Taker, Bork, Berg and Angle will probably be the last four entrants in that order.

Imagine the scenes if these four are left standing.

...in addition to this post, are we expecting the H to stick his nose in this wankfest?

He wins the Rumble, wins the Smackdown belt in the penultimate WrestleMania match (after another lol feud with Don Cena), and then starts mouthing off about TNA until Mick Foley comes out and turns the Raw match into a triple threat which he wins before retiring.

HOF basically confirmed Angle not returning. Too risky with addiction to painkillers and his neck issues.

I've been listening to some Ryback shoots today/yesterday, and he seems like a bit of a pleb. Yeah, mate. Of course you and Baroque Les-nar would have broken pay per view records if they had given you a mega push. Yeah.

Because Blampied doesn't do How WWE Should.... videos as often as I'd like I've been giving Wrestling With Wregret a go. Not bad.

    Are JR's podcasts any good?

He did a should book of the Royal Rumble yesterday. I thought it was pretty good, though I'm a little unconvinced by his choice of winner.

Comes out with some vaguely interesting ideas sometimes, but there's a few things he just constantly bangs on about regardless of context. Yeah, heels acting cool and not cheating is annoying, we know, yeah, reintroducing time-limit draws and being more consistent on DQ calls would be an improvement, we fucking KNOW.

He's an absolutely hopeless interviewer, though. Beyond awful. He asks really leading questions, usually about stuff which interests himself rather than relating to the guest, then sorta gives his own opinion in a way that would make it hard for the other person to disagree.

They could find a way to bring Benoit back from the dead, and the interview would still follow the formula of:

"So Chris. Time-limit draws? Do you think we should bring them back. [insert pointless shit 10 minute Jim Barnett impression] I think they should bring back time-limit draws because blah blah blah blah blah. What do you think?" "...errr, yeah I suppose you're right, Jim".

The Lapsed Fan is the absolute GOAT wrestling (and generally, to be honest) podcast. Unfortunately it is the kind of thing which on first listen can feel REALLY annoying and obnoxious, and I absolutely hated the hosts for the first hour or so.

Luckily I'm able to put up with stuff if I have enough reason to believe it is actually good, and now I fucking love them and their show. To the extent that I contribute a tenner a month on patreon. They only have about 7,000 followers on twitter last time I checked, but their monthly patreon amount is over $1000 which is a pretty staggering ratio.

People get put off by the mammoth run-times (WM 17 was 8 hours, lol), but I think that's missing the point. Just like, pause it, yeah? They even got Davey Meltz to contribute ~15-30 minutes to each of their WM and Starcade podcasts, on account of Jack being a proper MMA journo that Dave respects.

If anyone is really looking for something new to listen to, and are willing to persevere through the initial "who are these twats", then deffo give it a go. Just pick a random PPV they're reviewed which you like (or hate, I suppose), ideally a more recent one (during or after their WM run), because they're better now.

Even before I saw the bookies had him as 1st/2nd favorite (and that may have changed since) I was saying that Jericho was the best choice to win the Rumble. We know that Owens/Jericho is happening at Mania (right?) and I'd love to see them do a storyline similar to what happened with HHH and Batista where HHH was trying to convince Big Dave to go to Smackdown, only it would be more entertaining just because it's Jericho and Owens instead of HHH/Batista.

I don't think he will because there's been a few rumbles where Jericho was probably the best choice to win, and he didn't, but for me he'd be the guy this year no question.

Edit- Wow, he's down to 6th... such a shame.

I'd say not for Jericho as I'm sure his band is booked on the festival scene, so he'll be off again soon.

If it's not The Undertaker I'll be very surprised. I'd personally have it be Balor as he never lost his belt, or someone surprise like Samoa Joe. Absolutely anything is preferable to Strowman.

Undertaker doesn't need it and won't be around after Mania.

It's pretty much a certainty Jericho is getting a Universal Title match with Owens, so the Rumble makes sense, even if he is leaving after it. It's also just about the only thing he's never achieved, so may as well give it to him for being the best thing on RAW all year.

Balor can fuck off. He never should have got the belt in the first place.

Having Taker enter and lose would be utterly pointless, the only sensible explanation is they want to give him a title to retire with.

I thought Jericho wasn't off until the summer. He'll be around for Mania, surely.

As for Taker, he either wins or his angle for Mania is setup during the match.

The Undertaker wins, he feuds with Don Cena - possibly with a retirement angle to make it unpredictable - and then Don Cena finally turns heel to keep his belt a la Stone Cold at WrestleMania X-Seven.

For the first time in years, a Cena heel turn actually seems like a possibility, given his part time status.

Taker winning would definitely lead to him not appearing until the RAW before mania where the Champ cuts a promo and the lights go out and Taker appears, hits a Tombstone, yells "REST IN PEACE" and then jobs at Mania.

Balor Club/Bullet Club/Mint Club do nothing for me. It's just a bunch of random dudes hanging out for.... REASONS. Yes, AJ Styles is ridiculously good and was part of it, but past that, why should I care? It's not like Festus is a world beater.

Agreed, that was bollocks. Why not pin him and then worry about Trips? Why are all faces so stupid?

The Tag Title thing is a mess. A TWO REFEREES MATCH on the pre-show because the referees made the correct call last week? Have I missed something there? (I was away for 2 weeks so other than the recaps I don't know what happened). Either way it seems like something no one should care about.

I'm told Bayley and Charlotte cut a terrible promo last week so it seems only logical to have them both talk this week and not compete.

    My other random observations:
    - At one point Goldbergs blood looked like a Harry Potter scar. Why the fuck was he bleeding from cutting a promo anyway? He needs to fuck off.
    - Holy shit chants at the end of the show? Really?
    - Nia Jax has the EXACT same voice as Chyna. Close your eyes and it's like she's back with us.
    - Alicia Fox has been in the WWE for over a decade, yet she still can't act.
    - Everything Cruiserweights do on RAW is still shit.

I don't really watch it I mainly just watch What Cultures videos to keep up with it. I thought I'd give it a go this week but I won't make that mistake again. I'll watch the Rumble just for Kurt Angle but that'll be it. When he's not there and Strowman wins I'll cancel the network and not even bother with Mania.

I might sign up for the free trial to watch the Rumble but even that I'm not that bothered about. Will be interesting to see if Omega shows up though.

EDIT: And I've just seen they're holding it in the Alamodome which has something like a 50,000 capacity. Will be interesting to see if they can fill it.

Exactly this. I think the biggest crowd for a non-mania PPV is something like 20,000 which is pathetic when you consider the monopoly they have on the industry.

Edit- Obviously excluding Summerslam 92 as well, although I've just seen Rumble 97 was 60k. But other than those 2 events they've never drawn a big crowd outside of Mania.

There was some Australian show that had a monster crowd, but that's because they never went to Australia otherwise. Biggest in history is still Ric Flair vs North Korea in that 200000-seater.
