Where will Rooney be next year?

With him being linked with a return to Sven in China http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3355194/Wayne-Rooney-offered-75m-join-Sven-Goran-Eriksson-Chinese-Super-League.html
where do you think he will be?

He's clearly on his way out and undoubtedly past his best. Will China be his refuge?

    Sven

The Chinese Super League is probably at too high a level for him but fuck it, anywhere but United please.

I reckon his leaving will end up being dependent on whether United can sign a 'Gaalactico' to replace him (as a marketing device). If they can't they will probably end up keeping him around to impress their Asian sponsors.

I would have thought he'd be better off in America. He doesn't need the money that much.

Not a chance he goes to China imo. Not a good move for someone with a young family.

I think he will want to try and give World Cup 2018 a shot so I don't think he'd leave for somewhere like the MLS just yet. Everton is a good shout and I'd like to see that move happen. If it wasn't for that fact he has a £250,000 p/w contract until 2019 with Man United I think that move would happen.

It's strange to see Rooney coming to the end of his career. Although I've seen players like Beckham, Neville and Owen come to the end of their careers I don't really remember them breaking on to the scene.

He'll be at United still. The teams that can afford him don't want him.

Rooney's barely 30 though. He could still play in the European top flight for a few more years before he goes to the MLS

See, I reckon he's a bit slow for the MLS. It would be cool to see him go to Everton though.

It was really hard to forsee that only having one established striker (and that being Rooney) would cost United, really.

What Lewis said. How he plays is irrelevant as far as United are concerned, his value is in marketing.

They'd probably need Ronaldo to come back to compensate.

There are only 3 players anyone knows or cares of anymore in Asia, and those are Ronaldo who everyone hates, Messi and Neymar, who are loved by all.

Can't blame lvg for thinking he could rely exclusively on Fellainimania. Everyone else would have done the same.

He'd always done as well as someone who'd only been given chances off the bench could have.

Van Gaal moans about a lack of pace but has got rid of three of the quickest players he had in Welbeck, Hernandez and Wilson.

Of course he'd be a good player for a mid-table side, hes only really fallen off in the last 12 months

Rooney hasn't been able to control the ball for about three seasons. He is still massively marketable though.

His lifestyle has caught up with him as many would have thought.

What exactly does that mean? I'm not saying it's not the case, but in previous seasons he was still as mobile as ever. Why would it kill his touch before his 'engine'?

    Wah?

When he was 18-23 or so, he was a high tempo, bulldozing all action player in the mould of Suarez/Tevez. But he's been plodding his way through the last few seasons in slow motion.

United have been plodding their way through the last few seasons in slow motion. There were a few times in the last Ferguson season when he was looking like a bloater, but when David Moyes was in charge he often looked like the only outfield player making an effort (because he often was).

It means he's blowing out of his arse and is too tired to control the ball. He's failed his talent.

MLS is a different league from the (glorious) days of Blanco. Hence Lampard and Pirlo failing pretty massively here.

Theirs can be attributed to motivation. They're basically retired and making a fortune and it's still a shithouse.
