m'.
Where do you even start with that.
Oddly enough I totally get it now.
Isn't it basically Neymar and half U21/half C team out there, though? Not surprised they're not meshing very well.
Personally, never much understood judging players too much on international performances for that reason.
Paul Mitchell would be a decent replacement for Steve Walsh Leicester if he signs.
Despite the horrible shite that has come along with this transfer and the window in general, I'm really glad that we've gotten all (or the significant portion) of our business done before the season starts. The last few years have been a farce.
Gives the fees for the attacking players during this window. £23m for a player with that pedigree is great business if true. Yes, brazilian attackers generally speaking havent been that consistent in the premier league, but if anyone can turn that around its leicester. Sign him up.
Should Sissoko just knuckle down and admit it's not happening?
Fuck me, at least I could pretend that Icardi might not be bang average. Now we're linked to Wilfried 'Score the 3rd in a 3-1 win' Bony.
For £30m as well, about 3 days after City were reported to be desperate to sell and would take £15m. Doesn't sound likely.

You bastard.
Turns out Leicester have bought Barbosa to replace Mahrez going to Arsenal. I'm slightly less angry about it now.
Go on, bring in Mahrez now you fucking cunts.
If he manages to avoid missing half the season with an unspecified injury, you could see him being nowhere near as effective as he was last year. I'm not saying FOUND OUT, but the way Arsenal play, and how they tend to dominate, I would expect the piss and the wind to become a lot more apparent.
Agreed, Lewis. Mahrez is the typical player who benefits from faceing defenders on the back heel, with lots of space on the counter.
That always happens with overperforming teams of low-mid tier level in the PL. See: Ashley Young, Victor Moses...
It's what will happen to Mahrez, and also probably Mané (although with the way Klopp plays, Mané has a better chance at doing something I think, but probably wont).
Mahrez ain't going Arsenal lads.
And he's fucking quality and would be a success anywhere.
Mane joining liverpool is a step down, not a step up
Besides, Arsenal have an insane amount of midfielders already.
Basically for the two central spots:
Xhaka, Coquelin, Elneny, Ramsey (?), Wilshere (?), Cazorla (?)
For the No 10 spot:
Almost anyone, but: Ozil, Ramsey (?), Wilshere (?), Cazorla (?)
For the wings:
Sanchez, Iwobi, Chamberlain, Walcott, Cazorla (?), Ramsey (?)
In total it's something like 11 midfielders competing for 5 places (but in reality almost more like 8 players competing for 3, since Sanchez and Ozil should both be quite given).
It just makes absolutely no sense to look for more midfielders. Chamberlain has had a good pre-season (for what thats worth...) and has just as much chance of success as Mahrez.
Arsenal should just spend all their money on CB and maybe a striker, although they may be able to get away with playing Sanchez up front, I dunno.
Sunderland to sign McNair and Love. https://www.theguardian.com/football...ir-donald-love
I can't remember how Love did but McNair showed some potential. Seems cheap when every man and his dog is costing £25m.
Love is shit, I thought. He's not really Premier League standard. £6m for McNair is a good signing, though.
McNair is garbage.
Arsenal will have around half those midfielders done by injury at some point @Mazuuurk
The windows isnt shut yet but they really do need another center forward. Asking a 30 year old grioud to do it for five seasons in a row is a big ask. He should be backup to someone. There isnt any decent youngster coming through yet in that position?
Chuba Akpom!
But yeah, yeah Giroud should be the backup. He's great to have to throw into games for a late equalizer or winner in the box.
Carlton cole has joined a USA third tier team
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/footb...ento-republic/
Presumably has had some injuries or has stopped looking after himself? Difficult to turn from decent into useless that quickly.
I still find this Ashley Williams deal seriously lol. Arsenal could have done (and will do) a lot worse.
