It isn't really 'blacking up', which is normally accompanied by voices and movements intended to characterise Black Folks as idiots. Still, it is a bit lol how oblivious to this stuff Germany is. I know there are only about five black Germans, but you would still expect them to be as [over-]sensitive as everybody else with it.

It's weird. I think Germany is finally starting to be racist again after years of war guilt but it's like they don't get how to react to it etc.
They are getting too fucking cocky. That world cup win was only the start.

The best part is the actual black player.

They've just tinted the photo, I'm sure I see what's inherently racist about it though but I admit I may be oblivious due to being about as white as it's possible to be.

It's no "Black Pete" but the Germans do somehow remain excellently oblivious to this sort of stuff.

Seems harmless to me. They're actually promoting solidarity rather than the usual Spanish mob who love a good black up.

My PE teacher blacked up and sang Afroman - because I got high at our 2002 leavers party. Probably both my favourite thing that's ever happened and the most racist thing that's ever happened.

I could definitely see this sort of thing happening down here.
