I was thinking goals by teenagers where Brighton led the league by miles, U21 a bigger field obviously.

Martinelli was last season and Saka the season before. Lukaku did it in consecutive seasons at different clubs (WBA and Everton). Ronaldo was a little older once he started banging them in.

Was Shearer U21 in the first season?

Robbie Fowler at least once after that.

Shearer was 22 in the first PL season. Fowler is on the list twice, with the two best seasons for a player 21 or under (25 & 28 goals).

    Calvert-Lewin 20/21?

Unsure if he was too old then though as I feel he's been around for a good 10 years already.

16 goals for him but yes, too old unfortunately. The player in question is also an England international.

Of the remaining players, only 3 are not full internationals.

Didn't Teddy Sheringham score a bundle for Forest in the first season of what we now know to be football? He was probably too old, but he must have been young at some point.

He was indeed 25, and that was actually the LAST season before football was actually invented. He then went on to top the scoring charts in the first ever PL season.

Smith managed 11 PL goals in 2000-01, but that was the Owen era.

He was at Genk that season. 11/12 is another foreign import who made a big impact.

Not too early, that was the year of the City title win with Balotelli's assist. 13 goals in what was actually his 2nd season in English football.

Just realised I completely forgot to finish this one off - looking for the top goalscorer who was 21 or under in each PL season. Remaining seasons and clubs they played for are below:

    1992-93 - Crystal Palace
    1996-97 - Leicester City
    1999-2000 - Leeds United
    2001-02 - Aston Villa
    2002-03 - Liverpool
    2003-04 - Portsmouth
    2008-09 - Arsenal
    2009-10 - Liverpool
    2014-15 - Tottenham Hotspur

All correct, Bridges was the one that surprised me the most, 19 goals for him in 1999-2000.

The Villa one must have been Vassell, although their 01-02 squad had Angel and Dublin so I imagine it can't have been many goals.

It is - 12 goals for Vassell. Angel also managed 12 and Dublin only 4, mainly from the bench.

Correct! A lean year for youngsters, he topped the charts for U-21s with just 5 goals in 2009-10.

I only ever remember him for a goal against United which I'm sure he nearly fucked up and then being mobbed by Reina.
