I did/spent nothing to watch that match tonight, and I deserve to be entertained.

It's not a yearly thing, last year we were crap and nearly got relegated, the two previous we were in the playoffs.

I'm pretty confident we'll pick up, we've had a lot of first eleven players injured and they're coming back. LuaLua back will mean more goals and although he doesn't score I think Baldock is quite an important player.

Weren't you looking at running off with it early days on both playoff occasions?

It was a good game to watch, but to throw away a lead twice especially after those Lingard and Fellaini chances is of course gutting.

That was a thoroughly enjoyable game from 1-2. We're really shit defensively, but Man Utd were very quick closing down Colback, so we did well considering. I'll be a bit upset if Tioté goes to China. He's a good lad and still has a lot to offer. He's miles ahead of Colback and Anita and a safer option to line up next to GypJo for the rest of the season.

If I remember correctly they've come from midtable positions to get play off places in previous years.

Not for any real length of time, both fairly standard playoff sides (made it on the last day in Oscar's year).

Edit- Lee I think we were much nearer the top consistently in Gus' season. But anyway nah we've never looked like the runaway winners (there usually is one in the Championship though).

    <remembers we had a match on>

Okay, that's a sound point. Jonjo's a weird signing... well, not weird just... it seemed to have no build-up. Two central midfielders in, then. Tiote's away, probably. Unless there's an ANC on.

    EDIT: Villa won?

So are you moaning about fans in general or United fans? Because I don't believe anybody's ever embraced their team being balls for the sake of entertainment. And that the "neutrals" would rather lol at United being crap than comment on the game is hardly the latter's fault.

That said, while I had BT tonight tonight thanks to a work chum BT forced me to spoil the game for myself a bit by muting it and taking away a good chunk of what makes a good game because the alternative was listening to BT's coverage.

That's a bit of a clusterfuck that it's still worded like that I feel. I could swear we've managed to get it out from the Finnish translation, but obviously that probably isn't the case as I'm sure we all are under the same rules.

It's not that bad is it? Savage is a bit of a tool but he speaks less when Hoddle (who I think is pretty good) is on there too.

Anyone, but big club fans are worse, myself included no doubt. Arsenal are probably the worst for it actually. Any sort of dodgy result means Wenger has run the club into the ground, he should have bought all the players for all the money in the last transfer window, why Diaby LM, etc. I reckon we've had about five rounds of that just this season and there they are, top of the table.

Hoddle isn't massively annoying but he's prone to going into these weird rambles with himself, my favourite still being his right-centre back, left-centre back ramble about Chris Smalling in the San Marino away game.

Rooney gets more hate than any player on this forum for no reason. The man's had 11 consecutive double-digit goal seasons, he's obviously incredibly talented, except now he's declining physically so he's beginning to show weaknesses in his game. Calm down.

No he gets it for good season. Namely his lack of fitness and lack of a first touch.

Seriously, watch old coverage from pre 1992. It's like what's happening is a game of football on a pitch and not just a trigger for another round of soap opera and overarching narrative.

Stop romanticising the old times so much, you nostalgic sob. Embrace the modern day drama. Soon we'll have Kanye West as a expert guest in the Saturday afternoon studios, and it'll be glorious

It never was. Jimmy is just talking nonsense. The reaction to last nights result is the same as it would have ever been in the given circumstances.

From a neutral perspective always but either way the reaction tonight would have been the same 50 years ago. United frustrated at dropped points, it not being good enough etc and Newcastle happy at salvaging a draw.

Spot on and it does my head in. Every poor result triggers a meltdown and it's boring as fuck. I generally swerve all football talk these days and certainly anything regarding us.

There's a kid who sits in the row behind me who has a meltdown every time a pass goes astray, loudly roaring and telling everyone involved they're shit. Because we're actually doing quite well there isn't much to moan about, so people have decided Marc-Antoine Fortune is the target for the unused rage. He came on last night and the kid gave him no more than five seconds on the pitch before he screamed WHY BRING THIS CUNT ON SHIT FUCK IDIOTS

Spurs again then. Surprised to see Vardy back so soon. I think we'll lose this. Anything other than defeat would be a good result.
