Heh yeah that last point is very true. My most memorable moment so far has been (there's a power spoiler in here if you want to avoid it):

Its a minor thing but it worked, made me smile like a dick.

When I get a computer that can run games, I'm going to go back through DS's suggestions and do them all, one-by-one.
Having now played Prey, it's craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap. How they've managed to make a shooter that controls worse than Bioshock is almost impressive. The space you're in is cool if you're into it but frankly I'm a bit bored of 'you wake up on a space station with no memory and every one is dead'.
The intro is probably one of the best things a video-game has produced but after that it's absolute toilet that takes all the worst parts of Bioshock and refuses to modernize them, they even used the same fucking awful font for the art deco stuff. Some enemy variety would be nice too rather than 2 forms of shapeless entities for hours on end.
Prey finished, absolutely loved it despite it dipping a bit towards the end. BUY IT.
Review:
I absolutely fucking loved it for around four fifths of the game. There's a few hours towards the end that drag a little as the sense of discovery and exploration kinda ends and you're tasked with a lot of back/forward through areas, but the story is strong enough that I didn't hate those sections.
It is, all told, a complete mash up of around five to six games, Bioshock, System Shock, Dishonored, Deus Ex, Metroidvanias etc. Takes all the best bits, although the combat will be shite for some because until you upgrade some shit its deliberately sluggish, as is movement speed, to keep the game tense within the mimic gimmick. There's plenty scope to build your guy/gyal however you want with skill trees and all that typical jazz.
The recycling mechanic really fits the game, allowing you to pick up junk by the ton, whap it all in a machine which transforms it all into materials from which you can create ammo/health and a multitude of other cool shit. You don't have to do all this, if you're the kinda heartless, non-OCD bus riding wanker, but you'll be doing yourself, and me, a disservice.
The star of the entire show is the ship. Beautifully built, interconnected, full of areas you want to hack into/find a way into/do some super crazy awesome shit to get in/do it the obvious way and find a keycard like a fanny. The game, as a whole, is at its absolute best when you're exploring, very similar to the recent Deus Ex efforts. You've got ya hacking mini-games, emails to read, notes to pick up, multiple strands of plot to stitch together.
Essentially if you like games, like plot, like story, like exploring, like skill trees, like SUPER AWESOME RUN SPEED AND JUMPS (skill tree power) which makes the combat a lot more fun, aren't a nutter, aren't gonna shout SHIT THIS SHIT FOR CUNTS MATE within five hours and you like to smile, buy it. If not, don't chat to me fam.
Due to Breath of the Wild being potential GOAT, this sits very easily in my second favourite new game experience of the year.

I've been playing Just Cause 3 and I can't decide whether it's repetitive nonsense or the best game ever. The scenery is great and just flying and parachuting everywhere is brilliant. Although it is all a little bit samey, it's good brainless fun.
Its a shit game blessed with fantastic mechanics and a fun world.
Yeah I think that's about right. It's nothing on GTA but it's bloody gormless and great for that reason.
@Kikó You got the jetpack DLC?
Just buy a PS4 mate, the majority of stuff worth playing is on there unless you want proper strategy games or mobas.
Fractured but Whole finally has a new release date, hopefully third time is a charm and it's actually released this time.
Didn't Stick of Truth get a few delays too? I'll wait if it turns out as good as that.
I love that because of the openness of games like Prey you can have "scripted" moments that the game can't totally take into account where you might be.

It did somewhat take the drama out of what would otherwise have been a shit-my-pants affair given the size of the thing.
Went and traded a mountain of crap for Injustice 2 with the Ultimate pack today.
Even they wouldn't take No Man's Sky.
The Surge shown up today. Ł26 couresy of all the clubpoints I've been saving.
Combos in tutorial, argh.
I wish they'd show more input.
I'm trying to remember how the first handled it. I mostly mashed my way through that. I never got the meter gamble gimmick either.
Really liking it thus far.
I've only played with characters through story thus far so haven't tried everyone.
Initial thoughts are that I don't get on with Firestorm or Cyborg (they seem a bit too clunky for me) but love Catwoman and Blue Beetle, Green Arrow isn't too bad either.
I didn't like Cyborg in the first one. He's a lump. I remember Aquaman having some decent range.
Red Dead 2 delayed until Spring 2018, but looks stunning. No surprises.
http://www.rockstargames.com/newswir...ng-Spring-2018Red Dead Redemption 2 is now set to launch Spring 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.
We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer. In the meantime, please enjoy this selection of new screenshots from the world of Red Dead Redemption 2.

Oh and those Red Dead pictures are amazing.
It's going to be such a good game.
I got my second one at a fortuitous moment too.
Was in the recording studio bit in that tiny room. A thermal phantom thing came for me but I mindjacked it so it did some damage to the nightmare for me. Q-Beam did the rest. Two for two against the massive bastards and barely a scratch taken.
First boss down in The Surge. He was easy, I was just way underleveled. Doesn't do a good job of explaining any actual systems, even though there's tutorial prompts everywhere. Basically, you should always be cutting gear off.
Whenever Rockstar announce an initial release I add half a year on top by default now, it's always the way. If they want to hint at GTA6 by way of apology though I'll be alright with it.
Looks so good that Red Dead Redemption 2. I only ever played a bit of the first one, looks like I need to go play it.
Just do what I do and play everything six months after it comes out when it works properly, has most of the expansions available, and you don't have to rely on marketing bullshit and rushed reviews to know if it's actually any good.
Joined a guild on Injustice 2 and started doing some Guild Multiverse.
Was going well until I came up against Dr Fate on hard or very hard. He absolutely twatted the fuck out of anyone I threw at him including Darkseid and Aquaman.
I need to learn to block more.
The only thing I don't like is the special moves.
They have no range, can be blocked and do little damage. Much better to meter burn combos for extra damage, it makes the special moves absolutely useless.
Played some Quiplash for the first time. With the right people, that game's alright.
It's the worst of the Jackbox game for me.
I play with my nephews who are way too young to actually add anything decent.
My favourite is still Fibbage, I was seething when they removed it from the third party pack.

Far Cry 5 is about uber-Christians or cultists or whatever in Montana? A part of Montana they've somehow isolated from the rest of the country? O-.....kay.
I can set bears on people though, so I'm 100% in.
Entire campaign can be played in co-op?
Sweet baby Jesus.
Can I grenade people from a gyrocopter again?
FC5 reminds me a bit of that scene in Kingsman where it all kicks off in the church. I'm bang up for opening a can of whoop-ass on a load of jesus-freaks though.
Just played through The Town of Light. It is quite bleak. First game I've played with an opening disclaimer about mental health.
Got in the new Everybody's Golf closed beta thing. It's pretty good. Made my guy look like me too, like really like me!
As with all golf games, I can't putt.
I'll be balls deep in that on release, even if it does have the shitty three click swing.
Got a spare Undertale-key from Humble Bundle if anyone wants it.
