Ocon punted for the final race. Doohan in.

IIRC, Verstappen is a level above both in terms of mentality and actual skill, on almost the entire current field.
Leclerc is probably the man you want for pure one lap pace, but we've seen many examples of him not having the bottle in races. Alonso and Hamilton the ones I'd put in that bracket, but one should be long retired by now and the other is very motivation dependant these days.
In fact on track, there's only really Hamilton that's been able to hold a candle to him in any kind of equal performing machinery.
Lando currently is not that guy. He's not far off that bracket in terms of skill, but lacks greatly the ruthlessness. This season should do him some good. The penny seems to have dropped that Best Belgian Mates doesn't work once they get in the car.
K Mag's reaction to to getting by Albon is great. I'll miss him.

I prefer this one.

Unless you meant Albon and we're talking about the same thing?
Yeah, I got the driver wrong.

Motorsport's governing body wants to change its rules to limit the ways its leadership can be held to account for bad governance.
Dictators gonna dictator.
This will be the end of FIA governance in top level motorsport unless he's stopped pretty much immediately.
The future Russell Verstappen rivalry is shaping up nicely, hopefully they have cars to bother each other with next season.
Not even a denial.Asked about Russell's claim that he said he would deliberately crash into him, Verstappen said: "That's not true. I didn't say it like that. He's trying to exaggerate it again."
Russell being the head of the Drivers Association makes it even better.
Netflix rushing cameras to Abu Dhabi immediately.
I stand with George.
Knock him out, lad.
Verstappen, like all his countrymen, is a massive autist, and Russell is a lovely twat. Bring on a heated rivalry, haven't had one for ages.
We just had the riveting tale of Perez vs Lawson.
Everyone has bent over for Verstappen over the last few years. The last one to stand up to him was Hamilton in 2021. It’s about time someone gave him a taste of his own medicine. Turns out it’s bitter.
Problem is it doesn't seem anyone has the ability, or inclination, to go wheel to wheel with him on the track, cf Norris massively pussying out when he had the run on him around the outside at the last race. Live to fight another day doesn't work with Max/the modern reliability era.
Because they know if they do, their race is over.
Norris learned that.
soppy twats
It's been too long since there's been a good bit of needle in the sport. Bring it on.
I do however fully expect a completely manufactured Instagram post with arms around each other, claiming how its all water under the bridge, before Christmas.
Leclerc has a 10 grid place penalty for the race so the FIA going ultra harsh last week has worked out well
Aston seem to have gone backwards at an alarming rate, are they just getting all of their eggs ready to put into the Newey basket rather than doing any development on the current car whatsoever?
I dont think it's so much on them. I do think there is a little bit of that at play, as if you know you're getting the boffin in, you want to give him as many resources as possible.
I just think the teams above have got to the point of maximum extraction of this current formula. It's a little track dependant but for most circuits you could say any of the top 3 are in with a chance of pole/win and if it's cold, Mercedes could be there too. They're a comfortable 5th in the WCC which is where I'd expect them to be.
Alonso has been dragging it to between 8th and 12th quite consistently but their problem is the window licking dipshit in the other car hasn't troubled the points in over 10 races now. Again about on par with what I'd expect really.
Alonso has had more Q1 eliminations than Stroll this season.
Qualifying is their problem. The top four teams are well clear, so barring any shenanigans like Brazil, they're competing for 9th and 10th every week but that means there's only 1 or 2 points on offer and given their slow quali pace they're having to come from further back. Given the gulf between them and the top four coupled with the current scoring system, hauling in just shy of 100 points is decent I'd say.
Hamilton
Starting to think Ferrari have brought him in knowing that they need a clear #1 and #2.
That bollard sticking under his car is a pretty good metaphor for his entire season tbh.
Bottas
Leclerc starting from the back of the grid so there goes any drama with the constructors
Short run in with an 1-2 and pole always wins here. Surely to god they don’t fuck this up
Even Lando can't bottle it from there.
lol at Russell somehow escaping a penalty for a much worse offence than Verstappen last weekend (on a hot run as well)
Loving these last hurrahs – Bottas and Hulkenberg are total dons. I know Hulk's going to be around next year, but the 2025 Saudi/Auber (pick your own bridging name) is bound to be a dog as they work on the 2026 car.
In before Norris gets taken out later
Bottas a true hero.
Feed I have refusing to show any replays of any incidents.
How has Sainz fucked that restart that much?
@John Arne that's just the official broadcast. I'm watching on the F1 channel and nothing's been shown really.
How did the French figure out how to build a car all of a sudden?
It was on Verstappen for sure. Piastri left him a lot of space.
There you go. Completely on Verstappen.
How does he always get such a rapid start? Is the RB just that good off the line?
Annoyingly this is why more don't cut Max off when he dives down the inside as he does. Piastris race ruined yet Max is likely into some good points still.
Verstappen being a stupid twat shocker.
Verstappen, Piastri and Bottas all getting the same penalty doesn’t seem quite right
