Actually I think [insert team who won't win] could win it!
I'm a bore and want league football back
I'm even more of a bore and want to discuss TRANSFERS
A glory-supporting turtle wearing the winners' kit
Haste ye to the French football forums.
The pan European seethe if England win it![]()
Tiki Taka being undone by a succession of sideways and backwards passing would be a bizarre spectacle.
I hope we win just so Yev will shut the fuck up about it.
Getting to the final would be lovely, but avenging Ronald Koeman in the name of Graham Taylor would be the real prize. Imagine Carlton Palmer watching with a tear in his eye.
Who are the three other cucks that voted Spain way after I did? Cowards.
I feel the equilibrium between resigned despair and abundant optimism is shifting somewhat. Heard Three Lions on Radio One this morning. I take these as ill omens.
Even saw a Danny Murphy thinkpiece on how the Dutch might leave spaces for us to exploit.
At least they don't seem to have a midfielder of any real note available to play.
Rafael Benitez did have what it takes to win the Premier League after all then.
If you lose a final on penalties I don't think it's outlandish to say you were good enough to win it.
I have been fairly pro-Southgate during his reign but this is either irrelevant or supporting evidence. Despite being managed by Southgate, a half brained retard, England have managed to get pretty close.
Four matches of knockout football ≠ 38 matches of premier league football, but yes
dots.
Watching an England semi final in Mallorca will either be a disgusting experience or absolutely hilarious. ‘Mon the latter.
I think that vastly underestimates the hurdle one has to overcome to win a major tournament and the size of said hurdle when it's your first time. I agree we were very close in 2021 in some senses, but to actually win that final we would have had to fundamentally change our approach in the second half, which is no small thing. A Semi-final and Quarter-Final are not close and therefore not remotely proof that England are good enough to win a major tournament.
And let's be clear, the main factor that sees us in this semi-final (and by some margin) is the incredibly favourable draw we've had. We've been bilge.

In other news and in fairness to Sir Gareth, I was impressed with some of his words yesterday around penalties absolutely not being luck or a lottery. That that thinking seems to have been pervasive in the national consciousness for decades probably goes some way to explaining why we've been so bad at them.

Oh and him supposedly banning his players from talking about their approach to them with the media. Absolutely bang on that.
Which I was right about all over the shop as well.
Look at the stick I got for saying three years ago that Southgate should leave after Euro 2021 and look at how many people want him gone now. All the evidence was there by that point, which admittedly could still be proven wrong should he pull this tournament off, but if he doesn't, we'll have not won it having had a very favourable draw again and with the added bonus of playing not football.
Sorry I caused this.
Unless the way England play radically changes during the last game or two, I don't think your opinion on Southgate should change at all based on the result of them. Didn't Manchester United get lolled at for keeping Ten Hag for winning the cup final?
What's the deal tonight? Back to 442, or sticking 532?
Personally, I'd stick with 532, but replace Walker with Guehi.
Shaw LWB and Saka RWB. The rest as they were. Well, actually Watkins for Kane, but that's deffo not happening.
Guehi back in for Konsa will be the only change.
The Dutch midfield 2/3 have been mostly awful this tournament so England’s midfield may actually look alright for once. An interesting game either way as you’d say Dutch have the much better defence (individually anyway).
Scored a decent amount of goals though and Gakpo having his Muller tournament so far
We played 4-2-3-1 against everyone but the Germans and Italians. Had we brought Grealish on at half time and gone back to it I think we win. Someone to get the ball to feet, get us out of our own box and prevent the wave of attacks.
I supposed that is an "attacking change" and would be a fundamental mentality change for Southgate....
Fucking Mumsnet of football in here. It's fucking coming home, Sir Gareth gets a statue outside Wembley, we smash up Germany. There's a reason this great nation turned over half the world into fucking cucks. Fuck Spain, Fuck Holland. Let's absolutely shite our way to glory.
I'm looking forward to this much more than last night. Should be a good game.
Wow.
You'd think he goes at the end of this tournament whatever the outcome, for varying reasons.
Absolute nailed on certainty to take over at the USMNT.
Supposedly he turned down a two year extension ahead of Euro 2024, so I wouldn't rule anything out. Unless we get gubbed tonight a semi-final will be seen as a success on balance I'd suspect (in the bizarre way the quarter-final of the World Cup has been), even if we do go out.
Anyone not burrowing in the trenches in the year of our lord 2024 is a wrong un tbf.
Lads, where are the build up posts??
Seen a few tasty videos of the Dutch smashing the English. Seems the hoolies are playing terrorball too.
