I did see something interesting about polls, and how one type of polling was done exclusively through landlines. Hmmm.

On the polling, looking on 538 AtlasIntel appear to have nailed the result with their last round of reported polls, for example.
I know nothing about how the polls are conducted, but if it's anything but 100% anonymous (and I include being overheard by people on phone calls in that) then it will massively skew the results.
It's the same as here. You get the odd absolute GEEZER who will say loud and proud that they're voting Reform, but most will lie in that environment.
I suspect that's why the polls were wrong on Brexit too.
It absolutely is. If you're in that position you have two choices, say nothing and no one can ever find out about your voting intentions or tell someone and risk it getting out and being branded a racist, nazi or whatever, which are utterly horrible things to be accused of and probably only trumped by the obvious.
Unless you're so rich or so moronic that you don't care, it's an absolute no brainer in the current and (previous 8 years) climate.
Is Harris doing a (Hillary) Clinton and hiding in a toilet?
It's a pity it had to be Trump but any large scale fuck-off to things like climate change, identifying as a screwdriver, and mass immigration has to be regarded as a good day. Things like these eventually trickle down to us all from countries like the US and will hopefully see the push back to center we're seeing in Europe only get stronger.
I spent some years lying about what I voted in Brexit to left-wing friends. Maintaining good relations is more important than STANDING UP FOR WHAT I BELIEVE IN.
If we say fuck off to climate change that would solve it. Go team Trump.
Solar is doing great without the need of DOING SOMETHING. Nuclear is also making a comeback. Let the markets do their thing and we'll be fine. Governments trying to fix things just make them worse.
Has Harris not conceded yet?
When those minions come to my door, I dont tell them who Im voting for.
If they press me, I tell them about the trouble my immigrant parents / grandparents had coming to and living in the UK after WW2 which is far greater than the problem anyone has now coming to this country. Having a local policeman on their tail and visiting their house weekly to make sure they werent hiding anyone. Racial slurs where you couldnt complain to anyone. Checking they were working otherwise theyd be threatened with being sent back.
Those poor work experience kids cant quite get their heads around it, going Oh oh, I didnt realise that, backing away and eventually theyre behind the gate and then make excuses to leave.
Shame she can't refuse to certify the results.
Wonder if Joe will do the old handover that Donald shunned. Can he still executive order the assassination of Trump under Presidential Immunity?
If this forces us to get back with the EU because of tariffs how does it benefit Ruzzia?
It won't force that, although I see that appears to be deep state remain doctrine now. We must rejoin!
Just give us the chicken.
The power of Hulkamania going over is incredible.
They gave Come-Oh-Lah the "this doesn't work for me, brother."
I think we can basically put all of this down to Harris being a thoroughly unlikeable person who ran a pathetic campaign, rather than reading anything particularly new into America being what it is. Haven't a load of the local candidates out-performed her massively? The fact she has just slunked off tells you everything about her.
She seemed fine from what I saw of her, but had it been a properly contested nomination she wouldn't have been running against Trump in the first place so the blame for it all is squarely at the door of defending a president with dementia (which was clear as day two years ago and only got worse) until it was too late to go with anyone else.
Not sure anyone on the Democratic ticket has particularly out-performed anything. Seems horrid across the board for them.
Lots of 'democratic issues' seem to have done well on the ballots though, so maybe abortion and 'labor' laws are a state thing after all?
At least Ruben Gallego appears to be keeping Kari Lake at bay, although still a lot of votes to count.
Less good new for good old Lance Kunce. It's not Koontz mate.
Someone should check on RL.
Again, she ran in a primary and was extremely unpopular. Then Biden drops out way too late and she bowls in with a campaign that offered nothing apart from 'if you vote Trump you're evil/stupid/weird/deplorable/racist'. Turns out that inspired no one.
Having never put myself through the full horror of the Biden debate performance I've only just seen that "I've no idea what he just said and I don't think he does either" line.
Hard ceiling might be a bit harsh on Trump, seeing as everyone was going on about this being a record turnout election [is it?] and he appears to have lolled his way to winning the popular vote.
I saw someone saying that JD Vance is basically Trump but intelligent and competent. Is that the democrats fucked for the next decade then?
That might be a bit much.
You'd have to be concerned. Trump is obviously extremely self-serving, so perhaps not pre-disposed to campaigning for other people, but at the same time, it will suit him to have someone compliant as POTUS if he can't be, as he's seen what can happen when it goes the other way. Unless they completely tank everything in the next 4 years you'd have to think he'd essentially be running as an incumbent and be nigh on unstoppable.
But as with the last Trump Presidency things can change rapidly. He was a shoe-in for re-election on March 1st 2020.
None of this will matter when a third Retardy Oswald gets the shot right. Or, y'know, his age gets the better of him.
Or those alleged photos of a 13 year old Ivanka get verified and it transpires Donald chucked her into porn as a child.

Did you see that video where somebody had replaced 'our democracy' with 'our bureaucracy' in a load of Democrat freak-out clips? Warning people that he might undermine The Rule of Law and whatever else was like threatening people with a good time when all of your 'normal' structures are failing across the board.
I have not but that's pretty good. Trump is still somehow the anti-establishment choice and that has a ton of appeal over here. That's what made Vance a great VP choice: a famous person among the right demographic that also has the 'not a politician' vibe. Meanwhile the Democrats, lovers of democracy, kept telling us Biden was just fine and then after that lol debate, instead of running a primary, they just said 'it will be Harris and you will like it'. Establishment Republicans obviously hate Trump, but at least they realize that if he is the popular choice then so be it.
At least the Democrats got the first trans woman in Congress, so they should be celebrating that.
There's a nice sync that this thread is still being used with trump being re elected
It's an invaluable record, like the shameful lustage thread, and neatly cyclical, also like the shameful lustage thread.
The Democrats just need to run a white guy from the Midwest as their next candidate. Stop trying to get the first X president who's from the coastal liberal elite and just pick some guy that isn't going to turn middle America off. And have some decent economic policies. But then that's not what their politics is about any more, is it? Identity over class. Minority this, minority that. Intersectionality. Oppression olympics. Woke. People fucking hate that shit.
Just improve people's lives economically and you make things better for all those minorities you claim to care about as well.
Does local news elsewhere in the UK send correspondents to the US to cover this as well? Why the fuck do BBC NI need to send someone there to report on "what this means for Northern Ireland"? Probably not that much and even if it does mean any thing, you can report it from fucking Belfast. Stop wasting my licence fee money, you cunts.
All the local news here this evening is about this. Comments from the First and Deputy First Ministers. Voxpops from dickheads in the street. I know it's big news but the national news just covered it for half an hour. I don't need a shite NI angle on things, report some actual local news in your ten minutes slot.
