My first gig was him and Clapton. I hadn't listened to Beck much but he was incredible. Maybe the best guitar performance I've ever seen.

    David Crosby.

Somebody who always came across (at least to me) as a little bit of an arsehole and at times something of a walking cliche but I also couldn't help but sort of begrudgingly like.

The Byrds and CSNY too. It's not a bad track record is it. Plus "Almost Cut My Hair" is legitimately one of my favourite songs ever.

Here's a perfect example of this:

Being a complete knob but also hilarious.

She was good in Bosch too. Obviously it's a massive cliche but really no age to go.

Tom Verlaine also went a couple of days ago, albeit at the slightly more acceptable (but still quite young in the grand scheme of things) age of 73. We talk about people being "influential" and it's over used but the influence Television had on so much music that came after them is difficult to overstate. Marquee Moon really is a near-perfect album.

Didn't get anywhere near enough reaction this one lads. I'm letting Jimmy off for being abroad and probably missing, but the rest of you have no excuse.

I expect better when Clive dies.

Content wise, Motty was pants. But in terms of tone/delivery, he was masterful. Probably why he ended up on TV. Same logic as Murray Walker.

    And Jim Ross, I guess.

Let’s have it: Best sports commentator of all time?
For me there is only one answer, and it’s Joe Rogan.

Mauro Ranello during the NXT days.

He sometimes went a bit overboard especially with the "Mamma Mia"'s but when he was on form he enhanced so many matches.

Greg Olsen was also becoming my favourite NFL commentator (but he's sadly going to be replaced by dickhead Tom Brady), during a Thanksgiving game he got incredibly passionate about a Turducken which was quality.

In terms of football, Motson's top. Barry Davies wasn't on FIFA. If I'm talking all sports:

    1) Murray Walker
    2) Peter Alliss
    3) Ted Lowe
    4) John Motson
    5) Barry Davies
    6) Toby Moody and Julian Ryder (It's a package deal)

Murray Walker obviously by miles if we're talking all sports, but Benaud is up there too. I always found Peter Alliss a bit of a stuck-up bore.
