Twitter has been progressively getting worse. Speaking as a doom scroller, things like reliability fails more often, the people you actually follow are buried somewhere in the algo, you see more paid blue ticks who are collectively thick and it's end to end adverts.
Fuck meta though.

Had a look and it's a timeline filled with people you don't follow in a completely random order, so even more muting accounts than with the mandatory Twitter ads

The issue is Instagram users are the most extreme self obsessed mongs, so if that's their initial user base it'll be hard to carve out anything worthwhile. Twitter will be fine as its found it's niche and is ultimately pretty good at it.
Non-chronological feed and impossible not to see tweets from accounts you don't follow. Dead app.

Instagram has become incredibly good at giving me adverts for clothes. It shows me the exact sort of stuff I like, on sites I've never heard of, usually on sale.
I like buying clothes but can never be arsed sifting through shite, so this is a rather good development.
