I enjoyed Creed 2, even if it's not as good as the original. Pretty sure he'd be dead, mind. It felt like a bit of a Rocky-by-numbers but I like Stallone and Jordan. And of course big Dolph.

I also rewatched the original Terminator film for the first time in years. So good.

I loved Predestination, but it's entirely based around a single idea and if you don't go with that idea when it's made clear then you'll hate it.

As for sci fi action films, Edge of Tomorrow is probably the best of the last few years.

I was disappointed with Us. It started out really well - felt unique and intriguing. But after the initial 30 mins it fell off a cliff.

I did enjoy Get Out though.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is going to divide people. I loved it, but I'd say you need decent knowledge of the Manson Family and their crimes going into the film.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is easily Tarantino's second worst film after Death Proof. That doesnt make it a bad film, it still has fantastic stand out moments but the first two hours is incredibly self indulgent and a meandering mess, with a couple of great scenes.

The final 40 minutes or so is up there with the best work he's ever done. Came away disappointed as I generally love his work.

I'm well aware of Manson/Tate/Polanski and while I understand why two of them weren't in the film that much, more than half the movie has absolutely fuck all to do with that scenario and feels like an excuse for Tarantino to indulge in tedious tangents.

Good madness? I still need to watch it.

I think I'll give Once Upon a Time on Hollywood a miss if it's worse than The Hateful Eight.

I think it's actually his worst. Death Proof, whilst atrocious, wasn't really meant to be a 'serious' effort. This is just two and a half hours of absolutely pointless shite and then a sort of lol fight scene.

And, Death Proof has that scene

Not that I've seen Once upon a time in hollywood.

But apart from that, my personal view is that Tarantino peaked with Kill Bill and has gone downhill since then. It's just too much slow talking in his later films (I know that's his thing, but for me it just gets a little bit too much). I couldn't get through Django, for instance, as I just got bored of it eventually.

Nah, Django and Reservoir Dogs are his best films in my opinion.

I presume it is as it all looks very similar right, but it doesn’t look to match any backstory that I’ve ever seen for the character (though I never read the comics).

I'm pretty sure they've made a new story outside of the DC comic universe for that film.

    It's non-canon.

They've also called him Arthur Fleck (A.Fleck, jab at Affleck?) despite The Joker actually having no name.
