That Roy Orbison comment is appalling.

It sounds like he's singing into a bucket, and the consequent noise is then piped from the PA system used by a 1990s pub quiz into the recording mic. Awful. Good songs though.

First time I hear/read of 'the Wilbury's.' Who else was on the SUPER BAND? I gather that Tom Petty and Roy Orbison were.

I've heard of Tom Petty and Roy Orbison but The Wilburys? I'd barely have been able to say they were a band and I'm far superior to Spikey in all regards.

The Traveling Wilburys (sometimes shortened to the Wilburys) were a British-American supergroup consisting of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty. The band recorded two albums, the first in 1988 and the second in 1990, though Orbison died before the second was recorded.
I'll admit they passed me by.

George Harrison, Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan were the other members.

I'm surprised that so few people know about them. They've always been on my radar, so perhaps my perception of their popularity is a bit skewed.

I'm familiar with all the individual members and their work (regrettably in Dylan's case), I just never knew they were all in a supergroup together in the late 80s.

The Travelling Wilburys is a good supergroup name though, I'll give them that.

    Never heard of Jeff Lynne.

Apart from Bob Dylan and George Harrison, I didn't know the others were MEGA at all.

The Travelling Wilburys had some kind of greatest hits not too long ago, I didn't know of them until that ad seemed to be on TV all the time.

I'm on that train as well. It was only recently I realised all my favourite Beatles songs are in fact George Harrison written songs.

Well that's the equaliser netted after I did you for racism earlier, albeit I somehow came off worse there as well.

He was though. Paul McCartney is a dweeb and Lennon was a bore.

Harrison was brilliant, but it's a proper hipster view to pretend he was better than McCartney or Lennon.

His songs are all great, but they make up about four per cent of the overall output. Plus he used to get Eric Clapton to do the hard bits for him.

Look, I happen to like Audioslave's first album, okay? An actual answer is this: "Guys from those bands you like, that are no longer active, are coming together to make more music. It might sound good."

Not even any clues on this one, the BBC story mentions that he'd been in hospital but not even a 'short illness' could be blamed this time.

The NFL coverage became a lot worse when they decided to shove him out for Dara Kennedy.

The Thanksgiving games with Big Kev, Cecil and Neil were brilliant.

Not really a 'celeb' but one of the main journalists to connect the Panama Papers to government officials was blown up by a car bomb outside her house in Malta today in not suspicious at all circumstances.

That leaves Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis, so there is clearly something to be said for sitting down.

The Carluccio's near me closed down about a month ago, to be replaced by Tony Macaroni. Maybe what killed him.
