Just fired it up for the first time in a week or so and I finally beat Mom for the second time and her heart for the first time.

Controllable tears with Azazeal was just far too overpowered.

I also had my first boss rush room which was brilliantly fun.

Yep, it was fucking brilliant.

Also had a prayer card which meant I was close to full health at all times and had 3 buddies.

Easily the most fun run I've had, for once the game didn't (for me) feel like a chore due to my shitness.

I find OP runs to be the most fun, I jump in every now and again and reset until I get something great and go from there.

Ludo-Brim is amazing.

I've been plugging away at NortherLion's Rebirth videos & I'm nearly at 600 now. Definitely in with a good shout of catching up by the time Afterbirth releases. I've pre-ordered the shit out of that too, obviously.

Unfortunately I still suck, but occasionally I'll have a day (or an hour or two) where I actually manage not to dodge into enemy projectiles.

On it too. I've imported my Rebirth saves but I'm kinda tempted to start from scratch, Might do a few runs with everything then go back to basics.

Fuck it, one Isaac run then it's on to failing miserably to unlock Lilith.

Had the Burning Basement & Flooded Caves so far out of the alternate levels. Both look pretty cool.

EDIT: It does that for all cards & pills? Amazing.

The Lost has spectral tears & D4 now, so I guess that's slightly less brutal than it used to be.

I just got rolled into a very viable, what I think was Soy milk build. The damage was 1 on stats screen but I was taking down bosses in seconds.

You get deals with the Devil on Mom's Heart/It Lives now.

Got the beam of light to go to the Cathedral, but decided to look just in case & there sat We Need To Go Deeper & Rotten Baby. Rerolled them into a new item & Goathead, so I've taken both on the off chance there are more deals available now.

Also I have Brimstone/Mom's Knife/Cricket's Head on my first run Proptosis & IPECAC on The Chest as well.

First run ended in tears but the second is going strong with quite a few new but nicely powered shit.



I'm firing loads of tears a second with some being sticky bombs, some being poison and some being a combo of both. My tears also seem to turn into knifes/boomerangs every now and then too.

Unlocked Lilith. Greed mode is pretty cool - lots of scope for customisation & the different format makes different items useful, particularly those that are good for crowd control. I, for instance, won with Flush as my active item.

There is, apparently, now a pretty simple way to do Meat Boy/Bandage Girl...

If you have a cube of meat/ball of bandages plus Box of Friends, it jumps them up the scale, so using it on a second level cube/ball should take you to a full one, and with the battery you can just use two charges to turn a first level into a fourth level.

What's are the favourite new items people have used so far? I've found Jar of Flies to be pretty good, and Glass Cannon is neat, especially with a good tear synergy & no red hearts.

There's a page up on one of the Isaac Wiki's that's made a start on pages for new items and stuff.

Already had Proptosis/Abbadon/Magic Mushroom/Triple Shot/Guppy, and now I've got the D7 on The Chest, and I'm rerolling a room full of Chub's endlessly. Gonna try to find some video capture software to record the chaos.

EDIT: Oh, and I also have Forget Me Now in another room

Laptop can't handle two things at once, but yeah. I also made a longer clip of the rest of the run, but that's almost 25mins long, since I ended up doing the floor again & getting Dad's Key, so I full cleared the floor & then beat Mega Satan.

Anyways, D7 on The Chest is good.

I've been playing so horribly today, but I decided to have another run on the off chance it went a bit better. Started as Isaac & got 20/20 in the first item room, then Chaos was going cheap in a shop, so I thought 'fuck it', and picked it up.

EDIT: Turned down a third Guppy item for Sacred Heart, got another Guppy item for finishing Boss Rush, and Dead Cat was in the DWTD. This seed is rather strong.

Nah, you need a blood bank in first shop, play it til it breaks and hope for an IV bag. Buy red heart with money (should have enough to buy one, maybe two), and because it respawns, carefully use IV bag to keep putting you down to half heart, buy red heart, rinse and repeat for 10-20 minutes, unlimited cash, shop adds new item for 15 cents every time you purchase one. Work your way through the item pool

Luck will go up more you use it, so more money everytime you use it, plus the odd dime/nickel etc. I had some insane tears earlier, full fucking screen sticky bomb explosions. Took about a thirty seconds/a minute to finish Ultra Greed.

Yeah, it's pretty great. Need to put in some time & unlock the associated hidden character. Apparently there's another one in play at the minute as well, supposedly based around the 404 error type stuff rather than the money stuff.

FINALLY playing some Afterbirth+.

Mega Blast on the first run Playing as Isaac though, so I re-rolled it. The new character looks pretty great too, so that'll be my next run.

The new character is indeed pretty great. Probably already my second favourite character to have a casual run with - maybe even better than Isaac given a bit more time. Recorded the back half of my last run just to demonstrate how crazy it can get, so I'll edit that in here when it's ready.

Apollyon's item, Void, is fucking amazing, and 99% of the reason the character is so good.

It absorbs other active items & reproduces their effect upon use. In the run I've recorded I absorbed Satanic Bible, GameKid, Mom's Bottle of Pills, Guppy's Paw, and a few others, including a new shop item called Mama Mega, which is what caused the huge explosion every time i entered a new room, and also blows up Boss Rush, Hush & any secret rooms until you leave the room.

Ouroboros Worm is my kind of trinket too.
