Did it come with subs or not? I got a really good copy but wasn't sure if it was meant to be subtitled in the non-English bits.

The Witch is great but it's from last year, no?

    My top 5:

    Arrival
    Rogue One
    War Dogs
    Sausage Party
    Midnight Special

Obviously there's a lot I'm yet to see.

I thought about War Dogs but then decided against it as some sort of Tropic Thunder bullshit. Was I wrong?

I didn't really like The Nice Guys but I don't think I have it my full attention. Loved Hell or High Water, totally didn't expect to like it as much as I did.

    Moonlight
    La La Land
    Embrace of the Serpent
    The Handmaiden
    Everybody Wants Some

I'd say it's been a pretty shite year but the top two redeem everything else by far.

Watched The Revenant tonight. Brilliant film.

The storyline/style reminded me of an old western film.

Our tastes aren't so dissimilar, are they? We just tend to watch different sorts of films. The Witch was really great as well, and I enjoyed Perfect Strangers a lot when I watched it on an airplane.

Half of it did, which helped because the other half was still quite hard to understand.

Before we watched it, my wife asked "whether this was the film where a bear rapes a man". Not sure that's ever happened sweetheart.

The Girl on the Train - Twisty, broken, odd structure to what is, essentially, a very, very straight forward thriller. Nearly lost me in the opening 30 but made up for it a touch later on. Solid, forgettable.

Evolution (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4291590/) - Weird ginger pale women and young boys in a remote island place doing weird things with and without the boys all wrapped up in gorgeous cinematography and injected to the eyeballs with a speedball of Noe. Fantastic, but I don't know what happened. Feels like a dream.

Piratebay works great with a proxy. Opera in-built proxy/vpn (whatever it is) does the trick.

The article is bollocks, Hive came out the same day appealing for someone to share with them. Its based off an nfo where they just appealed for people to contact them:

PS: you wanted scr right, well us too, pics everywhere but need the people to contact us who actually have them.
they dont appear from itself. you want to contribute for the majority, well here is your chance to make a difference.

And the source vobs for Fences were horrendous to begin with, the xvid encode shows that. Seems it leaked accidentally as Unknown removed their copy from IPT within the hour.

I'm watching something called Living on One Dollar where two yanks go to a remote shithole (albeit one with nice scenery) and try to live on one dollar each per day.

But to try and simulate the randomness of when people in poverty get paid they've put numbers from 0 to 9 in a hat which they pick from each day and will get that many dollars that day. Er, you what?

Operation Avalanche was enjoyable. Its a bit of a thin idea spread over 90 minutes but its never less than entertaining.

I like a slow-burning, well-made pretentious wankfest as much as the next man, but this wasn't remotely subtle or meaningful, so you're just sitting for eight hours and then nothing happens.

Since when does Scorsese do slow and boring pretentious wankfests?

Don't get me wrong - I believe you when you say it, Lew, but I'm more worried about whether Scorsese will all of a sudden have some sort of "antithesis-of-self" revelation and start making shit films instead of entertaining films.

It was pretty good. Goes quite a way to explaining what happened too rather than just EXPLOSHUNS!!!!

Although I think they maybe overdid John Malkovich's character being the 'villain'.

Interesting... I thought it was the opposite.... was too many explosions and not enough technical boring stuff to explain what actually happened.
