The Lego Batman film was quite amazing.
The Lego Batman film was quite amazing.
Nah mate you watch some with subtitles you disgusting feck.
You seen Kuso DS?
Went to see the new Kingsman today which was enjoyable but nowhere near the first. I thought I might favour the first as it was completely unexpected going into it but it is just a better film. They also got the Americans spot on although they became pretty damn annoying quite quickly. I also feel that they went a bit too mental at times and focused too much on that side of the film.

Everyone seems to think that this new Blade Runner is great. Hands up who [else] wanted it to be shit...
Missus made me watch a film called 'Love and other drugs', starring Anne Hathaway's tits.
Great rack, no idea what the story was about
I also like Anne Hathaway and her tits.
I like tits.
John Wick 2 is poor. Who wants 2 separate 15 minute choreographed fights with fucking Common? Far too many changing objectives as well. John Wick 1 and similar movies like The Raid work because there's a singular quest and they're murdering literally everyone in the way of achieving it.
John Wick 1 is total bobbins and sounds like the plot was made up by some Red Bull-drinking teens on the back of a bus
There is no plot. That's why it's great.
I'm not sure if I'm more aghast at the fact that Flatliners has been remade, or that the original is being called into question by a tawdry modern-day cash grab.
Its Villeneuve, it was never going to be shit. Although some will claim it as such because nostalgia.
Spider-Man Homecoming is awesome.
I really don’t like the Marvel films but that one and Deadpool are standout brilliant.
I'm a twit
Just watched Icarus, awesome stuff.
Reg and I had a short exchange about that earlier in the thread. It was an unbelievable stroke of luck for the filmmaker.
Indeed.
One thing I didn't get was why the Russian was happy to be filmed being a dodgy fuck in the first place.
Baby Driver is pretty damn good.
Is that drugs one not mostly a setup?
Dunno, I thought I'd heard something somewhere along the way. Haven't seen it myself, wouldn't be my cup of scald.
Better Watch Out is a fun slice of horror. Stick with it, trust me.
I don't think it directly answers your question, but an interesting read nonetheless.

Cheers, an interesting read.

Blade Runner was pretty good, and fantastic cinematography-wise. Bit long and indulgent though and the plot twists are pretty obvious.
The sequel to Blade Runner is fairly good, but it's not in the same league as the original. Good cinematography, decent plot twists, a couple of heartbreaking moments - but it's far too eager to answer all of the questions raised by its predecessor, as well as those raised by itself.
I liked what one reviewer said about the story being "too late". The question it raises about

I liked it better than the original mind you. My only gripe is the music, which is classic bombastic Zimmer, and it just doesn't suit the movie.
I watched the original Blade Runner (final cut) last night and thought it was bang average. The thing with these 'it's all ambiguous and open to interpretation' type films is that genuine stupid mistakes can get brushed under the carpet as being part of the mystery/ambiguity of it. For example, Aryan archetype Rutger Hauer knew Deckard's name somehow and I couldn't figure out why and assumed it's because I've missed something. Apparently people have all kinds of theories on it but the Riddley Scott came out and said that it was just a daft mistake by the filmmakers.
I imagine I'd prefer this sequel. I'm not sure why though, but I'll probably see it in the cinema if I get the chance.
Got midnight Last Jedi tickets. The new trailer looks epic.
I watched 'Denial' today. Knowing nothing of the case beforehand it had me gripped until the end. A really fascinating insight to the mind of Irving and many who think like him.
Anyone else getting a bit fed up with Kermode and Mayo accusing every other film they watch of being sexist? It's getting really fucking tiresome, and essentially, devalues their opinion when there actually is an issue of sexism in a film.
What films have they labelled as that?
Hot Tits 3: The Juggening
Logan is very good because it doesn't feel like it's as long as it is. I haven't watched the recent X-Men movies that involved time travelling or maybe I did and simply forgot them so I don't understand the srt-up whatsoever but the actual movie itself is enjoyable.
Most films are sexist in the sense that women are treated as sex objects (both by writers and the camera) to a far greater degree than men are.
Also how many women 'character actors' are there compared to men.
Is she better or worse than Margot Martindale?
Neither is as good as Margo Martindale.
Thanks autocorrect.
Re-watched The Force Awakens. It's a good freaking movie, far better than Rogue One. Yes, it is the same story again, but I think they had to do that for this trilogy to work. Getting really excited for TLJ and it branching out more story-wise.
Finally got around to watching Trainspotting 2. It’s really not very good, is it?
I'm a twit
Yep, I thought it was pretty shit.
Kingsman 2 is so fucking stupid, it's brilliant.
It is. lol at Mahow moaning about 'plot holes'.
I mean I thought the whole point of the films is that they are satire of the spy film genre (stuff like James Bond), and all those things Mahow is bitching about are a deliberate part of that.

They are but I thought the first did a better job of it.
It's like Deadpool being SELF AWARE.
