    ChatGPT etc

So I've started using mem.ai to help me with my lack of EXECUTIVE FUNCTION. It costs $10 a month.

It's a great note-taking app, because I don't have to structure anything like I do in OneNote etc. Also don't need separate apps or windows to create tasks.

What is cool though is the AI functionality. I am using it to re-write emails, content, link ideas. I feel like I'm not even scratching the surface of it's potential yet. I am pretty shit at writing things down unfortunately so must improve on that, but at least with mem I can just throw it in and not worry about obstacles like where to put it. If I'm on the go I can write a note in WhatsApp, send it to mem.ai contact and it automatically appears in my app.

    Anyone else embracing AI?

Have you considered asking the AI for help writing your posts @Magic?

I recently began using mem.ai to manage my executive function, and it has been incredibly helpful. The subscription fee of $10 per month is an excellent value.

Unlike other note-taking apps, mem.ai does not require me to structure my information, which is a great benefit. It also eliminates the need for separate apps or windows to create tasks.

The AI functionality of mem.ai is particularly impressive. I am using it to rewrite emails, content, and link ideas. I feel like I am just beginning to understand its potential. Since I am not the most organized person, mem.ai helps me by making it easy to store information without worrying about where to put it. Additionally, if I am away from my computer, I can send a note in WhatsApp to the mem.ai contact and it will automatically appear in my app.

Has anyone else been exploring the possibilities of AI?

My favourite bit is it actually knows what you're talking about. I received a pile of shit from a tech consultant for a proposal and threw it in to mem and it re-wrote it properly and actually added in additional info and features of the products that were mentioned. AWESOME.

Maybe you could get it to write your healthcare notes and people would end up leaving hospital alive.

I agree social media written by AI is absolutely pointless but in professional documents you want well written, easy to understand, flowing information.

Anyway re-writing content wasn't really the point it was more how it links information and how easy it is to access it. Like a Google for your own mind...

My guy above is on the ropes this morning, keep it together.

You do touch on a relevant point though, my highly-paid career is built on my ability to do everything such tools can do to a superior level than my peers but no man is going to compete with these machines soon so I'm definitely fascinated to see where this goes.

The last thing I’d want is for someone to start referencing ideas from an email I didn’t write.

Well you wouldn't have to structure it, and duplicate information that is relevant across topics can all be linked.

Do you copy and paste an email into it and then ask it to prepare an agenda? Or is it not like that?

Tried a few times with ChatGPT but always had some sort of issue with it. I have used another AI tool to make a worksheet for ones of my lessons at school, which I tried out today. I gave it a topic, amount of words, reading age and the tasks I wanted to go with the text and it generated a simple but effective work sheet.

    Currently it would be Taz.

There’s no way AI could do Taz. Taz himself can barely keep that shitshow going.

No. But to be fair it's best used on a PC/Laptop. I've got it on my iPad for meeting notes but I can also use WhatsApp to send quick notes and it goes in to my mem.ai inbox.

The more you sing it’s praises the less I understand it’s supposed use case and/or the more I think it’s for mongs with “ADHD” who have no prioritisation skills.

I'm yet to look into it but I recall being introduced to OneNote many years ago which was going to replace my pen and pad but it failed miserably. If meeting minutes and recording of action points and deadlines are fully and succesfully automated I could see me making the shift.

I hated OneNote and then having to copy tasks in to To-Do. Plus the big thing for me was linking info. So loads of data that could be cross-referenced was stuck under 'CUSTOMER' or whatever I'd saved it under.

At least with mem.ai the actual words aren't structured and I can see 'linked' mems (that's to say...posts? for want of a better word) and see potential links without having to remember where else it's stored or where else I'd put something, or even that it existed in the first place.

I wish mem.ai could integrate with EVERYTHING I use, especially work, but alas it doesn't. Only Google. There's API integration but no way that'll be approved by IT.

Not really as it's very specific info.

For example I've got a big internal project for a bit of software relevant to services we are selling now. So I've got a projectmem with all that detail in. If I search for 'billing' (billing platform) that comes up, plus any other mems that have words like "invoicing" or "direct debit" or anything the AI deems related to the word 'billing'.

What that does for me, is give me potential links that I haven't made yet which is super handy because I don't make these myself or forget. I can narrow that down with hashtags (example being 'project') and solidify links by manually linking them myself, and that references correctly relevant links rather than AI.

Also very useful where one person I add in can be linked with multiple things (companies, network events, referrals etc), again allowing me to potentially see patterns that I can't form in my head.

Please remember early days for me. I haven't even started to use Spotlight where you can snapshot content and links you're looking at on a screen without copypasta etc. Again this will be searchable in the AI so any content or links you've added in, without even adding any context, the AI will return if you search it. How many times do we favourite stuff and completely forget, or look at stuff and completely forget?

At the moment I'm just chucking everything in I possibly can in the hope it will be useful one day.

The holy grail of corporate dullness AI would be a flow of transcribing full audio from meeting -> creating meeting notes -> summarizing these into topics discussed and creating action points -> setting up a follow up meeting.

Maybe there is already a potential setup where you could use different tools to achieve this at this point.
