It's not Premiership-quality though. It's full of French chancers.
Yeah, we know that. But do the people who spent twelve million quid on Andros Townsend know that?
The head on Nasri. Needs a good clout.
Eyes right, skin back tight, bollocks to the front...
There's a few who only have a couple of months left on their contracts. Then almost half of the squad has a year left, think they'd be happy to cash in, they tried to ship both Tiote and Cisse out to China recently.
Lost causes like Riviere and Gouffran will be interesting ones, as they'll be on pretty big wages, they might just take the hit. Sissoko and Janmaat came in on the cheap, so they'll be gone.
Lol at the state of the newer signings though. Hopefully someone looks at Wijnaldum's goal record and takes a punt. They guy stopped giving a fuck ages ago.
The only players I'd hold on to are Townsend, the goalkeepers and Mitrovic. Shelvey's been a complete wet fart and Wijnaldum can't carry any more. There's going to be a purge which Nigel Pearson will probably oversee. That makes it sound like mass murder. I have no idea why we signed Saivet. Arguably our biggest problem is the recruitment record. We had one excellent summer but since Cabaye and Ben Arfa have left with Sissoko going completely off base.
Pace but no creativity.
As usual match day comes around and I'm convinced we're going to lose. I reckon Leicester fans are making history for enjoyng a title challenge less than any other set of fans ever. I'll be bald by the time Spurs kick off if I have to sit through another 1-0.
Reckon we'll see Leicester of November and a 0-3 win
I keep thinking this is the game that sees the bubble burst but I've been thinking that all season so....
I've binned all Leicester involvement in my fantasy team so expect a riot to be run. That's the plan, anyway.
I think this week's Guus Hiddink award for being a pointless mercenary bastard goes to Guus Hiddink. Pato and Falcao playing almost the full 90 between them, and Loftus-Cheek taken off for the latter. Head in hands stuff.
The title is yours Lee, I wouldn't even worry about it. There's no chance Leicester are dropping enough points and Spurs aren't going to win every game even if Leicester do slip up 3 times.
I remember on the final day of 2009/10 I went to the game against Wigan and I think we needed to win to take the title ahead of United, and I remember standing on the concourse being utterly convinced that we just weren't going to do enough and it wasn't going to happen.
Won 8-0.
There's an opportunity for them to run riot given Sunderland have to win and the home crowd should be ready for a good seethe. If they get frantic then Leicester should pick them off.
13 point lead with 18 to play for should just about seal it. 10 points and I'm still on the Arse bus.
Fucking Arsenal.
Even if we fuck it up Spurs are just a much better side than Arsenal this season. I stopped worrying about them the day they beat us in February. They just don't have it in them. If Arsenal get within a couple of wins of first place they'll shit themselves.
Anyway. Spurs will win today, I think. Stoke away next week is probably tougher for them than this one.
Spurs really don't count in all this. They've looked better before but the club doesn't have the required minerals.
If anything has proven that football clubs don't have personalities which doom them to permanent failure then it's us this season. A football club is a stadium and some fans. Everyone/thing else changes on a regular basis.
Spain were the biggest joke national team going. Until they weren't.
Spurs are probably out of the running but Arsenal certainly are. Man City will be lucky to hang onto 4th.
I do fancy us to gypo a win against Spurs today, so don't worry about your result Lee.
Giggles is a product of Tottenham's last 20 years, and it's fucking brilliant to see.
Souness seems to hate the idea of us winning the league. It's a bit odd. He looks really rough as well.
His team of the season was rather lol. Ivanovic?
Reality being a massive dick indicates that Spurs will win and Leicester lose today, so that's the result that's inevitable today.
@Giggles, you sound like somebody who convinces themselves of something because they've got money riding on it. Arsenal aren't going to win the league, in reality it's more likely they'll finish 5th.
Nothing outlandish, but watching him the last two weeks he has real difficulty even acknowledging it as a possibility. Fancies Spurs because if we lose one we'll feel the pressure, because we've never lost a game in this position at this stage of the season before. We may well lose (I think this is a tough game) but I've seen nothing to suggest that would result in a horrible collapse.
That's fucking mental.
I can't remember if it was you that made this point on here, but I really liked the idea that they are fully able to play under pressure because they (or most of them) have done it in different contexts for the last two seasons. The stuff about 'ah, but it's totally different because it's the PREMIER LEAGUE TITLE' doesn't wash with me. It's only kicking a ball around, either you keep your head or you don't.
This Ranieri montage is amazing
It was me, yeah. Obviously this prize is much bigger but at the time of winning the second tier that felt as big given that that's been our historic equivalent of what we're doing now and we hadn't won that in more than thirty years. And staying up the way we did is at the top end of what we've achieved historically so also felt massive at the time. If we lose it from here it won't be because we haven't coped mentally. It will be because another team was better over 38 games.
If we win today, we'll finish ahead of Arsenal. Pretty big if, though.
A Sunderland win today confirms Villa going down mathematically. 1-0 to Leicester all the same. Just relegate them and Newcastle next week.
Jesus fucking Christ.
Sunderland have still to play Norwich though which guarantees that one will drop the required points.
