The PFA have come out and suggested that they need to do more on helping players understand what they can and can't do... bizarre. In what other world of employment are your employers telling you how to act outside of work. You don't need your employer, or union telling you that you shouldn't be sexually assaulting people.

"As a natural extension of this, the PFA has developed over a period of time a training programme incorporating the theme of personal integrity for all professional players; ensuring they are fully informed on such issues and includes sexual consent, standards of behaviour and respectful relationships in person and on social media.
"This has been developed with input from groups including Rape Crisis, White Ribbon and Women's Aid.
"Situations such as this, unfortunately, demonstrate that this is a vital area for our focus and that there is still much work to do."
Most people don't. But fairly uneducated, rich kids who are likely to find themselves in potentially compromising situations could probably do with some training.
I don't particularly need training on 'cultural sensitivity' or 'manual handling', but I've been at workplaces where I've been required to have it.
I imagine a lot of young celebrities get this sort of stuff from (responsible) agents. Having most of their post-pubescent years dominated by football does seem to end up with a lot of them appearing fairly clueless on some of the things teenagers learn properly in that time. Obviously this is the extreme end and I doubt there are many unaware sex with fifteen year olds is wrong, but sexual consent in general certainly seems like something that could do with addressing.
It may be to protect the clubs and employers as well. "Well, we told you it was bad and you did it anyway."
Essentially dissolving the employer or responsibility.

What a headline.
It seems as though this is being taken as the true nature of events at the moment:
If so, why the fuck we let him carry on playing after 4th May is questionable. It's possible that we were given bad advice and that we didn't read the message transcripts, but fuck me. Heads will roll.
MB is Margaret Byrne, our chief executive.
I would agree. He's ultimately going through a court case and one has to assume he's innocent until proven (or he admits he's) guilty.
I suppose you could suspend him without pay for the duration, but you could hardly go and sack him before the prosecution has been allowed to run its course.
Suspending him on full pay (i.e. not playing him) would seem to be the most sensible thing to have done.
Kissing a 15yr old girl, whilst quite bad, is not illegal.
My issue would be if they read the messages, and knew that he had sent quite inappropriate messages. Even then, however, I think they did the right thing by waiting for the court verdict -
I thought kissing a 15 year old was illegal?
Fair enough.
Didn't she suck him off?
I'm a twit
He was found not guilty of that offence.
I think before all the Yewtree/Rovram shit kicked off, people would have lol'd and dismissed this, I bet the girl would have been lol'd at too by the filth.
Good to see our perceptions of child abuse are changing, even if there are some utter troglodytes like Harold still around.
Byrne has resigned.

This is inappropriate.

A temporary Facebook profile overlay picture of Adam Johnson.
Lol!!!
Oh dear, that's tragic in many ways. What a fucking idiot.
Sorry, I thought they were your WhatsApps mate.
The 'keep deleting' post in that looks out of place. Wrong colour.
'I will get this thank you, it had better be worth it.'
Life for that, thanks.
Overuse of the word 'mate' tonight. Magic is in massive cunt mode
Where have those screenshots come from?
I'm a twit
They were part of the transcripts we were given last May.
Innocent until proven guilty indeed.
That conversation stuff's all come out in court so it's probably a mock-up.
WOT PIG SED.
To be fair the girl sounds like a right little minx.
About to be sentenced, but can you believe that the BBC are live-reporting this? What the fuck?

It's incredible the vitriol directed towards him, given a lot of PAEDOPHILES (such as Bowie and Iggy Pop) are utterly revered.
Fucking hell judges don't half like the sound of their own voice. Less wail more jail.
The one who did Oscar Pistorious was a nutter in that regard - I don't think I heard any else for the first three or four days in that trial.
EDIT: Johnson's been given six years.
I wonder what the judge was on about with his crime being 'the most serious of its type'. That simply isn't true, unless the 'type' is as narrow as sex crimes committed by footballers against willing participants of fifteen years old.
I know of someone recently jailed here for using a position of power to abuse girls as young as twelve and get away with it for years. He got eighteen months in prison and three years on a tag, so I'm genuinely interested in what happens here.
Six years. Fucking hell.
I'm a twit
Jesus.
He's been made an example of. No way is a random Joe getting 6 years for that.
Yeah, the judge probably thought 3 years and doubled it because he's a public personality.
Not that I'm trying to defend him, he's obviously a massive cunt.
Even three years would have been a heavy sentence given what other people get for similar crimes.
The guy I mentioned above was found guilty of sexually assaulting five girls of between twelve and fourteen, having been in a position of power over them. So that's apparently four times less serious than diddling a willing fifteen year old.
I didn't think I'd feel sorry for Adam Johnson, but fucking hell.
As I said, the wife's friend's fiance was a teacher, who had a long relationship with a 16 year old pupil (even noncing her up in their pre-marital bed, with children sleeping next door whilst she was out on nightshift). He was clever though because he waited until she was 16.
The court told him to accept it was a one off and he only got 100 hours community service.
