I'd put it in a quote, but it's massive, so fuck you all. Enjoy.

Careful with the sharpness of that photo guys.
Will need to give Cool Runnings a rewatch and see how much I regret it because of all the racism.
I watched it recently, it holds up I think, as long as you're willing to give a pass to the 'black people in cold climates lol' which is the premise of the entire film.
I watched it a few years ago I think and yeah, other than that being the one joke I actually thought it was a remarkably decent film and not just nostalgia.
Who are the people that attend opening ceremonies? I'm only watching from home and I'm doubting my life choices.
I couldn't be arsed with the summer one, this one ain't getting a second of attention unless some deaths occur.
Speed skating, especially short track, is by far the best sport at the Winter Olympics.
The mixed team relay final was fun.
Snowboard cross is the best.
The pervert ain't wrong, they're all tick. Even that mentally ill British one is
Currently enjoying the curling, even though I have zero clue how the scoring system works.
It's just bowls on ice, isn't it?
Pretty much.
There are some additional rules like POWER PLAY in Mixed Doubles which I don't understand though.
I can only imagine the level of pathos in whoever it is in the world curling association that sits around having meetings trying to get it to appeal to a younger audience.
Might be a sitcom in that, actually. NEW BROOM starring Greg Davies as a delusional curling federation head.
I always wonder how much the little sweepy broom things actually in Curling.
lmao
It took me a while to work out what I was looking at there. Fuck me.
I suppose when you know there's no spectators, you can put events anywhere.
Just wish the world would go back to treating them, the Russians and the Arabs as the weird cunts they are and stop giving them international events.
They paid millions to get all the fake snow.
No they didn't. It's Uyghur ashes.
My dad had this on yesterday. It’s rubbish.
The commentators really overselling snowboard jumping only for the graphic to show they’re in 5th was weird.
Dancing in ice skates is also somehow more boring than just dancing.
I'm a twit
Just throw on those madmen flying off the ski jump and the Jamaican bobsleigh and call it a day.
Missus has got this on and jesus, Chinese snowboarder gold is a premium ting:

You need to get out more.
Italian mixed curling gold. Provide linkage Mahow, immediately.
Stefania Constantini
I did not think you'd be a fan so didn't mention her.
Unfortunately linkage is quite sparse.
Happy to make this a Winter Olympics Best Babes thread especially as we seem to be agreeing so much.
More like Phwoarlympics am I right lads?
What does "am L right" even mean?
As high performance athletes, how can they actually get by on that diet?
The BBC profile on her was lol:
Ms Gu has expressed support for movements Black Lives Matter and spoken out against anti-Asian violence in the US, but remained silent on issues like the mass internment of ethnic Uyghurs in Xinjiang and the arrests of pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong.
"There's no need to be divisive," she told news site The New York Times. A difficult, if not impossible posture to take when several countries, including the US, are engaged in a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing games in protest at Beijing's human rights record.
In China however, she has been embraced by state media. Dubbed "genius girl skier" and "snow princess" - she has been featured in several government TV documentaries and has also shown her commercial potential by modelling for high-profile brands and her intelligence with a place at Stanford University.
Deals with the Bank of China, China Mobile and JD.com, a Chinese retailer, are among her commercial contracts.
Anti-Asian violence in the US = bad
Anti-Asian violence in Asia = good
Reminds me that, of all the made up shit that the lunatics complain about, anti-Asian violence might very well be the most made up shit of them all.
It clearly happens, so it is a thing, but it's mostly black people committing it, so they have to cook up all sorts of demented explanations about whitey brainwashing them into doing it or equating Trump saying 'Chinese virus' to pushing an old woman under a train. It's like they invented it as a test to see how much people are willing to delude themselves.
Well yes, it happens, just like anti-everything violence happens because it is a violent as fuck country, but blaming it on 'whiteness,' just like everything bad that has ever happened or will ever happen, defies even the most rudimentary of logics.
I haven't watched a second of it so far. Does that constitute a boycott? I think I'm going to claim it. Yes We Can.
Are countries actually boycotting it or is it just people not watching?
There's a diplomatic boycott by several countries, ie. the athletes go but no suits. Xi Jinping shaking in his boots at that obvs.
So that Russian 15 year old ice dancer failed a drugs test.
It's now been confirmed.
Test was from December it seems and right now she's still scheduled to compete again on the 15th unless CAS make a ruling before then.
Considering that Rusada is not considered to be fit for purpose by WADA it seems strange to me that they are entitled to 'lift' provisional suspensions for failed drugs tests.
The fallout is quite fun.
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/20...ts-from-russia
The journalists who broke the story of Russian skater Kamila Valieva’s positive drugs test on Wednesday say they have faced death threats, abuse, and warnings they should check their tea.
A separate British newspaper journalist who asked Valieva whether she was a doper on Friday has also faced intense criticism from Russian members of parliament and online.
https://www.rt.com/sport/549032-kami...emlin-support/
Peskov said the 15-year-old should hold her head up high in response to the news that Valieva was seen wearing a hood while walking past a crowd of journalists at training on Friday in Beijing.
“Overwhelmingly, we absolutely overwhelmingly support Kamila Valieva in any case, and we urge everyone to support her,” Peskov said.
“And we tell her: ‘Kamila don’t hide your face. You are Russian. Walk proudly and, most importantly, compete and defeat everyone!’” he added.
Yeah, that's a ruined life before it's even got going. Poor kid.
