First time I've tried them and I had to come here to recommend them to you all. I know Lewis is a fan of good crisps. These are a proper throwback to the days of Discos, blue flavour Pringles and Co-op's own salt and vinegar being amazing because they would melt your face, before they all got toned down.
I've just finished a pack and immediately have an ulcer on my tongue.
Get involved before mumsnet or Jamie Oliver or some other cunt does.
I can't see any photo but salt and vinegar are bottom of the pile.

The stuff left in the bottom of a bag of Discos was like some kind of biological weapon, I'll be getting some of these to see if they can live up to the hype.

I think I'm a bit addicted to 'crisps.' I hardly ever eat them, but I do get cravings once in a while.
Nothing has ever appeared to beat McCoys cheese and onion for me. Tayto (Golden Wonder) came close with Rough Cuts cheese and onion but not quite.
Normal Tayto cheese and onion are the best.
I used to drink with a fella worked in there. It's supposedly a rat infested mess.
They're delicious so I don't care.
McCoys are pretty great, I'm not sure they can be beaten.
Most of them are made in England anyway so I wouldn't worry.

I haven't seen those crisps. I bought a 'New York cheesecake' from Co-op last night. It was 59p, reduced from two quid, even though it had two days left on it. I would have bought all ten of them, but they claimed not to be suitable for freezing. I also bought a reduced Easter egg from Thorntons today when me and my friend were going round the pubs. It was two-fifty, reduced from seven quid(!), and I got them to write our names on it. Unfortunately, he was pretending to be ill, and nobody in the pub wanted any, so I had to chuck half of it.
I really miss those sweet chili Kettle Chips from theu UK. I think I've seen them once somewhere in Finland, but can't remember at all where that was. I only tend to eat crisps after a night out or one of those really small ones after training if I'm craving for some salt.

The UK does chips (ok, crisps), extremely well. The variety is amazing.

Asda do rip-offs of Walkers Sensations that are actually better, for all the Asda/crisp fans.

These are my all time favourites:

Why can't you buy them anywhere anymore?
Maybe because it's I'm in London, but here they're fairly common. Tend to see them in newsagents and corner shops quite frequently.
You can still get them in shitty little newsagents. They're in the Toffypops bracket of amazing things supermarkets seem to have decided en masse are off the menu.
Crisps are all about context, yo. If I'm having them as an accompaniment to a sandwich, I'll go with high-quality but plain ones (i.e. salted kettle chips or any of the similar rip-offs) so they give you the crunchy counterpoint to the soft sandwich without overshadowing the flavours of your fillings, but if I'm having them as a standalone snack I'll have slightly WACKIER flavours.
Ready salted
Thankfully that's one remnant of Britain that never held over here.
The spicy chilli ridge cut kettle chips are pretty good, although maybe not s good as their McCoys counterparts (do they still exist?). Tyrells also do a (semi mythical) beef and horseradish flavour in the oeuvre of the great Brannigan, but it never seems to be on sale where everything else they do is ubiquitous.

I do not understand salt & vinegar. Just doesn't work for me as a flavour combination.
Salt and vinegar McCoys are always my choice if they are available. Chili heatwave Doritos are also decent.
Salt and vinegar crisps on a ham and cheese sandwich is life at its very best.

I've just opened a bag of 'Coconut Chicken Curry' crisps from Tesco and they're superb. They haven't opened up a wound on my tongue so they don't fit the original spirit of the thread, but they're worth mentioning.
I've been eyeing them up for a while now but thought they'd be shit, will have to take the plunge.
I reckon the best things for tongue ulcers are these.
Crisps
Those are shit hot. The curry ones are an absolute disgrace though.
Those new Jacob's crisps are good. The sour cream and chive, or whatever the green one is, are flavoured to within an inch of their life.
My flatmate rocked home with three bags of these as they where on offer at 12p a bag.
They're alright!
I've eaten more of these than I should have (by which I mean all of them) and they are/were great.
I was pretty much addicted to those, as well as they're peking spare rib crackers.
They are bloody delightful.
I've never understood why but the Swiss are truly crap at crisps. They understand the concept but I'm not sure they understand the reason they exist. All crisps are normal Walkers style and they come in three flavours; Ready Salted, 'Provencale' (Herbs/Chives basically) and Paprika and normally you have a choice between Ready Salted and Paprika. Thats it. You can be in an aisle full of crisps with 20 different brands, but they will be those three flavours and 'Snacketti' (which are the only brand that branch out into other flavours but the crisps are like Frazzles and they're a bit wank) that's your lot.
And gobbling them like a hungry mallard has only mildly lacerated my mouth. Which is nice.
French crisps are legitimately terrible for the same reason. 500 terribly thought through brands of exactly the same paprika crisps. I don't know why they bother making them. I've never seen a Frenchman eating crisps either.
What do they even culturally have in place of crisps? I can't think.
Charcuterie and cheese, which I have to admit the older I get the more it grows on me
