I think it is an interest. Not fucking children, of course, but the depths of depravity people will sink to. For us, it is simply beyond comprehension, but for them it's entirely normal. There's no difference between normal human age-similar relationships and them raping children. I get the whole 'burn them at the stake!' thing but it isn't solving the root of the issue. It seems to be much more widespread in the church because they are arresting adolescents with very little sexual maturity in to celibacy (lolGS) so the theory is the priests seek out humans with similar sexual maturity (kids).
