The CLASSIC giggles is where you're a complete twat though. People don't have to like or dislike something because of a persona or because people feel they should, it should just be down to what they like.
If I never bothered trying them with anything because I thought it was pretentious or force fed myself them plain even though I think they're nicer coated, then you could CLASSIC away to your little hearts content. You're trying too hard in this case and just blowing your wad a little easy.

    Sorry.

I didn't mean it to come across as cunty as it did, I'm not very good at this banter shit. I'll go back to posting stupid youtube videos. x

Stand your ground son. Liking his pancakes plain is absolutely CLASSIC Giggles, and I don't know why he's so bum-devestated about it.

We have a company line on pancake toppings now? When did that happen? I'll update the handbook.

It absolutely fits your persona to have pancakes plain, though. Whether you're doing it deliberately is irrelevant.

Going bonkers over a tiny poke is also CLASSIC Giggles, come to think of it. You're on a roll here.

Ah the big guns wade in

Well done on taking the time to quote and not even getting what was said. And, bonkers? Jesus Christ be a bit more melodramatic there you fiery little tart.

I bet it's Scotch pancakes (the thick ones made with self-raising flour) he's on about and you're all going to look like dicks.

And if it is, he's also right.

Had a ham and cheese pancake for lunch. It was quality.

Will probably hold off doing all three meals in pancake form.

Well I call them Northy pancakes but I expect they're the same. That said, I also like the thin ones with nothing as I like the taste but it's the self raising ones I'm making. Just made the mix.
Why let being right or having a preference get in the way of the forum narrative though?

The Mrs had said about cheese in one and it's something I've never tried. I make a batch again some day to try that as it sounds interesting.

I'm having some with mushrooms garlic and cheese which are rolled up, bread-crumbed and fried again.

    They're a Polish staple.

Gravy or golden syrup for me.

Pancakes are basically the same thing as Yorkshire puddings so gravy is perfectly appropriate, before any cunt starts piping up about it.

You're doing either pancakes or Yorkshire puddings wrong if they're basically the same thing.

Well they do have the same ingredients in pretty much the same proportions and so aren't particularly different in terms of taste. I guess it logically should kind of make sense.

In reality it doesn't though, and you should be ashamed of yourself for doing it.

Hammer's right. My friend told me this at school and my mind was blown.

Pancakes only seem really different because we put sugar and lemon and whatnot on them.

Someone give me a good (and preferably easy) recipe for a tasty soup in the slow cooker.

I was looking at some that looked pretty nice but they were all like 'fry this and that first'. Fuck that. I want to just dump it all in and leave it.

Kind of, you cook them in a very different way and end up with different textures and consistency.

It is obviously not Fat Tuesday for the rest of the thread. What is the UK version?

Sadly I'm in the non-New Orleans (or the shit) part of the US today so it is just taking the afternoon off, King Cake, and teaching my daughters how to make gumbo today.

You lot are definitely doing pancakes wrong if you accept the idea they're just Yorkshire puddings cooked differently. Put some sugar in for fuck's sake.

Even allowing for the ingredients being exactly the same they're such obviously different things that saying so isn't a justification for putting gravy on a pancake. Use the same justification and serve up a pancake with your next roast dinner, see how that goes down with the family.
