Lallana's out for a couple of months. And so it begins again.
Meanwhile Coutniho is 'injured' and thus out of today's friendly. Bad times.

I forgot that was on today, Dublin will be mental later on. There's 50,000 expected for that game and Croke Park is sold out at over 80,000. Glad I don't need to go in for anything.
Quoting yourself.
Saves me having to go to the previous page every time I want to copy and paste it. I fear it will be used a lot this season.
Klopp describing the Watford goals as unlucky is bizarre. 2 goals again from set pieces.... the zonal marking clearly still isn't working... yet Kloppo says we were unlucky - forget the offside - they would have probably scored anyway.
Carragher was right when he argued with Redknapp... van Dijk isn't going to fix this problem - it has to come from the training ground.
Was it offside? I thought the ball didn't actually go forwards from the cross/shot that Mignolet palmed up onto the bar so surely Britos is free to knock it in then?
Ball doesn't have to go forwards, he was in front of the ball at the time it was played therefore he's offside.
I agree with John Arne (and Carragher) re: the defensive issues. It seems like van Dijk has become Baresi's regen this summer to some Liverpool fans; a lot seem convinced they're going to suddenly become rock a solid defensive unit once he signs.
We'd find a way to make Bonnuci look wank.
It's a style issue above all else. You wont fix our defence from open play without making us a little more conservative, no matter the personnel. The corner issue is a different story. Going back to Rafa we've had zonal, and going back further it didn't work. However Klopp seems stubborn to the point of stupidity on certain things, so I wont expect it to change.
As I think has been mentioned already, and in a similar vein to the above, Liverpool's best hope to avoid conceding from corners (and set pieces) is to avoid conceding them in the first place. I don't see how Van Dijk improves that, it's not like Lovren and Matip are massive liabilities in that regard.
Plus a throw in was given which didn't go out, and Richarlison fouled Gomez but got a free kick.

Should just line the entire team up along the line to block the ball from the inevitable header/shot.
Should probably just take some of the chances to make it 4 and then 5-2, and not have to worry about last minute set piece trauma, which is inevitable and apparently entirely unavoidable.
Presuming that Coutinho doesn't leave for Barcelona today - a decent window for us, I reckon. Van Dijk would have made it the perfect window - alas, Klavan will have to do the job for us.

Apparently Liverpool could be paying up to Ł66m for Keita depending on where RB Leipzig finish in the league.

The nicest thing about that is you can tell he wrote it because it's full of footballer lingo. 'Let me tell you that now' 'Sets an example to the rest of us'
Though the use of the hyphen sets off my filter. There is no way a footballer is using an en-dash.
He’s a future captain
I like that he stakes his claim as THE left-back. #lolmoreno

Zeljko “The Brain” Buvac has quit as Klopp’s assistant, after seventeen years together.
Meanwhile the Ruben Neves rumours are gathering traction, seemingly purely because his sister went to Liverpool for the day and put it on Instagram. If we’re signing anyone from the Championship please let it be Sessegnon.

Slow down. Neves isn't going to stake a step down next season.
Champions League within two years.
At this point I'm just going to wait till somethings announced.
Today I have read that the following have agreed terms: This bloke I've never heard of, Marco Allegri, Mikel Arteta and Rui Faria. That's only counting Tuesdays stories.
Seems odd he'd just fuck Klopp off for a managers job after 17 years.
It also seems odd Arsenal would want a 57 year old with zero experience in the top job anywhere, to come in as possibly their most important appointment in their history.
What I want to know is if this bloke is the brains, then what does Klopp bring? Shouting and looking like a tramp?
He calls himself 'the heart' so presumably the shouting is a big part of that.
I'm skeptical as to what degree Buvac can really be the smart one. They had an agreement that whoever got a management job first would take the other on as their assistant, but then Buvac left a management position to be Klopp's assistant anyway.
The 2ICs always get way more credit than they probably deserve. How many 'irreplaceable' assistants did Fergie have? Not that many stellar managerial careers emerging from those. Benitez was never the same without his mate Paco etc.
Klopp has another minion anyway and maybe thhere is an actual 'personal reason' for this hiatus - be it family or bickering (hasn't he fallen out with, and left Klopp before)?
Hopefully klopp falls to bits and ends up blowing his brains out.
Peter Kraweitz. He's "The eyes."
That completes what sounds like the worlds shittest crime fighting team.
It is interesting, if it is a falling out with Klopp, what has caused this after so long following each other around together. It'd have to be something big surely.
Like I said, I'm sure I read somewhere he's/they've done this before.
Also, I guess the Arsenal link is down to their new director of football or whatever that ex-Dortmund guy is.
'The eyes' is off to NEC Breda apparently.
It's alright, I'm sure Gerrard and, er, some other mook, are well placed to step into their shoes.
If only we knew someone with strong Liverpool ties that was free until the end of the season.
I'm not saying the assistants weren't useful, just that they weren't the ones that were actually important, as their interchangeability, and subsequent failures, proved.
Not that I can ever imagine Schteve being called 'The Brain'. Who would be Pinky?

Kenny Dalglish has been knighted.
He's on Sky Sports News now and he's just spent at least a minute describing the process of opening a letter.
