What the fuck has happened in that Bayern game? I checked the score at like 65 minutes and it was 3-2.
Clever jerries recognising that the tiebreakers could be vital later on. Wouldn't see an Italian side do that.

Neuer came off, Zagreb scored 2, Bayern got mad, GOALS

Watched the second half of Bologna v Shakhtar, in my search for interesting football. This was of course ghastly fare, with two very ordinary sides each happy to feign injury and run down the clock for a tame goalless draw.
It did however give some food for thought about Shakhtar. On the pitch they are more or less what they have always been: some of the better Ukrainian players, with a squadron of Brazilians to provide the 'quality', even if there isn't quite the depth that they used to have ten or more years ago. Their away kit, which they were wearing in this one, nods pretty unsubtly to the national flag (of Ukraine), even though their city is in a declared independent republic and is de facto run by Russia. Presumably none of the players or staff have been anywhere near Donetsk in years. God knows where they play their league games, but their CL home games are going to be at Schalke's ground. Yet they just seem to potter along as always. They seemed to have about 50 fans in the 'away end' for this one, none of whom had any Shakhtar colours but just Ukrainian national garb, so presumably just emigrés or general football fans.
What is the future for that? Do they turn into the first club that just exists outwith its declared locus, powered on by branding and history alone? It might be a long wait for Zelensky's boys to liberate and rebuild the Donbass stadium. Can they just carry on like this forever? Will that encourage Americans to rip English clubs out of their locations? I can't help but wonder.
6 games yesterday, 6 games today, 6 games next Thursday? What the fuck is that? Are they going to have this offset wank all the time or is it just for the first round of games?
Celtic v Slovan Bratislava. The former look quite good, the only good news about that is my brother's wedding is coming up and although the bride is Welsh, somehow her family is packed full of Celtic fans so I can make small talk saying that Arne Engels looks quite good and how is Callum McGregor still playing. Lovely to see the Vladimir Weiss/Vladimir Weiss coach/player duo still going strong for the away side. The playing half of the duo getting roundly booed because he played 23 games for Rangers about 15 years ago. He also looks completely shite.
Hard to put into words how bad Spurs are. Solanke might never score again, such is the complete lack of service.
Name on the trophy.
Imagine wasting that sort of reverse jinx on the league club.
That can't be as good as that sounds.Preston 1-1 Fulham (16-15 on pens)
Not ideal to lose against weak opposition in Spurs but it's a nice warmup for the proper game against Swansea on Saturday.
Idah and Scales are Ireland's first Champions League scorers since Darron Gibson in 2011. Dancing on the streets of Gigglestown tonight.
They genuinely looked a decent side. Not sure Slovan are that bad. Think the format suits Celtic big time as well as it makes all the home games massive occasions and much greater chance in at least a couple of the away games than they used to get seeded 4th in a 4 team group.
Bodgers revival 24-25 is on.
How the fuck have Celtic managed to get so many games against fellow bums? Young Boys and Brugges to come at home? The aways aren't much better/worse, almost wall to wall shite.
This is the best Celtic side in quite a few years. They have been chronic underperformers in Europe for a while, so if they can't do it this season they never will.
Just seen the PSG goal.
I see I misread the fixtures and the Thursday games are today and not next week. Also, upon closer inspection, Brest are in the Champions League?
Yep. Brest v Sturm Graz tonight absolute appointment viewing.
Bordreaux's woes are compounded by signing Andy Carroll.
For fantasy football you pick which team you support and you join a public league with all the other fans of that team. I chose Brest.

How much have you scammed them out of so far?
What you on about?

He probably means your last man standing thing, missing the big fan of brest wahey joke. Big brest fan? I dunno.
One minute gone and Brest have already pumped two balls towards a lumpen looking bald frontman. This is what I came to see. Fuck your playing out from the back.
Who is that in the David Raya costume?
Sounds like excellent tournament football from Arsenal. Imagine giving Southgate 8 games to finish in the top 24 of 36. Imagine.
Brest 2-1 ahead with ten minutes to go, they are absolutely dogshit but the vibes are with them. Their journeyman beanpole target man very much MoM, having set up the second goal when it bounced off his back. They are also playing in Guingamp's stadium, it turns out, which makes me wonder how shit theirs must be. Sturm Graz have endless Habsburg type people in midfield and brought on a 20 year old Scot at right back. They should be the better team but aren't, because of the vibes. The vibes are undefeated.
Didn't have Jim down as a fan of Brest.
Good to see Brighton loanee Sima firing the winner past Sturm Graz 'keeper Kjell Scherpen, on loan from Brighton. Brighton player Malick Yalcouyé also came on for the away side. Setting the over/under for total first team starts these three see make at 3.
Jimmy is MVP of TTH
That midweek MOTD was bleak. Joe Hart, Stephen Warnock & Julien Laurens. No thanks.
Laurens is hosting MOTD? The bloke is insufferable on the podcasts.
Pound shop Phillipe Auclair.
Warnock's decent when he does radio commentary, and Joe Hart is alright when he's not wanking off goalkeepers and mentioning the Goalkeeping Union or whatever bollocks means Pickford's dino arms don't mean he's bad in net.

People still don’t rate Jackson
That was awful defending. That the centre back was more worried about a cut back, to nobody, is mental.
Top 3 striker in the league
That was a better finish than the first, but the defending was somehow even worse.
West Ham completely uncompetitive, but hey, at least they have a fancy named foreign coach who wears jeans and plays out from the back.
That’s another stupidly good finish from Palmer
Was looking up to see why they got rid of Moyes as I couldn't remember (seems it was his choice to leave) and saw this on his Wikipedia page:
What a nice man.In April 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Moyes accepted a 30% cut to his salary as West Ham looked to retain jobs allowing them to pay 100% of non-playing staff salaries. He left London during the pandemic and worked in his home village in Lancashire delivering fruit and vegetables to those in need.
Yeah, that is class.
Nunez starts. Here we go.

I simply cannot believe the West Ham quadruple has not materialised.
I presume it’s purely cos Jota got EAFC25 early access and hasn’t slept/trained.

A bit harsh on Gakpo, he was great in the week.
I see we're also in for a Kelleher stint in goal, a week after he was very pissy about us signing another keeper.
