The other forum is going to go down at some point, therefore we're only delaying the inevitable move. We need to make sure that the appropriate links are put up for redirection. It's not as if TTH has been driving new members in and we're suddenly going to lose them either.

What killed the old place in the end? Why was it going down? Presumably it isn't fixable without Mark? Not that there's any point now but it would be nice to know what went wrong.

Board software is ancient apparently. The site itself couldn't be updated or controlled by those who were willing to graft. They rightly gave up and left.
Yea, I keep checking the old one but only because I can't be bothered to update the bookmark on my phone and I keep forgetting it's to the old one. On my laptop I've deleted the old one. I won't go back if it comes up, but I'd like to make sure this place is clearly sign posted for other people.

There is no point going back. Least here we have people that want the best for the community etc, instead of Mark. Taz will come over soon and no doubt he's reading everything.
The old place may have had more profile to attract new members but registration was a nightmare and only a fraction made it to TTH, so what are we actually losing?
Basically the board software was so old that you have every spam bot in tge world getting through ths defenses. We consistently floated 300 guests and at an estimate id say about 10% of those were real. So you have 350 bots hitting every page constantly. Probably would have saved him bandwith cost to fix it but meh.
This fotum was created when it went down last time. Mark was given an outline 3 weeks ago. Not even a 'Seen by Mark' in that time. Its past not caring into actively hurting the place.
