I rewatched shaun of the dead recently - still amusing. But that did make me decide to finally watch Paul which is absolute nonsense, but enjoyable nonsense.

The only good Lynch is Mulholland Drive. He does films for film wankers to knock one out too when realistically it's jumbled bullshit with zero narrative or tangible thread holding the nonsense together, and I'm usually a sucker for that stuff. Just watch Spring if you want weird, underrated, odd horror vibes.
Also, Longlegs is available.
The Elephant Man and The Straight Story are good.
I always forget he did The Elephant Man. Yeah that's great.
Knocked another one out I’ve been meaning to watch for ages. Really enjoyed air.
Might rewatch the bourne films this weekend. Matt Damon is some actor.
I watched The Warriors for the first time ever. Despite having no likeable characters and the ending being a complete anticlimax, I can’t deny I enjoyed it. The intro is cool.

New Order - https://m.imdb.com/title/tt12474056/
Relentlessly bleak film. I found it gripping. Uprising in Mexico, whilst a wedding party for the elites goes on. Things go to shit.
Very very strong opening, sags a little in the middle, but I enjoyed my time with it. About 95 minutes long. It's fucking brutal in places be warned. On Mubi.
In case @Baz knows, I'm also trying to remember a film during my childhood where humans would fight each other by climbing into large robots and then fighting. Was so good, but not sure if I dreamt it.
I was hoping this Sven documentary on Prime would be about Sven Goran-Eriksson but it’s really a film about the England national team during his tenure.

Always enjoyed The Sandlot as a kid. Was a great film.
Longlegs
Feels weirdly AI generated. Horror by ten tropes. Opening first 15/20 sets a decent path but it all ends up silly, boring and nonsensical.
Yep, one of my favourite films.

For those always asking about horror I've done a little list of what I'm watching next, and the three coming up soon:
Milk and Serial (watching now)
Thine Ears Shall Bleed
The Coffee Table
Starve Acre
The Devil's Bath
Exhuma
Desaparecer Por Completo
In a Violent Nature
The Vourdalak
The Moor
To come:
The Substance
Cuckoo
Strange Darling.
Apparently you want to know as little as possible about The Substance as possible beforehand.
I wathed The First Omen last night, it was pretty good I thought. Nothing groundbreaking but some good performances and they nailed period setting.
Watched Haunt tonight, was decent enough but fell off the last 20 minutes.
Alien: Romulus really does shit the bed near the end. Wow.
Was a decent film up until that point too.
Oddity is fucking terrifying.
It's what all the marketing about Longlegs said it was going to be.
It means I don't have a link to it mate. Didn't interest me in the first place but checked the files out and those links are now down.
There’s a Spanish film called The Coffee Table and holy smokes it’s good. Probably not as impactful as [the original] Speak No Evil, personally, but fucking hell what a film. Seek it out, but don’t look it up.
Surprised how many times I lolled out loud tbh. It is so well done.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was wank, a load of scripts pritt sticked together. Keaton is great as always but can't save it.
Fucking watch Rebel Ridge, thanks lads.
Rebel Ridghe is fantastic. Anyone thats slightly interested should not watch the trailer.
Did I watch the wrong film? It’s dreadful.

Great ad forToggle Spoilerthough. Everyone should consider carrying it.

I’m watching Trap and if I didn’t know better, I’d guess it was Josh Hartnett’s first ever acting job.

Just watched Longlegs. Cage is great but the film is not.

The Substance is my favourite film since Titane. Horror as a genre is in a fucking great place right now, and its all down to the female directors absolutely smashig it out the park of late.
Everything I'm hearing about The Substance sounds absolutely immense, just a shame that (body) horror really isn't for me.
I wasn't sure if I'd like The Substance but it was brilliant.
Megalopolis is mad.
Regardless of whether it's "good" or "bad" (a couple of days have passed and I'm still no closer to really deciding) the brass neck involved in throwing $120M of your own money at something so unconventional and getting it out there as a big release is impressive. Financially very unwise, obviously. But fuck it. I respect it.
Add me to the list of people approving The Substance.
Megalopolis is awful.
Had the day off work yesterday so I went & caught The Outrun. Trailer looked exactly my sort of thing, so I was really hoping it would be good & thankfully it delivered. Right up there with The Substance near the top of the list of the best films I’ve seen this year, although obviously they’re basically completely opposite of each other.
Saoirse Ronan is excellent & should probably be on my list of people that immediately signal a film is worth watching.
Got Sing Sing on Saturday, which I’m equally desperate to live up to expectations, but first I’m seeing Joker tomorrow, so that should be an interesting one given I thought the trailer looked good but it’s apparently bombing massively.
Longlegs quickly became Lostlegs.
Strange Darling
Love me some Gallner (Dinner in America is an all timer). However, yet another film where the OMG HYPE doesn't match the content. Blatantly obvious from the off, but a decent journey to get there.
Yeah I didn’t like it at all.

I enjoyed it. Not that it was mind-blowing, but the 'how' was nicely done I thought, down to the slightly over-saturated color palette (loved the forest scenes, for instance). I will admit to catching on later than most to where the plot was going, though.
On The Substance
Saw it in the cinema with basically no clue what was going to happen, good decision.
Minor criticisms:

Still excellent, and that last third is just made for watching it in the cinema.
