Is that supposed to be open world? Sonic don't play in wide-open spaces. He needs a skate park.

Dunno how long I’ll play for but I’m in Throne Of Destruction EU server if anyones playing Diablo Immortal, the new F2P mobile game.

Missed that the entire BioShock collection was free on the Epic store yesterday.
It's now Wolfenstein: The new order, if anyone wants to grab that.
I'll probably never play it but it would have been nice to have.
In other news the new Sniper Elite game has a feature on it where you can drop into someone else's campaign as an enemy sniper and hunt them down, Enemy at the Gates style. I thought that's pretty cool.
That sounds really neat. The CPC journey continues. Street Fighter remains a shite port of a shite game but at least I got half way through it. I also played through all of 1942. That game is long and it doesn't really change over 32 levels. Holds up decent, though.
I'm liking the nostalgia trip and it's nice to revisit the games I could barely put a dent in as a stupid, stupid kid.

What are the best puzzle/strategy PC games of the last ten years?
I'm thinking Portal and is Europa Universalis still any good?
The Witness? Is that on PC?
Witness is on PC, yes. Didn't care for it personally. I've enjoyed the Hexcells games. Can't think what other recent ones I've played.
Unrelately I've been playing Red Dead 2 and I would say I'm impressed by it more than I'm loving it. It's a beautiful thing but it feels like it creaks a bit under the weight of the systems it has. Some of which barely make any sense and some of which are just objectively annoying and manage to make the game gamier when they're clearly going for what passes for realism in video games.
I'm enjoying it and it's a beautiful world to traipse about it and as I said, it's impressive, but I suspect by the time I'm done with it it'll have left me a little cold and without strong feelings on it, as tends to be the way for me with Rockstar stuff.
Gerstmann leaving Giant Bomb. Unfollowed immediately.
It was dead when the pandemic hit.
And it sure sounds like that departure wasn't amicable. Straight into a patreon and fashioning a podcast on his twitch channel. On the plus side, Dan Ryckert's back at Giantbomb. Blood in, blood out.
Subbed to his patreon and currently watching him stream summer games fest. I’ll give the Bombcast another chance just for Dan, but won’t be keeping my sub.
I've still been able to access premium stuff six months after cancelling, to be fair. What they look to be doing with Premium going forward is really weak.
This looks so very much my jam. I mean as with all non MCU film things the off-brand characters always look a bit weird but everything else, I'm in. And I just like that between XCOM (and Chimera Squad), Mutant Year Zero, Druidstone, Mutant Year Zero plus ones I've not played like the new Warhammer one that I've not played yet that people are doing different things with the genre.
So I'm playing Street Fighter 2 for (probably) the first time in my life. It's not going so hot. My execution is piss poor but the AI is also very, "I only know special moves."
It’s crap. Tekken > Street Fighter.
I haven't played Tekken (yet) but I definitely have Street Fighter as bottom of the barrel. MK/Injustice are top of my tree. I just can't get on with the inputs, although I can mash my way through IV and V and reliably do fireballs.

That's what I was playing. 1943 is free as well. Funnily enough, knocking the difficulty right down doesn't really help.
This might be the week I finally start Monster Hunter World. I want to get something off my blacklog whilst I'm off work.
AssCreed Egypt is on xbox game pass so I've been giving that a whirl. The climbing is cool and the landscape is also pretty swish but I'm shite at fighting (probably an intentional don't get caught move) so I find myself more often than not on the dead side if I encounter anyone.
The newly revamped PlayStation+ service was launched overnight in the USA. Seems to be at the least, competitive with GamePass now.
So far it seems your retro PlayStation titles are all up in 60hz too.
I'm just hoping they don't vary the titles available by region. On a side note though, Metal Gear Solid of any kind is not currently included.
My two cents:
- Spend a bunch of time farming materials (you can usually get them easily enough on horseback, using the eagle to find them and then stomping them whilst riding)
- Don't waste money upgrading non-legendary stuff, the game chucks weapons at you at a fast rate and so you'll always find something better
- While it's cool to be a stealthy assassin, it's also great to have a massive hammer twat stick to just monster people
Having delved into what's there for the tiers on PS+, I still think it needs a little work.
For example, in the extra tier, you get access to the PS5 versions of Ghost of Tsushima or Death Stranding directors cuts. Yet the first Spiderman game is the ps4 version only, no PS5 upgrade is available for it in any tier.
They could also do with giving their 3rd party lineup a boost. Having RDR2 on there is great, but the rest are mostly your Ubisoft titles. And give me Metal Gear!
They've also made the choice of having the retro archive only available via streaming. You can't download them to your console as you would with the current game catalogue. So if you're having a bad time with your ISP, this might not be great for you.
I didn't do any 'farming' at all in the more recent AssCreeds I've played, unless you count pootling down the Nile in a canoe admiring the sunset as I lazily wafted myself past all the farms as farming.
Just finished up Quake 2. At least it ends with a proper boss this time. Really strong weapon line-up but I'm already tired of the brown corridors.
EDIT: Oh, the developer room. Hits a lot different after reading Masters of Doom. I missed the hooked and rotting Dopefish which was a big stab at Romero and his 'design is law' mantra. id was going through some shit.

TMNT is on Gamepass too.
It is indeed. Downloaded it already, but need to wait for my daughter to fall asleep to give it a go. Six person multiplayer.
Is it crossplay?

Between PC and XBOX, yes.
Is Big Rumble Creed Champions Boxing any good? There isnt any other boxing games I can find.
I've never heard of it but it has an average rating of 4/10.
Does Fight Night 4 not hold up? Was ahead of it’s time at the time, and pretty damn amazing.
Apparently there’s a newer, better one called Fight Night Champion which is £5 on Xbox: https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/games/sto...n/BQG162F04T2L

I was not expecting much from Mario Strikers after the disappointment of Mario Tennis and, to an extent, Mario Golf, but I have really enjoyed it so far.
New PS+ service is out here now. If you didn't have anything more than "Essential" before, you'll be given a price breakdown for how much it will cost to convert the remaining time to the higher memberships.
My eye can't see anything that the USA had but we don't thus far.
Upgraded to extra and got an error so I restarted my PS5.
Went to download a game, got an error...
Fun.
Yeah, same stuff happened for the yanks. I've got no desire to jump aboard. I can get the old stuff easily already.
I'm still working my way through RDR2. I'm still more impressed than feeling much warmth toward it.
And it's getting jarring that Arthur's regularly talking about the misgivings he has about the life he and the gang lead, etc. is set against Rockstar insisting that every single mission ends with dozens of dead enemies. This gang are either the unluckiest bunch of people going or the more incompetent because literally none of their jobs go right.
Also been doing a bit of The Ascent. It's fine so far. Hoping the combat gets a bit more interesting but I like.it well enough from the openings hour or so.
I just can't see a reason to get onto the Premium tier. Unless there's some retro games in there you plan on playing through like today, then there seems little point.
Extra is where I reckon most will settle on. You get the game catalogue and for now new titles(Stray) seem to be coming to that too.
If you can actually get onto the extra tier that is.
Buying in on the cheap for the rest of the month might be the only way I'll bother. Although NOW TV can't get a peep out of me for £1.
