    Arrow Clothes

    I've just bought some clothes:

    Click 'em.

Top one is cos I wanted a plain grey sweatshirt or longsleeved tshirt because I wanna look like a Michael Schofield Prison Break Season One badass.
Next one was only £7 and I don't have a top that colour.
The gloves were £2.50 reduced from £18 and I have no gloves.
The print tshirt I dunno. It says white but looks more grey, which I hope is the case, and it only cost £6.50.
And the last cos I'm still on the hunt for a well fitting white tee that you can't see my big brown beastie burger nips through. At £4 it's more hope than expectation.

    But yeah, clothes thread.

By the way I recommend you all buy your stuff through Quidco if you don't already. I've had nearly £300 of free money from them.

Got a few bits recently -

Need to get some longsleeves T's, as I'll have a fresh tattoo this time next week and then off on sunny holiday a fortnight afterwards, so it's either that or wear a big tubigrip type affair.

    It's funny how tastes vary.

I couldn't picture a moment where I would think "yeah, this looks good" to anyone wearing any of those.

Unless the bottom one was bought for a "shit shirts" night.

Got a pair of these from Muji in Birmingham the other week. It's been a nightmare finding trousers at the moment as the thigh width is always so small.

Depends on the build. My thighs are bigger than what appears to be the average size in shops. Think Ross and the leather pants in Friends minus the powder and the lotion. And the leather.

I can't stand Jeans with a wide foot. (is that what you call it? the end part) They just sort of hang off my shin it looks a bit stupid. The problem is I'm too fat for slim fit still.

Merse's taste in clothing always astonishes me.

My outlook on clothes has been revolutionized in recent times by the discovery of a few old flannel shirts in my closet. They're really comfortable and they look nice, too. My days of only ever wearing t-shirts may have come to an end.

That's a bizarre batch of clothing from Merse. A jacket with a skull on it, a tshirt with the grim reaper on it, one with a gravestone on it, a jacket that says 'dead', and then the most garish shirt since Alfie Moon.

They're 90s throwbacks for losers that think they're Kurt Cobain.

Skeletons are going through a real revival in punk/streetwear/hipster stuff. Sketchy tanks designs are proper as far I'm concerned.

The 'Dead' thing is as the Harrington and the shirt are by Drop Dead. The latter is something best seen I think, very floaty, silky - kinda asian - very 60's. It's gone down really well in company. Needs to be worn with the right gear, mind.

What? They were massive! Generation X was permanently clad in flannel, whether at grunge gigs or Kevin Smith screenings.

Yeah, people wore them, like they have for decades, because they're a fairly standard item of clothing.

They were far more visible in the early 90's. The eighties had them as very much an item for a very particular subculture, whilst they were more of a utility thing before that. but the 90's saw them become truly fashionable.

I definitely didn't mean to suggest nobody wore them but surely if it's a "throwback", the 90s kids were also doing it as a throwback to something else.

Anyway, a better angle on this is probably just to lol at Magic and the drawers full of Superdry t-shirts he probably owns.

Yes! I was trying to think of a brand like that which has huge logos across their t-shirts to throw in to my jeans and white trainers insult. That's the one. Thank you.

I actually agree with Magic more than any of you do. The ones I have look different than the modern ones somehow, and they are a lot older (so more "authentic" if you're complaining about throwbacks); when I looked for more flannel shirts online none of them appealed to me at all. It's the difference between looking like a "bohemian farmer," as my friend said, or looking like a kid who still listens to Nirvana alone in his room.

I really like the flowery shirt, Merse. Not so sure about the spooky skellington shit though. The only reason I could see for someone wearing it would be to get off with dubiously aged kerrang readers. If that's what you have in mind go fill you boots. The ones with the pentagram laces.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Is it, "I agree most people look like losers who want to be Kurt Cobain, but when I do it it's actually different"?

Because if so, lol at you.

I mentioned this to you privately, but for the purposes of others who have the same issue, the Divided Grey (H&M) Super Skinny Fit jeans are phenomenal for this. Slim-fitting but stretchy and breathable.
