Smith. Smudger to his mates.
Any truth to the Sturridge rumours? Apparently God doesn't want him to play.
This?
That would be amazing. Was it Carlos Roa who binned it off because he thought the world was going to end? What a pleb.
I think it's more likely that god just hasn't given him a very functional set of legs.
Elliot Smith.
I'm a twit
Yeah, what a load of twonk.
If there is a God he will now endeavour to make that story true.
It'll make me a believer anyway.
Liverpool fans plan 77th minute walk out over ticket prices.
http://www.theguardian.com/football/...-ticket-prices
Good. Hopefully, they do it every game until clubs stop rinsing the fans.
What better way to demonstrate against high prices than by saying 'We're going to continue paying your high prices, but voluntarily deny ourselves some of the product it buys us'.
It's better than doing fuck all. What other premier league fans doing?
Yes, ideally, they wouldn't turn up at all - however, with season ticket holders already having spent $70 for the ticket, I don't blame them for wanting to get their money's worth to some extent
It's fucking pointless.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
It's possible that noone else will find this as funny as I did, but I think it's excellent:
And now look where we are, our squad is pure shite
I'm writing poems about 10 years ago when we had a great night
But ever since then our squad went all wrong
When will get back to the place we belong?
First there was Rafa, a great motivator
Within five years he was a fat Spanish waiter
Keane, N'gog, Babel and Kuyt,
But in five more years the idiot won nout.
It come to a head when he tried to sell Xabi
A Spanish great replaced with fecking Gareth Barry?
So we sent Rafa picking, but still we march on
Cuz the club will live on after the waiter has gone.
So in came Hodgson a face like an owl
He brought in Konchevsky, and our play was so fowl.
He didn't last long, he didn't have a chance
Cuz even the fans knew that Joe Cole is pants
Still though that year was one of the best in me life
I remember it well, my tears woke up the wife
I knew it I cried, just as Liverpool had planned
Raul Meireles was the best player in the land
After the owl then please arise Sir Ken
The title is coming back to Anfield again
Wait is this a joke, is this meant to be funny
Andy fecking Carroll cost how much money?
But still we supported our team, through this racism stuff hurt
I spent half my rent on a Suarrz is innocent shirt
And lost countless hours on google incognito
Finding the differences between negro and negrito
It still didn't matter the FA rule the land
And innocent little old Luis was banned
So we complained online we won't take this lightly
So it hurt all the more when Suarez got bitey
And so onwards and upwards here came Brendan the young
Possession, attacking and the Kop surely sung
We knew that in time the title would come
What I had waited for had surely begun
Now what comes next sent me to heaven
The red man had rose and Moyes was in seven
Suarez, Sturbridge and Sterling couldn't be stopped
And when May come around the prem we did top
But alas it was to soon, and although Pulis was crap
While I cried he stood there laughing in his crystal palace cap
Because our captain, our leader, our legend did trip
We lost the whole league because of ONE feckING SLIP.
So Brendan came back but without the Uruguyan
He couldn't bring us the prem no matter how hard he was trying
And he spent 40 mil on a striker who though well meant
Can barely trap a bag of cement
So we cast our net far and asunder
Desperate to not make another massive blunder
In came Klopp and my title hopes grew
We wanted the league, we were back everyone knew.
But I have to admit that progress is slow
United are above us, Everton just below
But at least we still have a massive celebration
2-2 with West Brom produced jubilation
So sure we no longer compete in Champions Cheer
But Europe misses us more, the famous Anfield atmosphere
We still sing our song at least two times a game
I KNOW that Jurgen Klopp will finally end my pain.
I don't get why such a big deal is being made of it;
'It's the first ever walkout!'
It's almost like these types have to feel special and remind people that they are so special.
What a crock of shit this is.
Should have started out saying they were going to put some tickets at £96 and then reduced it to £77.
Rookie error.
This tweet from Liverpool FC was well timed. I like the responses...

No, it's stupid. If you don't want to pay the money, then don't pay the money. There's no clawing back the soul of football at this point, and what sort of message does it send to say "we'll continue paying the money". It'd be different if they cancelled their season ticket, but they don't want to do that because for the sort of people who get worked up about this, the football club is their life. See: manc sean.
I bet it'll have the same earth-shattering consequences as the Green & Gold campaign did at United.
Stupid? What is stupid is expecting people who waited 15 odd years for a season ticket, spent a few years paying over £1,000 and the asking them just to rip it up halfway through the season. That season ticket, by the way, will just be sold to some higher earning mug who lives in Macclesfield. It solves nothing. It's completely unrealistic.
I'm not saying that this will work - something a lot more substantial has to happen. However, as a first step it's better than just carrying a banner, or telling everyone to rip up their season tickets.
It's a shame it's come to this. I don't think it will get a great deal of support though. Even if it does, it accomplishes nothing.
The way to protest ticket prices is to stop buying tickets. So long as the stadium keeps selling out, the prices will continue to climb. To be honest I'll be surprised if the owners even know anything happened, come this time next week.
I don't see any problem with it. "Stop buying tickets" doesn't work because at a club as big as Liverpool there will always be more people buying tickets. As ways of visible protest go it's not a bad way to do it, and it's an issue worth protesting.
Alex Teixeira has joined Jiangsu Suning for $50m.
The Chinese seem to be going crazy at the moment. Will it actually change anything for football in their country?
I'd say it's definitely raising the profile of the domestic game. As with most Asian (especially ASEAN) countries, the locals love football - but more so European football, than domestic football. The fact that these players are joining the local league is definitely going to help.
FSG have apologised and frozen ticket prices at this seasons keep for the next 2 seasons and increased the number of £9 tickets to 10,000 over the season.
Whilst it's a step in the right direction, It's still too expensive in most grounds and hopefully now there is a more collective opposition via FSF.
I asked in the weekly thread but was all this for just 200 tickets over 6 games?
Not like them to overreact.
It's about the general price increases, the categorisations, and lack of affordable tickets for juniors and under 21's.
It was about £77 tickets.
Ok then.
If you read the statements by both Spoin Kop and SoS, it's pretty clear what the walkout was about.
I'm usually one to enjoy laughing at Liverpool and there fans but in this instance I 100% agree. Owners are taking the piss out of fans. They can't just keep hiking up prices and in doing so pricing locals out of the stadium.
The tv deal next season will make every club cash rich, there's no need to raise prices. It's a piss take. Hopefully more fans vote with their feet.
£20 cap for away fans, £10 cap for kids, £10 cap for all domestic cup games and bring back safe standing. Sorted.
This hasn't really worked has it though? Yeah, there are no 77 quid tickets but instead they've wiped those out and added them onto the normal tickets so you'll still end up spending an extra 200 quid a season.
I can't remember the figures off my head, but FSG (the owners) currently make something like £34m per season from gates - the proposal last week took that figure to £39m. The latest announcement made said that it would stick at £34m, plus any extra for the new seats won't exceed £59 per ticket (which is still too expensive in my opinion). And (perhaps all) ST and general admission prices are fixed at this seasons prices, for 2 seasons (again, not far enough in my opinion, but a start).
Edit; I would like to reserve some judgement here, as I've just read elsewhere that some 35% of tickets will still be more expensive next season, albeit, a lot less expensive since the climb down from FSG. Basically, a good first step, but much more needed.
So yeah, it makes a difference.
Ah, they've removed the categorisation of games so that's where the increase is coming from, no cheap tickets to watch them smash Norwich.
Flanno has signed a new contract.
Word on the street sez that Mario Gotze is in the Kloppmobile for a deal worth something just shy of £20m.
On the one hand, an attacking midfielder is probably not the position where the squad really needs strengthening. On the other hand, he's better than anyone in there at the moment, so if it's true, then that's still fantastic.
.....
It's exactly the kind of signing we are linked to, spend 3 weeks negotiating and then lose out to Chelsea/Tottenham.
Enough to move from report, to hope, to excitement, to almost expectation, to disappointment and then right to bitterness. See Alexis Sanchez.
.....
.....
We've now made some kind of bid for Ter Stegen. Unfortunately our stalling has let City talk to him first and he as of now, wants to play at the Emptihad.
Why join City to become Hart's back-up?
Still, it's nice being linked to players like ter Stegen and Gotze.
No doubt we'll sign Shay Given and Michael Dawson.
Guardiola has probably taken one look at Hart and decided he's not good enough in possession.
