I've been playing Vampyr and thought it wasn't giving me any incentive to feed on people beyond XP boosts and then in my last session I chose to spare somebody I thought was a goodie and a VERY BAD THING appears to have happened so yeah. That's gone well.

I'm playing as William Regal with NXT against an AI Hard NXT UK led Shane McMahon who is destroying me. No shame in that really though as he is the BEST IN THE WORLD.

I'm down by 100k fans to Shane McMahon's NXT UK and I've been building hard towards TLC to claw back a big number so naturally the game decides to fuck with me.
Edge who is in a 4/4 tag rivalry with Rey Mysterio against Keith Lee and Mustafa Ali requests 2 weeks off (which has been denied and he's now angry at me)
Triple H has said that special matches will cost double (money is tight)
Triple H has decided that The Rock who is in a 3/4 rivalry with my champion Brock Lesnar cannot fight at the PPV.
Absolute shambles.
I've also noticed that Bianca Belair (who is the former champ in a 2/4 rivalry with Bayley) has an injury and I have no injury cards to heal her. FUCK.

I pulled back quite about 40k fans at Mania but the gap was too large plus I lost Lesnar (title holder and in a level 3 rivalry with the next man), The Rock and Edge who was in a level 4 rivalry with Mustafa Ali.
I'll do another one soon but I need to think about how to attack it.

It's really simple and they explain each mechanic really well.
I watched a few videos on it to see if it was going to be any good and honestly it's laughably bad. There's 5 match types and you can only do 1 on 1 or Tag Team matches... and only have 2 titles. You can't even fucking trade. It's more basic than it was in 2009.
In better news, the state of play for Hogwarts Legacy is out and it looks incredible.

I've only played their UT mode so can't comment on the other modes (although they're usually shit as EA don't care about them) but overall it's not great.
I think it's better than previous years but they're still not good enough as EA are happy to push out arcadey bullshit as they know they don't need to make real strides to produce a great game as people will buy it whatever.
Finished Vampyr which is very much a 7/10 sort of affair but one which really isn't that far from being something I really love. If it had just dared to be a little less predictable little more interesting and leaned into the mechanic of choosing if you're going to feed and on whom.
With that done I'm onto Guardians of the Galaxy and it's off to a very promising start.
And I'm down to rookie mode on Metroid Dread. The Emmi counter timing is not right. I'd consider it downright broken as it's completely against what you're trained at with other enemies.
Don't get caught.
I had a hard time with the counter too. Enjoyed the game for a while but ended up dropping it and I am not sure that I am ever getting back to it.

Rookie mode does nothing to the counter timing so I guess I'm going to wind up in the same boat. At best I'm running to the exits just to fill the map out.
This is really good. Probably deserved more hype than it got unless it properly shits it in the second half of the game.
What sort of game is it Ian? I see it's on sale in the PS store.
It's linear, it's 3D action. It's funny.
I suppose it's probably broadly in the category of.... Uncharted? Not sure how fair that is.
If what you're here for is the combat then swerve it because that's just decent and no more. But it's genuinely funny, the writing is solid, it has plenty of pleasing levels to go through visually.
Not sure how helpful I've been here.it's a while since I've laughed this much playing a game though. Can't remember if you got to / enjoyed the GOTG MCU films Yev, it's not as simple as "if you liked x then you'll like y" for the films and games but in terms of tone it might be an indicatore.

I’ve been playing New Super Luckys Tale on Gamepass and the levels seem to just get longer and longer and mind-numbing, the further you progress. Can tell nobody plays it cos it’s got to a point where all the achievements are now considered rare and show what percentage of players got them, rather than sacking it off cos it’s a rubbish Crash Bandicoot rip off.

Okay, this Gran Turismo moaning has gone a bit too far. Fuelled by wankers that don't play it or are unwilling to play it long enough but want to tick every box off their car collection. Aye, the classic cars are steep but this game's going to get supported for years.

Nah, thanks. I've got plenty of games. The thing is, Sony don't need to stick new releases on their subscription service. I can't imagine how much money Microsoft throws to publishers to subsidise potential lost revenue. Hell, I've seen the numbers Epic throw about.
