I don't understand how you can shit up a cake. Mix + gas mark 6 for so many minutes + some icing sugar at the end = job done.

Yeah, unless it's a regular hobby, it's far cheaper to just buy a cake.

No. The tarts from before got shared about amongst mine and my girlfriend's families. Those eclairs were eaten by my group at Uni (I had one).
That's part of the reason I don't bake more to be honest - I don't want to end up an amorphous blob.

In Benny's cooking world, I've put my slow cooker to good use, got a chilli to look forward to tonight. Cooked it last night (used Guinness and Chipotle peppers to be extra poncy) and have let it rest for the day, the flavours are going to blow my mind.
My girlfriend bought a food processor. Last week she used it to make guacamole. The quality is not the same as hand made. She was told so and she is back to doing it by hand. Guacamole.

Yeah, for someone happy to live on crisps and sausages for the rest of their life the investment probably isn't worth it.
I am still determined to do medicine, but if it turns out I can't (due to the migraines) I think I would look to do something in food.

There's varying degrees of it. I prefer the totally smooth one personally but the one you will normally see on a resraurant menu here is full of grains, as is the main brand that the tourists always go mad for. Very hard to find one with proper blood in it these days too.
The one you want is Rudd's if you see it anywhere.

While we're on takeaways, are dedicated dessert delivery places a thing anywhere else? I know of about five that have opened up in the last year, offering nothing but ice cream and various cakes, and it all seems completely unnecessary. There's no chance there are enough bereaved women and fat wankers, even in Glasgow, to support five of them, so who the fuck is keeping them afloat?

Wtf is quinoa? My wife wants me to make a Spring Quinoa Salad with Honey Lemon Vinaigrette for us to eat this week and has dropped the recipe on the desk for me to look at.
Kind of like giant couscous but it's a grain rather than being artificially made. It's also four times the price.

Used it recently in a chilli to replace the minced beef and it wasn't bad. Needed a lot of flavour added (and a bank loan), but was a decent change.
