There is a Wimpy on Portsmouth front that isn't bad (right up your street Idiotmouse). They use good bread.
The chicken thing was always better in the wimpy, probably the best of any burger chain, although we're talking decades ago here, and I vaguely recall attending one at an M25 services more recently (like in the last 10 years at some point) and being disappointed by it. Do they still do the bender in a bun?

It is a sweet and sour but not how your brain imagines it if you’ve never had it. If it’s done right it should be really sticky tasting.
I made one on Thursday and forgot how much I loved it. Very hard to get in a takeaway here but I know it’s a regular on a UK menu.

I love the taste of a dhansak but lentils are not pleasant.

For once I find myself fully behind a Phonics post.
A lot of the time people will block out traumatic experiences.
It was good shit. I was worried it would be like a Chinese Sweet and Sour - of which I'm not a fan, it's all sweet, fuck all sour to be found - but it is a low key sweet and a limey sour. Decent spice level as well.
Obscene amount of oil in it, but it didn't ruin it and that may be the restaurants fault rather than the dish?
I had Caribbean last night - chicken curry and jerk chicken and loads of random shit dumpling stuff and a festival (like a churro almost). The jerk was brilliant.
Made jerk skewers during the week one day myself. It’s very nice.
Curry goat and a dumpling is a brilliant Caribbean meal.
I did my first attempt at a crispy salt and chilli chicken tonight and it was pretty decent.
Making fajitas tonight; if I'm ever out at one of those wanky 'sports bars'/franchised 'grills', the kinds of which you only really find this side of the Atlantic, they are my go-to choice.
Steak and chicken.
Did some sausage rolls yesterday. Apple, caramelised onion and a bit of wholegrain mustard. Belting.

The quality of meat and seafood showing up in the super markets atm because we arent sending it to China is great.
Takeaway from my local restaurant last night. Honey BBQ/Salt & chilli wings, bacon cheeseburger, bacon cheese chicken burger, haggis fries and some dirty macaroni.
That gooks great. Shame about the chips.
The BBQ sauce to wing ratio leaves something to be desired.
That picture of the haggis and chips should henceforth replace the saltire.
Frozen chips are perfectly fine with that kind of food. He’s not eating a battered cod down the sea front.
Could do with losing the offal though and even though wings are always pointless, those are fairly decent looking if you’re into sucking bones.

Guess I’m in the minority thinking that looks pretty rough.
The burger looks almost passable if a bit dry.
Closest I’ve come to a takeaway recently was swinging by an Indian on a walk home to buy a couple of naan breads to go alongside a curry I made myself.
There’s probably more fat and calories in your creamed celeriac purée and caviar risotto.
What about my chicken and mushroom pie?
