Nice poll, mate.
Check it again suckers.
Got to agree with Toby here. That stuff about him wanting to manage in England was on BBC Breakfast this morning. Who fucking cares?
Moyes to Man City, Mourinho to United and Pep to Chelsea, please.
Please not Chelsea.
You'd assume that the reason why LVG isn't at the dole office is because United have talked to Pep's people about him taking the job in the Summer.
Then again it is United and they just can't be fucked in sacking LVG and will hire Giggs and/or Gary Neville when he decides to leave.
I don't mind, but I find it kinda odd that some people don't care. It's about as big as anything can realistically happen in football (probably just the likes of Ronaldo and Messi transfers that'd be bigger).
It would be interesting to see him at United, since he wouldn't just be landing at the best side by a mile.
"Pep Step" the best dance workout since Zumba. Routines include "Tiki Taka" and "Yes I can, Catalan".
Fuck that.
There are a hundred things bigger than Pep Guardiola picking his new side every year. Who wins League Two this season is 'bigger'. That's the view of someone completely invested in the football transfers as theater shit-off rather than the game itself, and I didn't have you down as one of those.
Send him back to the The Dugout.
Yeah, I guess I meant anything comparable. I don't seriously think Pep picking a new team would be as big as Leicester winning the league, as I suspect you knew.
edit: @John too
Not arsed where he goes from a football-as-soap opera perspective, but I don't believe you all genuinely wouldn't give a shit if he joined an English team? I'm a tactical philistine but even I'd be intrigued by how he'd set up a team in the prem.
My point is that managers have a huge effect on what happens - probably more than any player can, apart from once in a generation types like Messi.
edit- that too, Igor. It's very interesting (to me).
Once he's there it'd be an interesting spectacle, but caring about where he ends up six months in advance is for 'Pep' himself, fans of the clubs where he might end up, and twats who see transfers as a sport by themselves. That's it, and Reg is a Brighton fan so unless he's been hiding a hell of a secret under his hat there's only one conclusion.
I will find it more interesting how he'd set up a team in the Prem in 6 months, but I'm still at least a little bit curious where he'll go right now, if only in a 'oh it'd be cool if he took over an English team' sense. And I'm certainly not a transfer-obsessed Pep Mate kinda guy. Shades of grey ennit.
My WDYTOE on Reg looking all the more accurate.
I might actually have a penny or two on a shock Wenger resignation. Arsenal is not only in London (as the Germans will tell you), but stylistically their players would adapt to his football most easily, you'd think. City might sound easy with old Jordi Shitstain and Carles Barçawankio upstairs, but in reality he'll be shifting Yaya Touré (again), having to buy an entire new defence and the whole of the first season would be spent on getting Joe Hart's first touch and intense facial expressions up to standard.
At United he'd have to just basically get the whole lot in a room, machine gun them and start again, so the challenge is the 'challenge', and I find managers actually don't ever take 'challenges' but rather the easiest job available. Chelsea, well, where to start. Mikel at centre half
I want to see him at Chelsea and I think it could happen.
I can't remember who it was, but I sort of nodded in "that makes sense" agreement when somebody suggested he'd be too up himself to go to Chelsea or City. If Arsenal were to win the league this year, as they really should be doing, it'd probably be the best chance Wenger will have to step back on a high note.
Mikel was a monster at the weekend, by the way. How I've missed him.
I hope we never sell him.
Not really. It made me chuckle, but it was pretty nonsensical.
"Secretive" - it's largely a football and FM forum, there's nothing wrong with not live blogging my breakfast.Reg - Secretive crybaby twat. A masturbator of heatmaps and stats and not someone I'd like to have a chat about footie with.
"Crybaby" - where's this from? Aren't you way more likely than me to respond emotionally to a post? This post is as close to a seethe as I'll get.
"Heatmaps" - Nope. Just as likely to read up on ticket prices effecting fans, for example, as I am formations and whatnot. I like all aspects of football.
Seething.
This has Man City written all over it. The interesting thing is that we know he's moving and know it's likely England.
I'd like to see him in charge of someone like Man United. Just to prove the decline is irreversible.
Reg
"Likely" = Fucking hell mate come on.
If Arsenal win the league, AW will step down and Pep will step in.
I've got a book somewhere that came out during that brief period when we all thought Sven was an actual genius (2001ish, I suppose) which is effectively an account of Svennis and some cod psychologist from Sweden talking about football psychology (with no moments of levity whatsoever) in a coffee shop for about six hours. It's quite magnificent.
I would say 'a Gripping read', but I've given up puns for lent.
Misread that as Hakan Motson initially. What a second that was.
He's going to city and he'll piss the league. It's the most exciting thing in football at the moment for me.
